No, that one is much classier than mine! Here is a pic of a pic I have hanging in the garage of my actual car. It looks white here, but is more of a light, faded pastel yellow/green

Ah, okay. That may be the same color as my neighbor's Thunderbird. I think his may be a '73? I don't rightly recall the year he told me, but it is the '73-'77 model. Somewhat faded, it actually doesn't look too horrible. His has a darker top on it, though, which really helped to offset some of those colors given the huge amount of sheetmetal on those cars!

A lot of ugly green colors available in the '70s, for sure.

Yeah, but many nice ones, too. I really miss the paint variety that was once available. We basically have the choice between the colors that half of the population has, or the colors that a third have. It's so drab. There are a few models that I dismiss simply based on them being available only in several shades of grey (including the end caps of black and white).

    Pastel lime
I think the OP said it had a green tone in the paint, so I thought med lime yellow might
be the color. Then later, the pastel lime showed differently and the med lime yellow was
actually fairly dark on my computer. I am getting different displays of the color from
that chart. I looked on a newer laptop I have to see what that one gave me.

I believe the pastel lime actually is like a Cadillac color I saw on a preserved Cadillac
convertible at a car show. It was just a very light cream tone without the obvious
green tone in the background. I commented to the great couple displaying the car
about the contrasting light green leather seating and interior. The lady pointed out
that the paint actually had a green undertone and told me the name for the paint, which
I don't recall at all. But the color on the car looked more buttery than green.

    1. Very easy to work on and maintain
    2. Fun for kids in 4th of July parade
    3. Would do very well in collision with neighbor's obnoxious Harley.

    6. Excellent vehicle to survive a zombie apocalypse (I wouldn't play this last card unless you had to).

Funny you should say that @asafonov.  My 9 year old who won't be getting his permit until September 2022 has recently expressed interest in my 2015 Legacy ("I really like the body style").  At that point my Legacy will be 8 years old (bought in 2014).  Closer to 9 years old by the time he gets his license.  Driving the 19,500 miles per year I do, at 8 years old the car will have 156,000 miles & 175,500 miles by the time it is 9 years old.

My Legacy is actually a great car for a new driver.  175 hp 4cyl, AWD, Automatic, Lots of Sheet Metal, responsive handling, linear brakes.

Once my Legacy is paid off, I could justify to my wife in a few years that we should get another car to keep from piling miles on the Subaru so we could give that to Andre.  By that time our Pilot will have over 100K on it and I could justify relegating that to for times when all 5 of us need to be in the car at once.

Well are there really that many 4-bangers that can beat a 4.7? Think of the RS in the "fun per dollar" ratio.

The N54 engine has certainly been a hit around the world, but you know, whatever is made by man will fail now and then. Maybe you're getting turbocharger rattle?

Does it matter that it is a 4-banger if it gets v8 mileage?

As for my N54, I traded it on the mustang 2.5 years ago. The bad noise was just a last straw (2 HPFPs, 2 sets of VANOS sensors, new coils and plugs, and enough carbon buildup to trigger misfires all in the short time I had it). It definitely wasn't wastegate rattle, as I am very familiar with that. This was a very faint and very deep sound coming from oil pan region. I refused to stick around to find out what it was or to let it get bad enough for a used car manager to detect it.

I agree; the F30 platform has left me totally underwhelmed. Car and Driver just tested a 340 with the Adaptive M Suspension and Variable Sport Steering- their conclusion?

The new 3-series’ mid-cycle updates make a good car a little better, but they’re not transformative. This generation of 3-series still lacks the rewarding sense of driver involvement that helped earn its predecessors 23 10Best trophies since 1992. Knowing its record, we can’t help but miss its defining characteristic.

Read all about it here: 2016 BMW 340i Road Test

The one new feature that would drive me up the wall is the manual transmission with automatic rev-matching; the only way to disable it is to also turn off stability control.

One of the local VW dealers has some very good deals posted online for leftover 2015 Passat’s. The price includes over $4,000 in rebates, so I dashed off an email asking what the rebates were and what was necessary to qualify.

The answer was not what I expected. It seems that all 2015 Passat’s are under a “mandatory stop sell until VW can fix the cam shaft recall”.

Anyone heard anything about that? I saw something the other day about new Civics being held up for some engine issue (piston pins or ??), but this is the first I have heard about 2015 Passats.

Just called the National Safety Traffic Board and they say my vin number is not included in this recall, luckily. Feel bad for VW and all this bad luck they are going through right now.
Did get my tires rotated today and plan to get it washed in a bit. Still plan on getting a few of those accessories I found online, just not right now.
Still a bit confused as to why the wife's A3 drives smoother than my Golf does. Same engine and hers uses premium while mine regular. Guessing that their specs must be different since weight wise, they are very similar. Just wish mine was as smooth, that's all. Have also noticed that my rear view mirror is rectangular while hers is an oval...see more out of mine as it shows a bigger image.

Did get to see the new infotainment system in the 2016 models and liked it and still think it's a shame that VW didn't bring it out last year in the 2015 models. Makes sense that with a brand new model, they'd want their newest systems in them. Just wish VW would give us 2015 owners the option to get it as it should have been done this way in the beginning. Another example of the consumer getting the short end and I plan to voice my dissatisfaction with corporate shortly. At this juncture, seems silly for them to piss off their existing customers with all the bad publicity with their lying about the mpg's on some of their vehicles. They have shown the world what a dishonest company they can be!
