My first turbo engine was in an 83 Ford T Bird Turbo Coupe.
Here's a pic across the street from our unfinished first house.

My first turbo experience, my first new car: '85 Mitsu Mirage Turbo. Lag, oh yes. But when the turbos spooled, a lovely kick in the pants!

Daytona is on ebay and facebook now. Sigh. Starting with a fairly bold price. Thought of starting at like 12 but just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Alfa is at the port and ready for pickup. Guess I'll plan for Tues, maybe, or Wed. Mondays and Fridays are typically not a good time to go.

Dropped off my RAV4 loaner and picked up our Highlander this afternoon.

They performed a recall by installing 2 new clips on the front bumper. A full synthetic oil change ($99.98), tire rotation ($34.99), brake fluid flush ($219.95), new front & rear diff fluid ($314.99). I asked again when I was there about the transmission fluid and coolant. He said not to worry about it until 100K miles. $683.65 with tax when it was all said and done. 1st time I’ve done anything besides oil change/tire rotation at 51.5K miles.

I had a 1984 5 speed manual; I bought it from my old law partner in 1993 to keep the miles off my M6. I sold it in 1998 to the son of the lady who ran my son's day care. He still has it.

Facebook marketplace? I cannot wait for you to post the messages and comments you get about the Daytona.

In all seriousness, good luck with the sale! I peeked at your listing. The car is in spectacular shape! The listing is well written, very detailed, & a lot more comprehensive than what I usually see on marketplace.

Anybody here test drive or buy a Genesis GV70 yet? @breld ?

Seems like a good overall package with a few oddball design elements but nothing totally unforgiveable (I think). With the good drive train 3.5T it's pushing in the $60-70K bracket. That's some mighty fine automobile company such as low mileage '20-'21 Macan Turbos

Biggest turnoff is I had some spare change time and drove to the Genesis dealership (not many of those around), and the manager said his salesforce was too busy for a test drive, and to come back another day/time. I think he was anticipating his sales guy grinding it out with someone as it seemed they were going back and forth. Huge turnoff. I feel like at the Porsche dealership they know the cars drive so well they just toss you the keys and go have at it without wasting my time (wait, that did happen). At Genesis...feel they are hiding a low budget driving experience..... Manager did not offer to toss me the keys; I prefer solo test drives personally.

That’s funny, I’ve never had a dealer hand me keys and send me on a test drive. They always send a salesman with me. It’s probably because I usually dress like a farmer and they think I’m a joyrider who either can’t afford a car or who wants to steal it.

Maybe next time I should wear an expensive watch as I hear that’s how they rate you. Ooops, that won’t work, ever since my Timex broke I use my flip phone.😱

Craigslist has a better reputation now (not much but some) since they started charging 5 bucks for car ads. That chased all the scammers over to Marketplace where they can still post for free.

    Great car!

I had a 1988 T-bird turbo coupe bought used. It was a 5spd manual and I fondly recall the velour bucket seats and the equalizer controls on the radio. I loved the look and it was fun to drive. I think the 0-60 time was 8.5 secs. which was not bad for that era. Unfortunately the head gasket blew and because of the $1200 repair at the time (probably early to mid1990's) I wound up doing the repair myself with the help of a friend. I sent the head out to be machined and the whole job cost me probably around $400-500. I sold it soon afterward.

They tried to have me tell them what I wanted for the Ascent. I wouldn't say what I wanted until they told what their appraisal was - and I had my key back.

I said they were less than Carvana and Carmax and he tried the old "sales Tax" thing. I told him he was still $1,500 too low - off the top of my head. He did a bunch of cyphering on his phone and corrected me to $1,489. :)

They eventually saw it my way...plus a couple of oil changes.

All in all it was about $12,300 difference from a 2020 Ascent Limited to a 2025 Forester Limited.

    Thank you for that.

I’ve prepared a few questions for the seller:

Are those original miles? Can you give me notarized proof?

I’ll buy it for half price if you repaint the roof, do you finance?

I’m a car scrapper and I might be able to salvage some parts. Will you take $1500?

I have $700. I’ll pay you the rest when my girlfriend gets paid next week.

Bought it! Hopefully I won't jinx it, because it is not fully done yet, but $13,000 for a 2013 F250 Lariat crew cab with 426,300 miles. I ended up doing a partial ownership thing with my brother, and my plan is to have it at my place in Ohio while we're there (brother gets it the rest of the year).

Certainly the nicest one out there with these miles, and, in many cases, FAR better condition than trucks with half (and fewer) the miles.

Best of luck with it. At least the cost is split. Hopefully your brother is a far better caretaker of cars than mine.
