I did not check my hour meter when I got it on Thursday because I did not know how. Just checked it. 7.6 hours and 205 miles. Had 4 miles on it when I picked it up.

Maybe when truck is delivered, if it doesn't have not Goodyears, try getting the dealer to swap them with a truck on the lot that has Goodyears on it.

I would love to put a picture out here, but I don't know how. Can you give me instructions. I have a digital camera and can create the pictures. I just do not know how to publish them. Where do you put them.

When is the build date for yours. My build date was week of January 17. Delivery was on February 2. Good luck.

Got my truck yesterday, 1500, 4wd, 4dr, 5.3, locker, shortbox, autotrac, etc.

Nice truck, lots of power - no vibration through about 75 mph.

The overhead console has a blank out area - probably for the Tahoe rear climate controls. Sure I want GM to save some money through consolidating parts where they can, but the cover over the blank out is stupid. Does anyone know of a way to make this area useful? Say a sunglass holder - something anyway.

check post # 535. i believe he has his own web site and he just posted his links to the different pictures he has on it. when you click on the link you are directed to the pic on his site.
my build date is week of feb 28th i think. i forget. i hear of people calling GM for info on their order. how do you do that? Whats the # and what do you need? Too bad you can't get the info over the web. When i bought my Dell i was able to log in anytime and find out exactly what the status was on my order. pretty neat. we have the technology!
Ryanbab: I also like the Westin stepbars. Probably in black. Have you checked out the GoRhino! Sumatra 3000 series stepguard? It's a grill & brush guard with a step on the lower bar and a predrilled light bar in the middle. in chrome or black. probably gonna get black. I'm going with the Bruins - Black & Gold theme. ;-) I ordered a sunset gold 2500 4x4 ext. LB. I've only seen 1 gold truck and it was a ford. looked sharp too.
what a great site for info., huh? thanks everyone.

Does anyone know if autotrac is available in the 3/4 ton trucks or is limited to the 1/2 tons?

    My 2500 LT has autotrac.

And pics can be published using any personal web space. Almost every provider offers some kind of personal web space...usually about 5 meg. You don't need a web site....just a simple program to transfer the files to that space. Contact your provider about getting it set up.

At the auto show, I could swear that I saw a Tahoe or something like it WITHOUT the rear AC controls and with a mini-storage bin in that area. It was fairly useless, but looked better than that stupid blank. Sunglass holder? You must have the short console. The long ones already have a sunglass holder.

Someone asked about security...I called the local CHP and local LAPD and aked that very question. They said they have one on their cars (one had LoJack, the other had the other one). They both said both systems are good, and far better than any alarm.

I ended up getting a LoJack because I got a good deal (ok, decent) through the dealer ($200 off the lifetime warranty model). I had a car stolen once before and I don't want it to happen again. It was never recovered, by the way ... my dad's original '67 Camaro RS. I still have the Protect-O-Plate the window sticker and the sales receipt.

That gorhino stepguard is really cool. I like it alot and it looks great. I think its the best one out there for looks and the step is great to wash the front end. Thats why i might just get the gorhino nerf bars to match the grillguard. Its expensive though for the black is like$500-$600. The only bad thing is you lose your tow hooks the guy told me they can put wm back on but they might both be turned the same way. They have a computer system at rhinolinings where you pick the make of your truck color and then add stuff the blue with black nerf bars and grill guard looked really nice.

FLARES: I noticed that at a local gmc dealer they had about 30-40 trucks (1 2500 LB reg cab) and appx 25 of these trucks had flares. I think thats what people want now and i took a good look and it seems if u wash it and get the salt of during the winter it shouldnt rust they are on there pretty good.

Hey i noticed someone said they got goodyears with their truck? Who was that and how are they holding up. I also talked to a tire dealer ( i had to go there cause i got a damn flat on my S-10 had a 3 inch screw in my tire) he told me that he hasnt got any complaints on wearing or anything with the goodyear at/s. He said as long as you rotate them and take care of em they last.
I will be switching them but i did see some nice BF goodrich all terrain tires that looked sweet.
