———————————————— I didn’t hear all that I should have heard from a local outfit on the radio that pushes insurance plans/reviews of the one you have, but what I heard is, while the donut hole is going away and the cost of expensive drugs for those that require them will be capped at $2000, everyone else will pay more for their medication including the generics at the start of 2025. Like I said I have to hear more but that makes sense since there is no such thing as a free lunch because the masses always pay for those that can’t. Who knew?
Maybe I should go to one of those seminars that explains this stuff but I don’t think I’ll be able to control myself once they start in on the hard-sell to get you to switch to plans that they offer.

Years ago I worked with a secretary who left the moon roof open her Cadillac and of course it poured that day while she was at work. Then they totaled it and to their credit gave her an honest settlement but she had to put up with several inconveniences before they did.

We started with a cheap Part D plan ($10/mo), but it went to ZERO premium, this year. We have AARP supplement for the healthcare.
I don't know about the price of generics going up. Happened to check what my Part D plan pay Walgreens for 90 day supply of a statin. It's $0.92. Total. For 90 pills. (92 cents)

My son has begun the disassembly process on his Crosstrek. He was able to contact the original owner in order to return a small box full of personal items that he fished out of or off of the car. She told him that she had been t-boned in an intersection when the driver of a Toyota pickup ran the red light (long stale red, apparently). Funny enough, my son deduced the correct vehicle based on the emblem and bits of grille he found inside the crosstrek as he was cleaning it out!
Anyhow, he's slowly making progress and expects that he should be able to come out even on it after selling off various parts and pieces. He plans to ship the transmission, shifter, and rear differential back to Fairbanks for use in his Forester. These Crosstreks (this one is a 2020 model, with a hair over 35,000 miles on it) have the venerable six-speed manual, versus the much maligned five-speed in the older Foresters.

The girls are at the studio tonight, and my wife texts me: "Do you know how hard it will be to keep this car clean?"
No, honey, I don't. I knew it needed special care and feeding, but I didn't pick the color. Can't go through a car wash with brushes. There was a small booklet on this, so I knew it was special.
As the fleet manager, I guess I'll have to learn how to keep it clean.
@corvette said: @breld - that stinks, they both look like new.
They were just washed.
Breld, how high did the water get?
From the water marks in the garage where the TLX sat, you can tell the water got around 18-24 inches high. There was a fridge in the garage against the wall that floated into the car, and the RDX definitely shifted laterally a little. Both cars had a few inches of water sitting in the floor pan.
I think it was all from the rain, with no flooding from the ocean water.
It was cool though to watch the ocean during the storm. The first pic below is from the 3rd floor deck at our rental. I was also amazed at how quickly the water receded. The second pic was taken from the street side of the rental (our friend took the picture and it was actually published in a couple articles about the storm). By the next morning, the water was all gone, albeit leaving debris and trash.

That must be a Honda family trait. When I bought from a Honda dealer they seem shocked that I would make an offer lower than the listed price. They dug in like ticks and it took them forever to lower the price even a little. The SM threatened to sell it at auction rather than give me a deal.

I guess the problem is not just that they run wiring under the carpeting but different modules as well. The circuits and connectors might work fine for awhile but corrosion eventually sets in causing no end of havoc. Why can’t run that wiring up in the ceiling instead of the floor?

Huh. When I first saw the picture you posted I read that as a cognac color interior. Now that you say it is red I took another look and can see that, but it looks muted. Maybe it is my screen.
One thing I've noticed generally is that now that manufacturers are slowly starting to offer red as an interior color in certain models, they seem to have a big problem getting the shade correct. Red interiors mostly used to be all the same shade of red, with some small variation between fire-engine and somewhat deeper shades. Now they go from screamingly loud orangey reds to mostly black with a splash of red, with ones like this muted shade also in the mix.
Saw that paint scheme on a vehicle when I was shopping for the EV6. Liked it, a lot. Plus for the red interior.
I was wondering how you would keep it clean. You answered my question. No brush car washes. But, out of curiosity, what would an automated car wash do to the finish? Assuming no clear coat, so maybe the color level paint would wear away quicker?

I pulled the Monroney sticker out of the glove box this morning (need to start a new file for the Kia), and noticed something interesting.
At the top, it shows the exterior color as "Shadow Matte Gray", but the interior color is listed as "Black".
Huh?
In the section listed "Additional Installed Equipment" are the items for the exterior paint ($595), Cargo Mat ($95), Carpeted Floor Mats ($175), and Cargo Net ($55, apparently special because of the H/K sound system it has).
It also lists "Carmine Red Interior Color Package" with "Included" as the price - I guess all of the matte cars are built with the red interior, even though it's listed as "Black" - even on the dealer website.

I was wondering how you would keep it clean. You answered my question. No brush car washes. But, out of curiosity, what would an automated car wash do to the finish? Assuming no clear coat, so maybe the color level paint would wear away quicker?
I agree. The discount is laughable. So is the "dealer-admin fee".
My dealer is offering some good discounts out of the box, if you want to travel to northern Cincinnati. Straight $250 licensing/admin fee, too.
Im gonna have to read up on how to best take care of it. I’m sure the booklet we got has lots of do’s and don’ts in it.

I didn’t know Nine Inch Nails had started making cars.
Crazy.
