I have to wonder, would those high mileage cars be coming on the market during normal times? I mean, would the owners give them up for a few thousand that they would command in the previous market? Has the current crazy prices become high enough for the owner to say that this is the right time?

I saw but did not watch that video. I don’t plan to load mine down quite so much.
Also they finally approved the hybrid to sell. Should see those hitting driveways later in December. Tons built but not sent out yet. And likely they switch to mostly hybrid production for a while. Wonder when mine finally gets scheduled ?
Looking at the Lexus deal, I wonder it I would be able to pull off something similar in the next few months with Volvo.
Cash out a bit of equity, and roll into a S60 plug in at a modest discount and tax credit.
Hmm.. will have to start researching that. May end up at a higher monthly but pickup some cash
Thoughts?
Your only feasible way to get any equity out of it, truly. Volvo doesn't allow 3P buyouts or buyouts by Volvo dealers even UNLESS you're getting a new Volvo from that dealer.
The risk is that the dealer lowballs because they know you don't have any choice.

I'm high bidder on the S60R now. I'm certain I'll be outbid. Just feels exciting to have 3 current winning bids. LOL.
You just got jumped on the ZX. By $7,500
I would like that model. Though that one has sat a lot. And given the age, and my lack of repair skills, would prefer the non turbo. Much simpler but still plenty fast for me.

After watching this, I’m sorry I didn’t go after the Si harder. Though the $2,500 ADM was a turnoff. Looks like a lot of fun to drive. If the Integra does this, with the hatch and comfier power seats, I won’t care if it looks like a cross tour.

Exactly. They have you pretty much 100% locked in. I figure with the current situation may be the only way to get a decent overall deal is to get another Volvo.
The plug in is under 5 seconds to 60 and goes 22 miles on a charge. That would be perfect for many of my drives.

Pretty good numbers and we know the S60 is a nice package. I’ve gotten into the habit of putting the Jeep in all electric to save every once of gas I can. I took it to the lake for the holiday but prior to that I was showing over 36 mpg. Even after the road trip and lots of dino powered driving up there, I’m still at 31.

Got the call from our Audi dealership today that my wife's A4 Allroad is entering production in a few days.
I broke the news to him that she chose to go with the M340i instead, stating that she was attracted to the more performance-oriented vehicle instead of the wagon body style.
He went on to say how the HP figures don't tell the whole picture - that the A4 is plenty fast. I thought that was a funny comeback, since the obvious one would have been to say they could have sold us an S4.
And yes, before I returned their call I did let my wife know that I'm sure we could trade out the M340i for the wagon if she still wanted it...that we didn't have to cancel the order. She declined.

The new Integra looks a lot better than a Crosstour. Let me count the ways—1. Front view. 2. Side view. 3. Back view. The Crosstour was an unfortunate looking vehicle, although mechanically and functionally it was good. The Integra in contrast is a sleek hatchback should be a lot of fun to drive. Plus the Integra will obviously have a more luxurious interior than the Si. Although I'd probably get used to it if I owned one, the red almost everywhere on the inside of the Si isn't my favorite. In any case, in six months or so maybe supplies will have increased enough for all vehicles so that ADMs can be negotiated away, even though I'm sure they'll still be pasted next to the Monroneys on most vehicles.
RE: My M340i service - issue that triggered the CEL was a problem with the active grille shutters.
Looks like the same issue encountered by C+D in their extended test: “During our first trip out west, the active grille shutters that contribute to the M340i's aerodynamic slipperiness became stuck in the open position, illuminating a check-engine light. When we returned to Michigan, the dealer replaced the lower shutter assembly under warranty.”

Well, given the recent home purchase and all that goes with that, that’s more than I’d want to spend on a fun car at this point.
