not a bad looking old car. No, not fire breathing, but for cruising around on a nice Sunday or doing a local cars and coffee, perfectly fine. The 318 isn't that much of a dog, at least compared to the slant 6 it also came with!

and if you want to spruce it up, easy to do (to that engine, or drop in the monster of your choice).

15+ months until the Tundra lease ends (possibly six months longer if I'm offered an extension), and I'm already brainstorming replacements. Leasing another Tundra is a definite possibility, if they're still leasing as well. I'd also consider something well-used but in good condition, like a Land Cruiser (like @au1994 ) / Sequoia / LX570, or a 4Runner (like @dad23 ) / GX470.

I just have an aversion to replacing one car with a newer version of the same thing. Might as well keep the old one! And if it is a lease, it should be a law that you have to try something new!

and I don't count replacing the old RDX with a new RDX as that, since it was a complete clean-sheet redesign, and only the badge was the same.

The redesign is supposed to arrive in 2021 as a 2022 model, I think. I doubt there will be any leftover 2021s by the time my lease is up, but hopefully, there will be good deals available on the new ones.

That MINI seems a lot like my daughters, option wise. Hers stickered for something like $36-37K.

It's a 2014 with just over 40,000 miles, and her dealer sent a buy bid of $8600 a few weeks ago. $18K for one year newer and 16,000 less miles seems way overpriced.

For the 114k-mile, decade-old X3? $7k? Really? I think you are saying that only because it is 3500 miles away and you'll never actually have to follow through. LOL.

Stick - forget about the whole “Miata with an automatic equals revocation of one’s man card” for just a minute. It’s “your” color combination & its $12K. Maybe less. If you drive it for a year or 2, you’ll loose what? $2K at the most? Maybe $3K?

Well, I did say it was the wrong engine. I had a ‘69 Plymouth twin to the Charger with the same engine. It was the 320 ft.lbs. of torque that mattered. It would never be a threat to a 440 or even a 383 but I ruined many a tire with burnouts.

As I've said before, I have trouble keeping a beater, I've fixed a few cosmetic issues on the Clubman because I hate to look at cracked or faded trim- I even bought a used ISOFIX cover on eBay to replace a missing door on one of the mounts.

I would like that Ranger but near $6k for a 20 year old 100k+ mile truck seems a bit much. Alas those go for the craziest of money.

Yeah, a Miata without a stick is a waste.

I drove a Mini the other day and they are the roomiest small car made. Sharp handling but I didn’t think it was terribly fast. Also a car that probably is best with a stick.

I don't even know if that price for a 2007 is good or not. But, I don't want a sportscar with an automatic, so even if it won't depreciate much, what's the point? Not like it has any practical value!

I sent the link to my son to tease him. I know he can't buy it now, and doesn't need another car for a year or so until his lease runs out. But one of his concepts was getting a fun sports car along with a truck of some sort for carrying crap and winter duty.

I suspect the Tundra will be a fresh design. The current one has been around for a long time.

Same, and that's one of the things that makes leasing attractive to me. With a used car, I figure spending at least a few hundred fixing cosmetic issues right out of the gate, plus things I discover later.

I did not realize that is a dealer who bought the car at auction. Seriously? That site just lost a TON of cred, IMHO. Anyway, dealer paid $6200 for it.

you see quite a few dealers there. usually try and position it as having recently bought from original owner or some such. Definitely want you to assume they are someone like chasing classic cars that finds something privately and brings it back to recommission before selling.

just running your used car lot auction hoopties, that is what craigslist is for!

Oh, sure, I know there are dealers. But I agree it should be those who seek out special cars from owners and can give the background on them and provide records. Buying from auction and reselling immediately is just garbage.

This dealer seems to specialize in rare BMW Wagons. Not too long ago they had a 330xi Wagon that had an original sticker price of over $70K.

That is really disappointing regarding the X3 having been picked up at auction a couple weeks ago. There was a time where this particular seller was excellent about finding these rare cars and restoring them cosmetically and mechanically to near-new shape. No chance that happened over the course of 2 weeks.

Regarding the E61 535, yes it is an N54 - I'd look for an 06-07 E61 with the N52 - won't be as fast, but much less to go wrong.

I really like this. Shame it sounds like the airbags might not work, plus the "unknown battery drain" issue. I love the OE look, but traction has to be a huge issue if it's putting down LS power to those 205/55/16 tires.

I had a 2010 E61. So same car but mine was automatic. This one looks sweet, but high miles. I'm glad that mine was CPO, because it spent some quality time at the dealer!

I like it. Definitely sounds like a Chevy under that hood with all the squeaking and vibrating. LOL. I'm not saying that in a negative way, necessarily. Just a very familiar sound to me having grown up in a Chevy household. I'll keep an eye on that one, but shipping from Texas will hold me back, I'm sure.
