Anyway, someone stepped up to $3k, so I’m out.

My Fitbit Inspire's case cracked and will no longer hold a band, and I looked at another Fitbit, as well as the Apple iWatch offerings, and ended up ordering an Amazfit Band 5 once I realized I strongly prioritize watch/tracker battery life and only really need a step counter and sleep tracker.

If I were in the market, I found a nice 2015 X1 35i with only 33,xxx miles on it at a VW dealer in Dallas. White over black.

    Asking price is only $20,500.

This is intriguing. Too bad about the color combo. I found it because it is now up at the dealer auction. I wonder what the market would actually pay for it if I happened to obtain it.

EDIT. I think this give me some idea. It was a while ago, but I think relevant for something of this caliber. Even if I award an absurdly generous $100/1k miles, we're talking a $4500 bump. And let's just say $500 for the 1 year newer. Again, silly. But even all that only gets me to $13,200 retail.

    I'm not a salesman.

Transporter is intriguing, but I think I'll need to make a bit more than what that position pays.

Spent much time in Maine, summer camp, friends, skiing and business travel. A huge state, thank goodness I didn't have to go to Madawaska (for travelling salesman, Millinocket was as far as I was asked to go)!
Saddling up and riding black flies is a hoot!

But, Vermont, then NH, are my fave northern NE states.

Lunching back in Westport, CT last Sunday (at a lovely waterfront restaurant that my father had considered investing in back in the '70s. He didn't; the biz failed. Wish I was as smart as Dad), I had to laugh. The "preppy" look is alive and kicking! Oh, my, the $$$ (which is why the town threw me out, I didn't have nearly enough); showed MIL where Martha Stewart lives, and the neighborhood. Some amazing houses, with large plots of land. I fear the wife is now planning with MIL...
Hope I don't have to put the M on BAT or C&B to pay for their new lifestyle.

Oh boy. I may have to be talked out of this one. I don't know why I keep pondering it. We know I'm not right in the head, though. On the other hand, this is a lot to deal with...

2008 Maserati QP GTS w/78k miles.

Bad: black/black; sagging and filthy headliner; non-working AC; TPMS light; Airbag light; "suspension creak"; and what is noted as "slow engaging into reverse" (it is a ZF 8-spd, so I think this is likely an easy maintenance item)

Good: they are asking very little money for it. like, well under $10k.

Out of everything, the airbag light concerns me the most, as that could be a number of things, some of which can be big ticket.

    Few other things I'm pondering.

I actually have an offer in on an H3 with some needs, but looks like little-to-no rust for a northern vehicle, so that's a huge plus. Mentions hard shifting, which I've read is typically either just fluid or a broken vacuum line on that trans. Also non-working AC. But if I can get it for my offer, I'd be A-OK on it, no doubt, even if it needs a whole new AC.

There is an interesting Mustang on there that I'm thinking about. Seller wants retail, though, IMHO. But it is an '08 GT Premium California Special coupe with 67k miles. Manual trans, of course. Looks pretty nice. My gut is telling me $14k'ish retail, so I'd like to get it for 11. I'll probably put in an offer that I'm sure won't get it done.

And... whoops, never mind, the Giulia I was eyeing just went over my max.

I've made bids on a couple of Caddy ELRs. Those go for WAY more than they should! Do they not know it is a slightly fancier Volt?

John Ross just did a video on replacing a transmission on a H3. Evidently the starter is a pain to get out.

Is a California Special that desirable? I thought it was mainly cosmetic stuff. The 4.6L in it supposedly takes a supercharger well. That could make it really desirable.

It is cosmetic. But much nicer looking interior than standard. This one is 2-tone grey/black. Helps elevate the standard mustang cave-like appearance substantially.
