Hi, what would the MF (Excellent Credit) and Residual be for a 2017 T5 Momentum AWD, 36/10k? And likewise, for a 2016 T5 Momentum AWD, 36/10k?

    In NJ. Thanks so much!

Looking to purchase T8 Momentum with minimum to no options (so $69K to $73K MSRP). Trying to estimate what the resale value would be in 3-4 years.

Since this is a lease thread, could you please provide me with any available residual figures on the vehicle? Ideally 48/10k, but I'll be grateful to get anything relevant for T8.

I just received a solicitation from a dealer on a 2016 T8 Momentum plug-in which had a 54% residual on a 30 month/12K lease. I know it's an older model year but that sounds low for a 30 month lease. Adjust accordingly for the 2017.

But he did say that Volvo just sent out a new lease program for the T8 and he gave me a price of $699/month including 9% tax with $4K drive offs on a car with MSRP of $77K. That sounds like a hefty discount there.

Thank you for sharing. 2016 T8 models is what I am looking at, since this week I suddenly saw dozens of offers at $10K or even more below MSRP. They must be slow selling and Volvo corporate is trying to help dealers push them off their lots with large discounts.

Unfortunately for prospective buyers like me, low residuals also means low projected resale value down the road, and even with the discounted price it will be a tough pill to swallow.

    I don't see a T8 Momentum for 2017 - just Inscription, R-Design and Excellence.

    Hello All!

I'm interested in a new 2017 XC90 and my wife visited the dealer today and got the following information. Any insight or leverage on how i can make this deal better let me know!

    Dealer quoted this -
    2017 XC90
T5 Momentum with every package but the HUD which MSRPs at $55,955 But i believe he was using $53,955 as the price
39Month (he said thats the current offer but id only be interested in 36m) / 15k miles
$799 a month with 0 down and taxes rolled into payment.
    Residual at 55%

Let me know if this is enough information or if not what other info i should post.

    Thanks!

    A few questions -

    1. FWD or AWD?
    2. What state and tax rate is this?
    3. Try to get the dealer to give you the "adjusted cap cost", which is the selling price plus any taxes and fees you are not paying up front.

One piece of advice - reach out to multiple dealers; the competition will help you get the best deal.

Hi - I'm working on a lease in SC and need some help as I think the numbers are off.

    2017 XC90 Momentum AWD
    $56,184 cap cost
    $0 down
    12k miles / 36 months

I'm being quoted a price of $852 with a 60% residual and 0.00193 money factor. Both the MF and residual seem way off based on everything else I've read on this page.

    Am I missing anything?

Which Momentum? My guess is T6 AWD, as the base MF is .00143 and the 36/12 residual is 60%.

Therefore, the MF is marked up the max allowed by Volvo.

    What is the MSRP?

Bank fee is marked up from $695. MF and residual are correct. Negotiate a better selling price to lower the monthly.

It's cheaper to lease a loaded 2016 XC90 T8 Hybrid right now where I'm at in SoCal.

I'll assume T6 AWD as you are in CT.

39/12 numbers are .00146 and 59%. With your MSRP and selling price, I get $669/mo before tax.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer, and have them explain how they got there from the selling price.

    MSRP: $62,815

    MSRP: $62,815
    39 Months / 12k Miles/year
Out of Pocket $4,200 (First month's payment, NYS tax, Bank fee ($995? seems high) and $399 (B.S Electronic Filing Fee)
    $709 / month.

Should I go forward with this deal? or keep shopping around? R-Designs are tough to find in my area.

What is the adjusted cap cost?
Not sure, we did not discuss selling price only monthly payment. Was hoping there was a way of using MF and residual to backtrack from the MSRP to see if the discount was at a good discount.
    Thanks again for the help!

You want to negotiate the selling price, then make sure the MF isn't marked up by the dealer. Those are the only two variables in a lease.

Read back through this thread to see what others are paying.

I am kinda new to the leasing world - hoping you guys can tell me if we are getting a good deal...
    2017 XC90
    T6
    Vision Package
    Momentum Plus
    Protection Package
    Booster
    Upgraded alloy wheels
    $57,525
    39 months/10k/ 2k down - $721/mo
I have no idea what the MF or residuals mean ???? - clueless.

    * to note, we also have a trade in which is our Honda lease - they are giving us our payoff which is around $25,700 so it's a wash *
    * How do we figure out if this is a good deal? We were hoping to purchase but the monthly is higher than what we are comfortable with. Thanks for your help!

To calculate a lease payment, you need the selling price, as well as the MSRP.
It's no different than negotiating a sale. You need to know the price, and what else they are adding to the price.

    Hello Experts:

Hoping for some quick help on the forum. I am contemplating a lease on a 2016 T8 Inscription.

    MSRP 82215, Sale Price 70215, Tax Credit/Cap reduction 4558, Drive off 5k, Tax 8.75%
    Lease Price: 70215-4558-5k = 60657
    36 month/12K: Residual 36997 (45%), MF .00148, $1001/mo
    39 month/12k: Residual 36174 (44%), MF .00148, $912/mo

On the 39 month lease, I'm coming up with 837.75 including approx 67.41 tax. Can someone tell me if the MF and residuals look good and what am I missing here to give me this delta?

    Thanks in advance!

If $5K is your drive-off, you can't attribute all of that to CAP cost reduction. You have acquisition fee, DMV fees, dealer fees, tax on the rebates, etc, etc. Ask the dealer for the adjusted CAP cost. It will probably be quite a bit higher than $60,657

Acquisition fee = bank fee. You can't have both. Base acquisition fee for Volvo is $695, though they can mark it up for extra profit.
    .00146 MF and 60% residual.

Is $1000 the total due at signing?

I'm not sure what the exact fee was but it was a total of 1400 in fees that they capped into the cost. The total money down was 1,000 which included 1st month payment
