That’s a very good sign that discounts are starting to come back. The current Chargers are probably the last big car on the market at that price point.

Do cars from over there have rust (asking for a poster buddy)?
jmonroe
They can if from the north of the country, but they always specify if so. I haven't gotten one with rust yet (what I consider rust, anyway; I don't count surface rust on the underside as real rust).

Didn’t those RX-7s of that era blow seals at about 50k and start spewing oil everywhere?
I don't think the era matters. Wrong oil and/or poor maintenance is a big no-no for every generation rotary, as far as I know. If the report comes back with any mention of an oil leak, I'm out.

Yesterday, the 25th, was my 18th anniversary of my truck accident at work. A lot has happened since that fateful day & was just wondering where I'd be right now if it never happened? Guess it really doesn't matter one way or the other as it's just like any other defining moment in our lives where we meet a fork in the road & need to decide which one to take. It's better if one has a choice in the matter which I obviously did not. But overall, life has progressed in a positive way. Just wish I wasn't dealing with that chronic pain 24/7 as it has limited what I can and can not do. But, think leaving the postal service & doing something I truly love now, have made up for all the negativity the accident caused. I do like going to my Enterprise gig & can't see me doing anything else right now. Being that we're both working, part time for me and basically full time for my wife, is something we both enjoy as we both approach 70 years of age, I'm 68 & she's 67, now. Mentioned again lately what age are we going to stop & got nothing for an answer. Being I work with most folks being in their late 70's to early 80's, guess I could be doing this for awhile. Think working either 3 or 4 days a week has it's advantages to. Don't want to work full time to be honest & enjoy a few days off during the week, like today. Had nothing planned so slept in and did some wash as the dryer vent guy is coming tomorrow to do his thing. Since I wasn't sure if they were going to ask for volunteers today, scheduled it for tomorrow when I never work. Do think I'll be asked to work this weekend though I'd prefer to work Saturday if only allowed to work one of them. Housekeepers come and I like to be gone when they are here. Two ladies come & spend the next couple of hours doing the chores we no longer want to do. Definitely worth the money and we use their services every month or so depending on what our schedule is. Stuff we'd do when we were younger are just easier to have them do instead. And nice to have the place super clean for awhile. Since it's usually just the two of us now, only use a few of the rooms and try not to be too messy. Their coming also makes me clean up my stuff which is needed right now!

Dang. Kind of wish I needed a car right now. A C40 lease in NJ is a bargain. Roughly $350/mo for 24/10k with first month, registration, and 10 MSDs at signing. That's an MSRP around $60k.

I was looking at one for me given 3 days a week of 20+ mile commuting into the office but I have to pay taxes on almost all the rebates and I don't think I'd get a big enough dealer discount out this way. Granted I haven't really pursued it seriously.

I was SOOOO close to being the high bidder on a Maserati GranTurismo just now. 2008 automatic, so it has the ZF 8-speed. Only 23k miles. Silver outside, so meh, but dark tan guts. So an overall nice combo.
I had put in a proxy high bid of $16.5k. With the shipping cost, it would have put me right at about $17k (I have a first-time buyer waiver on the auction fee). These auctions go for 2 hours, FYI. I was in with about 45 mins remaining. Slowly, the high bid was nudged up to $15.5k, then stalled. The clock ticked all the way down to 1 second before it got bumped. Folks were hitting it $100 at a time, so I went to $15.7, $15.9, $16.1, on up to my max. Got down to 3 secs, then went over my max. Grrrr... I thought about it a little more and hit the $100 button. Someone then $50 over that. So I put in another proxy for $17,050. Sadly, in the end, it finished at $17,150. In this instance, the seller has 3 days to consider if he/she wishes to let it go at that number. There is an outside chance it could still fall to me if they take too long and the other buyer flakes or backs out, but I very much doubt that could happen.

well, I wound up with nothing last night. I had canceled the Mini (full repaint and TMU) and Suzuki (corrosion noted), but continued on the RX7 and Panda. The former went for an eye-watering $27k, while the latter sold for a very surprising $8500. Those are apparently way more popular than I give them credit for. I mean, this one wasn't even 4x4.
On the US site, I have an offer in for another Escape. This one an '09, but the same miles as the 2010 I sold to my brother. Seems to have far less rust than my previous example, and it is a Limited vs the 2010 XLT. They want $3200. I offered $2600 because the shipping will be $350.

That C40 would be a great run-around EV, particularly at that lease payment. I enjoy the way my Polestar 2 drives, and if you can believe it, I’ve passed the 2 year mark with it! But what I don’t like is the seating position and the cramped feel of the cockpit. A C40 (or XC40 Recharge) would solve much of that.
I think my wife would love that Volvo… but too many irons in the fire right now to deal with it. I’m away from home most of next week and the week of the 14th. Then wife goes oversees (China, Hong Kong and India) for over two weeks leading into June.
