Deleting my previous comment posted in this space, because I figured out the dealer's miscalculation/error and want to post the correct numbers in the next post. Hang tight.

After two test drives, entered into negotiation on the 2017 JGC Overland 4x4 V6. After two hours (and several "moves," like trying to get me to go with two other lenders with astronomical MFs and low RVs, Ally and US Bank, until they finally caved into giving me the Chrysler numbers; which it turns out were also still slightly elevated, based on the numbers you just gave me) and much tangoing, this was their last offer:

    JGC 4x4 V6 Overland

    MSRP $55,560
    SALE PRICE $51,560
    ($4000 dealer discount
    MFR REBATES $4000)
    ADJ CAP COST $47,560

    36/10
    MF .00019
    RV 51%
    (Chrysler Bank)

    Zero Down

FEES: $1500 (not broken down, his estimate; and twice he accidentally called it a down payment and I said no, not a down payment--0 down and those are just fees, to which he agreed)

    ZIP 93023
    Tax: 7.25%

$599 per month plus tax ($644.38 inc tax)

Drive off: First payment plus fees/title/reg.

BUT. Something is very wrong here, off, because at that rate: my depreciation would be $23,197.68 instead of $19,224.40, and when I calculated the payment using those terms, the payment was $548.43 per month ($588.19), a $56.19 difference. I have been trying to figure out how they got those numbers for hours, as they gave me the scramble special (throwing a million numbers at us, me carefully writing them all down and several of them contradict) and it has taken me hours of calculating to find the discrepancy.

Plus, originally it was only a 3k dealer discount and in the 11th hour during lease negotiations he threw in another 1k off the cap to lower the payment, lowering the ADJ CC from $48,560 (his direct quote, written down and I took photos of his handwritten sheet) to $47,560--which would again make the payment with the above lease terms $548.43 plus tax ($588.19) vs. his quote/offer of $599 plus tax ($644.38).

(Re MF: not sure why this is higher than the one you gave, but we have a FICO auto score of 8; 729 on Experian. We have perfect, over 800 credit on Equifax and Transunion, but Experian said there was a "ding"--when they showed us, there was a discrepancy for a cable bill from 6 years ago that was actually the provider's billing error which was resolved and supposed to be removed years ago. Could that really be it? Why wouldn't they use those other perfect scores on the ones that had it taken off?)

None of this was put on paper, all done verbally (no matter how many times I asked for print outs) as we went back and forth, and I wrote it down. I didn't close the deal, because I still felt something was off (there were so many numbers thrown around and no "mock up" printed), and I still didn't know what the actual Sept. MF and RV were at that point (which limited my negotiating, so I did my best using last month's terms as a reference). Another reason I hesitated: initially they pushed us to go with Ally or US Bank, but the rates were so absurd--.00190 MF and 49%, "but with a 3k cap reduction incentive" (which would have given me my 20% off MSRP goal that they agreed to, but they sneakily slid that in there via Ally and then took it away after I passed on that bank, a bit shady, and tells me they pre-meditated pushing Ally because they agreed to the 10k off before we started lease negotiations and presented that extra 3k as if it were a dealer discount--someone else mentioned this happening to them on the thread a couple pages back); and US Bank .00235 MF and 48% (!)--and wouldn't give us Chrysler. I had to ask five times, repeatedly refuse those awful rates, bring up last month's Chrysler rates (thanks Michaell and Edmund's), remind him of our great credit score and not budge, insist on it or no deal, aka "I won't sign a deal where the MF has been marked up"--(thanks, Michaell)--and I still didn't know why the MF was higher than last month/if it was accurate, and I didn't want to bite on anything I wasn't entirely sure of. (Until I posted it here. Forgive the epic post.)

So please, Lease Whisperer, your thoughts--and anything else I may have missed or should know, re: making sure I dot all the I's and cross the Ts, to ensure I get a legit, fair deal and to protect myself from any (further) hidden shenanigans.

THANK YOU so much! Greatly appreciated. :)

    My brain hurts. :worried:

At the end of this, you did the right thing by walking away. Find another dealer.

US Bank and Ally trade off high MF with bigger incentives; if you read back through the last few pages of this thread, you'll see many deals made through those two banks.

You'd have to run the numbers both ways to see which results in a lower payment.

Unfortunately, we don't have those 3rd party numbers to help you confirm they haven't been marked up by the dealer.

    SUM - .00011 and 47%
    TRL - .00035 and 51%
Michaell, are you out there? Please advise. There is an $1873 discrepancy in the deal they quoted me (AdjCC of $47,560), which makes up for the exact price difference in the payment they offered (which would have an AdjCC of $49,433, which is incorrect) vs. the one I calculated.

With the ACC they quoted me, $47,560, I get a lease payment of $588.19 including tax ($548.93 before tax) per month, vs. the $644.38 inc tax ($599) they offered--which is exactly a $1873 difference in CAP cost. ($49,433 minus $47,560 = $1873.)

At a $599 per month payment, that would mean $21,097.40 in depreciation; whereas with the correct Adj CAP cost they quoted me, $47,560, and it's correctly calculated monthly payment of $548.43 I have a $19,224.40 depreciation.

That's a pretty big difference, that $1873 makes. (And I'm trying to figure out how they added that extra amount in/put it on the quoted CAP price into the deal somewhere.) Please advise. Thanks!

Which trim, term and mileage are these quotes for?

    What is the MSRP?

It will help to have all the numbers, so we can figure out what the straight scoop is.

Thanks, Michaell. All of those numbers are in my original post about this car, above.

    2017 JGC 4x4 Overland V6 @36/10
    $55,560 MSRP

The rest of the terms and numbers are in the original (ungodly long) post.

Yes, Ally and US Bank had much higher MFs and lower RVs. (So they said.) Ally: .00190 and 48% (he later changed it to 49%), which only offered an additional $3,000 incentive rather than the $8500 that other poster got -- and US Bank a whopping .00235 and 49%. (And we have 800+ credit on Equinox and Transunion, 729 credit on Experian--so those high MF numbers make no sense.) After I calculated them, even with Ally's 3k off incentive, Chrysler still had the lowest, at .00019 and 51%. So we negotiated the deal based on that.

The ADJ CAP cost he quoted me was $47,560, which he used to compute the lease payment. But it was incorrect, and should have been $543 plus tax, not the $599 plus tax he gave me. $644.38 vs $588.19 is significant to me!

I am VERY grateful for your help in this mind maze this dealer has created. Thank you for taking the time. I really want this car (last one left like it in the state, that I could find) and don't want to get taken. _/\_

The math is the math - plug in the numbers, out comes the payment.

    Using MSRP $55,560, ACC of $47,560, MF .00019 and residual 51%, I get a pre-tax payment of $548.43.

Just saw this board and signed my lease last night and wanted to see how I did. Laredo E 4x4.
    Sticker was $37,585
    agreed sales price was $34141
    ACC was $27657

This was for 36/10 and I put a total of $1225 down for taxes and junk fees, first month. There was $7500 in rebates as well. Payment is $259/month. I'm in Ohio. Thanks for your input!

    Hello!

This is my first time posting on this forum. I apologize is I'm in the wrong place, but thank you for the great resource here. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

I am currently leasing a vehicle that will be off lease in February. Am I correct in thinking it is best to try and find a deal on a 2017 now and not wait until February when I will be mostly looking at 2018 models? If so, what is the latest I should wait?

I am interested in a Grand Cherokee Limited in Va. 36 months @ 12k/year. Does the money factor of .00007 still hold true?

You'll still be responsible for the lease payments due between now and when the lease is up - figure 5 payments. That money has to be accounted for somewhere - and it usually goes into the new lease.

I'm sure there will be good lease deals available in February, when your existing lease ends.

    Hey guys,

I am looking for MF and Residual numbers for:
2017 Jeep grand cherokee altitude 4x2 36m/15k miles
    2017 Jeep grand cherokee limited 4x2 36m/ 15k miles
I am in the 33455 zip code (FL)

    4x2 Altitude MSRP $36,395
    4x2 Limited MSRP $37,995

    With these incentives:
    southeast BC lease cash $3250
    Florida recovery bonus $500
    jeep celebration BC $500
    southeast 2017 bc $250
and i will be using grad program $500

I would prefer to have the altitude. Assuming these where would my payment be?

    Thanks for any help!

We only have Chrysler Capital numbers:

    ALT 4x2 - .00018 and 46%
    LTD 4x2 - .00014 and 47%

However, the $3250 lease cash leads me to believe that this is an Ally or US Bank lease, and we don't have those numbers.

I'm looking to get another 2017 Grand Cherokee for my wife. She drives more than I do, so it would be 15K. This is the deal I was offered. I'd appreciate any input on if you think it's solid. We are in NorthEast Ohio.

    2017 Laredo E 4X4
    15,000 miles/year 36 Month lease.
$1225 total due at signing (includes 1st month payment)
    MSRP $37,585

I was offered $308.50/month for the remaining 35 months.

    Thank you for your input!

Great info saving smart ppl loads of money!

MSRP: $45,485 Less dealer discount and factory rebate $3250
Sales Price: $38,000 (with tax $500, max in SC)
    Could I get Lease rates for 36mo vs 48 / 10k In SC 29407

Looking for best MF RV or would you advise to get limited or 4x4 to get better? the year end deals make the overland price more equal to the limited models with the option I want

Please provide MF and RV for Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 in NJ (08033) for 36/15,000 and 24/15,000.

Also, is there a significant difference in residual value between the available trims assuming the same lease parameters?

    Thanks!

Chrysler Capital doesn't support 48 month leases
Limited is just a little better
4X4 is a little better than that.
