S is strippo stuff. If I was getting one it would be the loaded pro 4x. Those deals were insane. 0 Das, 24 payments of about $450 for a $46k sticker. And one was $417 for. $43k sticker version (no premium pack so no moonroof or leather).

I emailed US Bank about whether I am eligible for a lease extension--I skimmed the lease contract and couldn't find anything definitive, other than something vaguely to the effect that "under no circumstances may the lease extend more than six months beyond the termination date."

So pushing 60K (maybe passing it with taxes) for a vehicle with tech that dates back to the Bush bubble? Welcome to 2021. Curious as to current values on the XC90, I got a quote from Carvana and Vroom…Carvana gave an instant quote of about $50k. Vroom took a few days, but came back at $62k.

Talk about a discrepancy between the two buyers!

Believe it or not, my wife and I can’t think of anything we’d rather have right now than the Volvo. It’s been a pleasure to drive on some road trips this past summer, and has that great setup in the cargo area for our dog.

My wife and I differ on our XC. I think it’s a great vehicle that drives much smaller than it is. She likes the features and comfort, but said her Enclave drove and rode much better. I just can’t agree with that!

The trip to Orlando went well, the Accent was showing 45.8 mpg's at a certain point yesterday and I was very impressed. There were three of us plus a trunk full of 3 small suitcases plus various smaller bags. Drove very smoothly and kept the cruise at about 72 with the a/c running. Car has now maybe 7600 on it so was nice to let it stretch it's legs a bit.
Going in for an recall on the trunk plus an oil change later this morning. Been about a years since her last change and I had read about the recall online as we haven't received the letter from Hyundai yet. Not very often I have the Accent at our house so since I took today off anyways, made sense to get it done today. My daughter could've done it herself but decided I'd go ahead & do it so she can stay & help mom at home. I'm also putting her to work later in my office helping me move my sons bookcase and books out so I can put in a small table I got for a lamp and a small alarm clock. Trying to make the small office mine so getting rid of those books will be a good start.

Thanks @nyccarguy. It was about 5.5 hours from home - so yes, for us it was a great example of how much there is to see right around us. My wife and I have lived here in Colorado our entire lives, and we always laugh when we meet friends and neighbors who recently moved here and have seen way more of the area than we have!

I had to run some errands about 20 minutes from the house today. At least 3 spots with craters big enough to lose the RDX in. Either a lot of zig zagging if room, creeping through, or just banging in and hoping.

Every time I get hyped up to get a sports car again, I go for a drive and just envision busted wheels and blown tires.

Even though I'm almost certainly not going to buy one, I still check out the Supra Mk V forum- it's like a train wreck; I just have to look. The recall update issue continues to be the subject of more hilarity:

I brought my 2020 Supra for the software recall and when I got my car back the navigation system just indicates "Loading". I brought it again and they could not get it to load. Has anyone had this issue and what was done to get the navigation to load?

Two of my local Supra buddies have trashed headunits too as a result of the recall.

On one Supra they also broke a wire when changing the cabin air filter. His Supra will be at the dealer for weeks. They put him in a Corolla loaner. He’s loving life.

That really sucks and the fact that its a BMW in Toyota clothes really doesn’t help. On top of that I am sure the dealerships are suffering from the lack of staff most other businesses are.

A few weeks a go I took the X1 to Discount Tire for a rotation. Now shame on me but I didn’t have an appointment but showed up at 8 am when they opened. In the past they’ve been able to get me right in up to and including just pulling up to a bay and a guy did it outside with a floor jack. No go this time but they did say come back at 10:15. When I got back there was all of 3 guys working. The store manager did my rotation in between answering the phone and selling tires. I ended up being there over 2 hours. I really feel for those techs. Literally no downtime as the shop was slammed.

    OUCH.

That falls into the category of fixing “A” but screwing up “B, C and D”.

I have an appointment for later this month to take the Genny in for the ABS recall fix. I’ll just sit there and hold my breath. Of course I can always decide to ignore the recall and take the chance that the Genny won’t catch fire and take my house with it. Decisions, decisions. :'(

I actually feel sorry for the Toyota dealers in that the Supra is totally unlike any other car in their lineup- and they don't have enough techs to service the traditional Toyotas- never mind the Supra.

They could keep a 4Runner or FRS around as a loaner. Not that it is much better than the Corolla.
