I'm trying to remember, but a customer of mine had an '06 or '07 LaCrosse that he leased for 3 years. It was constantly at the dealer. I remember at the time to tell him to look at Toyotas when the lease was up. He leased a 2010 Avalon and LOVED it. When the Avalon lease was up, I told him the buyout was a good price. He bought the lease out and is still driving it today.

Speaking of @breld, he and I were texting last night. I innocently asked him how many cars they've cycled through since I met him in early 2015.

Anyone care to hazard a guess? The number includes cars for him, the wife, and the kids.

I'm seeing more and more Land Cruisers on the road. My broker tells me they are a tough sell. Even with a healthy discount off sticker, high interest rates and lack of lease support are making it difficult to move metal.

High interest rates and a lack of lease support don’t seem to stop people from buying other expensive SUVs.

The new one seems to me like it focuses more on off road capability (and looks smaller) vs. the old one which was a large luxo SUV—I don’t think you could get cloth seats in the outgoing model. So maybe they misjudged the market’s appetite, or are fine with ceding/directing those sales to the Sequoia.

    Finally sold the Toyota.

    That hung around a while.

I'm giving up on that repo site. Emails were not forthcoming and I can't find any solid info online.

I poked around a little bit on them yesterday myself, definitely not much out there. I searched for their LLC in Colorado but came up empty. I find the use of wire transfers only to be questionable, most places will take multiple methods of payment and if you look up the age of their domain it's fairly new. If I had the time I would call one of my colleagues in our lending area to see how we handle repossessions and if we contract with a 3rd party. My guess is they are probably working more with regional banks or credit unions.

@kyfdx - I’ve been there! It had to have been a few years back, because my friend and I took the Tahoe up there to get a drafting table he had bought for his GF off Craigslist. I had some sort of beer that, IIRC, was on draft, but couldn’t be canned, and wasn’t recommended to be put into a growler. Something to do with freshness reasons, I think. I remember it was peach flavored.

On Wednesday's, they do a "fresh" fruit tart. They take pureed fruit and put it in their base beer, and it's only that one batch, until they run out (which they almost always do, before closing).

But, also, they used to do quite a few "wild" ales, that keep fermenting. They've generally stopped doing many of those, because it's really hard to stop spontaneous contamination.

They use over a million pounds of fruit, each year. It's pretty amazing. If you like tart/sour beers, no one does it better.

Last time I bought a winter beater (Honda Fit in 2019), I ended up selling my BMW and buying the GTI in February. Took me until the next Fall to get rid of it..

Some of ya’ll are pretty close to what I have as the official @breld count since 2015. Keep in mind, there are two and a half months left in the year, so counting from January, 2015 is not quite a decade.

I asked him for a count from when we first met, which was March 2015. He'd just traded in a 5-series for a Mazda 3 GT hatch with a 6 speed stick.

I never liked the laCrosse much.

I owned one. I didn’t like it much either. The unrepairable transmission probably had a lot to do with that.

One good thing: the seats. The seats were just lovely. So comfy.
