Loved the style of that particular LeBaron. Also like that Riviera. If I could pick up both for between $5K-$6K, I’d send a check right now. Not sure what I’d do with them. Maybe start up another biz....“GG’s Beaters and Barn Finds”.

Question for the BMW folks wandering around in here....Is it just me, or does it seem BMW is likely to buy back their cars without much effort? Seems the ones I’ve seen with branded titles seem to be factory buy backs (without much in the way of having to go through the buy back gyrations).

Here you go, under your limit even before negotiation:

Thanks...not a fan of green, but those are two good examples of their respective models.

Not sure why, but I've always thought Rivieras to be some of the best styled cars, that GM ever produced.

Someone took a huge bath on trading that one in. 16K+ miles on a current model year car? Would love to hear the history of that car.

Betcha it's an ex-rental. Premium cars are often retired before 20K.

So which is correct? The dash readout or center console? One reads 21.6 MPG the other 20.9. Lol.

I wonder if the Fuel Consumption on the main screen is 21.6 for all time, where as the one on your cluster is for the current "trip" (since last reset)?

How much horsepower in the Volvo 4-banger 2.0T? Seems pricey for that car at over $30K with 16K miles.

Well... Richmond VA through Baltimore pretty much stinks if you hit it at the wrong time (especially DC traffic), then the worst of it is through NYC. Probably have to try and time it to miss rush hour in either of those areas.

You can use RT 301 instead of 95 from Richmond to up past Baltimore and then use WAZE to navigate around NYC. I'd assume it will not take you over the George Washington Bridge and Cross Bronx Exp if it's gridlocked. There are many other options if that's a mess.

Must be, I'll have to research it. I don't notice the one in the cluster ever resetting so that's why I felt it odd.

I love that DB7. From a much simpler era, but with great style. And a real tranny of course.

My favorite thing though is reading the work invoices, and the Weezard charged him $.02 for a drinking straw. Not just the troll job charging him, but that a mechanic that works on high end exotics, did a repair with some epoxy and a straw.

Avoid I-95 at all costs. If you prefer Interstates to back roads, I-81 is your friend. You can follow it up to I-84 in PA, then cut over to CT without dealing with the mess farther East. If you like non-Interstates and have the time, there's dozens of options, one of which would be to go up the coast, but that's definitely a bring-your-lunch proposition.

Does my heart good to hear that someone is actually going to use their very nice car on a long trip -- that's what they're for. Have fun!

That blue Volvo is a T6, so that’s about 300HP, right? TJC can confirm that it is enough to move quickly.

For the toad trip, Skip just drove from VA to Vermont. Reported light traffic.

I would take 81 and bypass I95 corridor entirely. Different variations of doing that. Slightly longer (traffic depending) but more relaxing and fewer tolls depending on how you do it.

If blasting straight through, 85 to 95 and get all the scenic views of Richmond, DC, Baltimore, the length of the NJ turnpike (I can tell you how to skip half of that) and then all the glory that is the George Washington bridge and cross Bronx expressway (also an easy way to bypass that). Just need to know your preference (time, tolls, craptastic traffic).

If you need a break outside philly, stop and say Hi!

    Long drive @22+ hours.

Might try coming up through PA and hook up with I-84 into CT or farther north to I-88 and connect to I-90 and the Mass Pike. I-287 out of NJ onto I-87 to I-90 would also give NYC a wide berth.

Ahhh.... not bad at all. Remember, I'm always running a tune on my sporty Audi's so I'm at Stage 1 APR which is about 350 HP and the high torque file so about 360 or 380 lb/ft I think. On a barely over 3,000 pound car (I am 1 cylinder, 1/2 liter, and 1 dual clutch gear lighter than a TTRS), you could say I'm a bit of a beast, particularly in the twists with lightweight OZ wheels dressed in 255/35R19 Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber.

    @rayainsw,
Probably best avoiding I-95 if possible. Last time I stopped at a NJ rest stop in the NYC area it was like visiting a 3rd world country.
So maybe I-77 up through Charlotte to I-81.
If you stop in Wilkes-Barre PA on I-81 there are lots of restaurants to choose from.
We usually get a sandwich at Wegmans, a very nice grocery store. Exit 168. Turn left at bottom of exit, take a right at 2nd light at North American bank.
Also, there is a Dunkins just before it at exit 165. Left exit, right at bottom of ramp, then first entrance on left.
At the PA/NY border there is a PA Welcome Center that is well kept.
Right exit, then left at bottom of ramp and entrance is on the right a few hundreds yards after that.
Can't wait to hear about your trip.

Slight incident in the Tundra the other day. There was what appeared to be a goose or other large fowl by the side of the road. As I was approaching, it decided to take off. Being a large bird, it did so very slowly. Worse, it slowly ascended into the road instead of away from it. It got fragged by my windshield and caused the right wiper to become misaligned (I was able to pull it back). Poor bird.

But... I noticed today there are several vertical scratches on the windshield. Thankfully, glass is $0 deductible on Kentucky insurance policies if you have comprehensive coverage. Has anyone here had a windshield replaced on a car with lane departure warning? I know it has to be recalibrated. Is that a dealer only item, or can my regular glass guy do it?

Speaking of Volvo fuel consumption, how did @tifighter do with that XC70?

I'm still a bit on the fence with the wagon here in Louisville, trying to wrap my brain around the more likely cost of it, and whether I can still justify the move to a AWD Volvo.

I did put in a call to the servicing dealer down in FL and they were not able to give more detail to a non-owner than what shows up on Carfax. Though a battery in the summer of 15 and another in the summer of 17 isn't outlandish for a Florida car, I'm still not sure whether to be worried about the "electrical system checked" again 4 wks after the 2nd battery.

I've waffled enough on it that my Carvana bid on my RDX is pretty much going to expire, but easy enough to get another and see how close trading through the dealer gets (knowing that the sales tax credit comes into play). I know it's all about the difference.

I'm not even sure whether I should be looking for an enabler to get me back to wagon goodness, or someone to talk me back to my senses and out of going from a 5-year-old Acura into a 7-year-old Volvo (albeit with similar mileage).

When I drove home from Connecticut many years back, took the Tappan Zee over to New Jersey and then down to Baltimore where I left the rental and flew back to Florida. Was lucky enough to drive down on a weekend so the traffic wasn't too bad actually. Left about 8 am and got into my friends place in Baltimore right before dinner. Luckily, the Hertz lady in Boston took pity on me and my cane and put me into a brand new Chevy Impala, this was in 2006. It turned out to be a great road trip vehicle even though I was traveling solo as I dropped off the wife & son at Logan and continued on alone.
Spent a few days in Connecticut and visited friends & relatives on Staten Island and spent some time in Northern Westchester where we used to live. Have my 50th reunion in 2022 in Briarcliff Manor but doubtful about going. We left in the early part of my sophmore year and the few good friends I had from my class have passed on. So many of the others either ignored me or bullied me that I don't really feel a part of their class. Turned out to be a blessing that we moved to South Florida and had a do-over if you will. Kids were a lot less snobby and more accepting of folks. Folks in our Westchester village felt they were better than others and could be very mean towards those they felt weren't worthy of their time. I was pretty happy to leave when we did!

Depends on the system, but it is often a dealer-only item. When I had the glass replaced on the Forester earlier this spring, there was a lady ahead of me getting new glass on her Prious: $1,400 for the glass, plus "whatever the dealer charges us for the calibration."

I had to replace the giant windshield on the X back in Feb thanks to a cement truck and a rock on 405. It cost less than that ($1200), and that included all calibrations for the AP cameras.

Give me one with about 100 miles more range than current tech and/or faster charging, and shaped like a normal car, and I might give it a shot.

won't be an issue going through NY. It is only for people flying in and leaving the airport. Plus, need to be staying more than a day. So stopping at a rest area will not be an issue.

Travelers who are only passing through New York on a highway or a flyover are not subject to the order, so long as their stay is less than 24 hours

Replaced the windshield in the Outback. Had to take it to the Safelite center for replacement and recalibration. Everything worked as expected on the drive home.

Can you have the glass polished without ruining the electronic features? Might be a cheaper way out. I can’t imagine a goose could gouge the glass too deep.

Although a turkey will bust your windshield good and proper.

I don’t think most glass shops do that. I can feel the scratches with my fingernail. They’re perfectly vertical, must’ve been the poor guy’s talons.

....I'm not even sure whether I should be looking for an enabler to get me back to wagon goodness, or someone to talk me back to my senses and out of going from a 5-year-old Acura into a 7-year-old Volvo (albeit with similar mileage).

I've always loved Volvo wagons myself, even from when I was a kid. But to me it seems like a risky move. And here's one thing—I use AndroidAuto for the maps and other features all the time in my car, and I don't think a 7-year old Volvo has that. Come to think of it probably your RDX doesn't have that either? What's the Carfax offer on the RDX? Not what you have in mind, but the loyalty incentives on new Acuras are pretty good right now, esp. on the new RDX. If you're looking for something that's more fun to drive than an suv would you consider a sedan or coupe?

Funny about filling up. I filled up the GTI on Friday, and thought: I should post this in CCBA.

I'm only filling up now about once every three to four weeks to be honest. Besides work, don't drive much besides going to the grocery store or Target for supplies. Mostly, staying in the casa when not at work as the Florida cases seem to be ramping up a bit unfortunately.
