heres the one that does

Sorry Ryan
Ryan: That webpage does not have any photos of the Silverado w/fender flare mud flaps or just the mud flaps. The molded design looks similar to what Chevy offers. But wasn't there a post a while back about the molded mud flaps rubbing the paint off ? Now where was that?

As far as liners, I have a Rhino. So far, so good. But I don't worry too much about the apperance of it because I have a vinyl tonneau cover from Sportmasters. Really like it a lot - much better than the GM one I bought a few years back for my S-10. If I need to haul anything that won't fit under the cover, just roll it up and secure it with the velcro straps at the front of the bed.

But what I really want to say about them, is to check the reputation of the installer carefully. One thing I have noticed, is that many of the coatings are thinner than the 3/16 to 1/4 inch advertised.
I ordered a 3 dr. 2500. found out yesterday that they aren't making 3 drs. anymore. Add 300 to the price. gotta go to dealer tonite and hash this one out.
will give the dealership in Salida a call. I will be ordering a new Silverado in a few weeks,
and now that you mention allocations, how can I
find out who has them prior to ordering or is it not possible?
Also, how do work down to 2% over invoice from the MSRP? That is a big jump. Do you play the
back and forth game with them till you get there? I usually go in and say I would like to see the invoice and after getting it I offer them 2% over. Not right?
I could use another lesson in buying, I guess, ha ha! Anything to save money, right?
Thanks,
Gary
problem fixed?
go to www.trucktrend.com and read the article titled "Silverado build-up ideas." I believe they installed a set of JBA headers. Said it was easy.
majormorgy,
When did you get an order number? I also ordered the week before x-mas and just got an order number last week. I called GM and asked about making changes. I was told that the dealer only had 4 days to make any changes. I had to order the blackwalls instead of WOL tires. I figured since it was in the system, maybe I could change it.
2000ryan,
Like I have said earlier (forget the post#. too lazy to look), I ordered a 1500 Ext Cab, Z71, autotrac, 5.3, etc. When my order was not accepted in a month I asked why. The truck manager had a list of options that were not being accepted that particular week. It ended up being the white letter tires. I guess GM did not have enough to build every order. So, I conceded and ordered with the blackwalls (265's). You should check with your dealer and see what options are holding up your order. Maybe it is something you can live without (like tires).
Thanks all for the Chevy/Duarliner info....
Rob
I've never seen rust under a good drop-in ... including my old S-10 that had one for 9 years before I sold it. Water (the little that might get trapped) runs right out from under it.
Spray-ins look nice. I wouldn't waste my money on one.
Richard
the other thing the salesman said was that the c/k would be fazzed out this year.
one thing i widh they offered are ICC lights. can't get them on the silverado but you can get them on the c/k. seems odd to spend all this money for their (top of the line) truck and not have ICC lights available. don't really want to have them put on as an afterthought. i'd rather have them factory installed. oh well. when do you expect to get yours? good luck!
They will want you to look at one on the lot. I do, in fairness. Good time for a test drive. But if they do have one on a lot, you won't have a chance to look the cost up if you start negotiating on it right then and there. You might not want to let it get away. Then again, if you think it over, get cost from the internet, you can phone in an offer which is also a good tactic.
You will have to go back and forth a few times on the negotiation. But if you start with a fair offer amounting to 2% over invoice, just stick to your guns. They will ask again and again if you can improve your offer a little, so the salesman can be paid a commission etc. If you don't make any progress, don't assume they won't make the deal eventually, as long as they try and hold you captive. If they let you walk, be polite, tell them if you can't make the deal they turned down somewhere elsewhere, you'll keep them in mind for a second chance. They will be knocking on the window of your car door, asking you to come back inside. They always do. Don't leave a big deposit. $250 is enough, some say less, I've left more when I hoped it would make a difference toward a faster delivery. It doesn't. Good luck!
As far as the 4th door goes. They say standard equipment, then charge $330 extra. I knew what the price of the 4th door before my salesman did. Go figure. He said they had not been sent the information. I pointed out to him the sticker on a 3rd door version on the lot versus the MSRP sheet he showed me on mine. Kind of scary that I had to figure it out for the salesman.
What are you going to do? What are you going to get?
Clark
anyway, i'm going in to see one of the owners this morning to hash this out. let you know how i do. i work outside and it's only 0 deg. this morning so maybe it will warm up a little by the time i'm finished. only suppose to reach 19-20. Brrrr.... could use those heated leather seats now!
you waited 3 months for yours. you must be getting antsy.
Hell...the last drop in I had for a decade..and the truck..it hauled everything and anything you could imagine. The liner was scratched quite a bit..but I assure you a spray in would have been trashed beyond recognition by then.
I love the idea. When I first heard of them about 4 years ago..I wanted one without even seeing it. As I found out more...I decided to pass. As time has gone by and I have been able to hear more stories...I'm really glad I passed.
Great Idea...looks great..fits perfect..doesn't move...Problem is..doesn't protect for squat!
You can get them sprayed thicker I'd guess...but do you know what happens to paint that is sprayed thicker?
When Ryan says he woudn't drop stuff in...well..I don't throw it in either...but some things are not avoidable for abuse. I needed some large rocks (maybe 80lbs. each) from the local nursery. he scooped them up and just dumped them in..it made a lot of noise and made me wonder...but nothing happened.....try that with a spray in.
I have hauled countless loads of Dirt...shoveled it out..no problems. Guess I could be super easy on the Liner and take small shovel loads to not harm the disco spray in?....nahhh.
Last summer I need about 8 yards of 21AA crushed concrete for a good base for pavers. Now this stuff is heavy, sharp corners, and compacts like cement.8 scoops of that being dumped in with a spray in and with as hard as you have to dig the shovel in...no way a spray in will last the shovel torture.
Now you may say "I'll never haul that stuff"...if all you are going to haul is boxes once in a while..why not get a rubber bed mat? I see so many people afraid to use the bed of a truck it's pathetic.
Even things you will do may be harmful to a spray in. Take moving furniture for example. You know those metal feet? Get one of those scraping along as you slide it into the bed. You can say that OK.."I'll just make sure nothing gets to slide in"..yeah right.
Father in law has the better spray in...a Line X...he went to get a light pallet one day..about 200 pounds..they put in in..and push it the rest of the way...pallet had a nail...scraped all the way down to the metal for about 2 feet. He had it repaired...if you had a drop in..there would be no repair.
With a drop in..if there is a nail or a foot or whatever sticking out...you have a 50% chance it will be in one of the grooves...or maybe due to the round rails...it may fall into them.
Other week I moved a Unit heater (you know..large heater on the cieling of shops) I'd say about the weight of a washer or so. We stuck it in and tried to slide...no go. We puched really hard and it finally gave...turned out it has a sharp corner that was digging into the liner. it didn't puncture it..but put a haze like scratch...and then slid into the groove. Would have been a mess with a spray in.
A drop in will not rust away your bed Ryan...trust me.
Why do you think spray ins come in colors and now glow in the dark?....cuz they are too damn disco and are for looks....not use.
If you want to waste the money and look pretty...but can't haul more than you could with a rubber bed mat...then waste away.
I'd like one someday...but not until they can prove to me they are worthy.
Although I do like the look of the rails in a drop in....as for colors...no thanks..I'll take the Henry Ford Logo..."You can have it in any color you want.....as long as it is Black."
End of discussion...(For me)
Major,
For $300 you should be able to get a Duraliner...which does have the slots for inserting dividers...as well as the ones for makes two layers. Most other brands don't have the slots. Some do...but most don't.
Bowhunt,
Yeah...Quad said something about that liner for underneith...but I never did get one. Just stick a liner in and forget it.

I dont like all the colors and glow in the dark u have to get black.
One last thing Tim dont get me wrong i didnt mean to sound like im not gonna use the bed i will for many reasons. But i wont abuse it either.
Oh yea everyone might be going to fort wayne next saturday and might take a ride to the dealership i have decided on buying from and possibly order one if my dad ok's it. (He has to sign the papers)
Ryan

Does GM provide the pigtail to go from their round wire harness connection to a flat four ?

frame, so there is no seal what-so-ever. My distributor at first told me that they all were like that, but would order me a new one.
When it didn't come in after 3 weeks, I called them and they told me it would be another 3 weeks because A.R.E. was re-vamping
the mold and frame for the 99-00 trucks to make them fit correctly. Has anyone else heard of this or are they handing me a line of
bull?
Thanks
Get what you want man. Lumber won't damage a bed with no liner.
I want a liner I can actually use.
Get a spray in if it makes you happy...(If dad says it's OK?)
LOL
..(sorry,I had to throw that in!)

You must be about 14 years old or something crazy like that. I have a '99 Ext. Cab 2wd, I bought the truck 8 months ago, when I was 21. I have a perfect record, and I only pay $1700 a year. If you are paying cash for the truck, you could get away with not having full coverage, although I would, on a brand new truck...
I have full coverage, but I also have a note...

Hey, I've been a female, driving for over 30 years, and no accidents. Watch it ya young whippersnapper. Statistics don't hold up your facts.
That's a lot for insurance..my son (now 24)pays a lot less with collision - he has never paid that amount..how come so much? $4600 is a lot of insurance for a year, with no accidents or (I assume) tickets..have you looked around? And by the way, if you live at home, and have insurance in your own name, and you're under 21, they can still sue dear ol dad (for years I made my kids get there own, till a lwyer friend told me it makes no diff), so go with whatever is cheapest.
I have an '88 Ford XLT 4x4, '92 Cougar LS, and a '98 Tahoe 5th Wheel Trailer, all total insurance costs is $990/year. Full coverage, with a $100 deductible. Can't beat that..Of course I am over the age of legal consent by about 46+ years. But this part of the country is absolutely perfect, where is it you ask (?), I'm not gonna say.
Have a nice day......
Roger
Also, I just turned 21 one week ago, and my insurance will be a little under $1400 a year for full coverage, with $100 deductible. clean record also.
In either case, just making an observation. I have had excellent luck with American Family. Never had any other insurance in 16 years of driving. Some people don't have good to say about them, some people swear by them. Guess that is a lot like trucks.
Anyway, just thought I would mention it.
