Another noobie here currently dealing for a 2017 BMW X5 xDrive35i in Washington state. My offer below is for a 10k/36 month lease.

    OFFER
    ----------------------------------
    MSRP: $71,845
    Residual: $39,515 (55%)
Discount via my employer: $2,874 (4%)
    Cap Cost: $68,971
    Depreciation: $29,456
    Depreciation @ 36 months: $818
    Money Factor: 0.00154
    Money Factor Payment: $167
    Sales Tax: $97 (9.8%)

    Total Monthly: $1,082
    ----------------------------------

I'm seeing that the money factor for this car is 0.00134 in other states, but not sure if this remains true for WA state. The offer above is also with $0 down. I'm currently negotiating this offer and waiting to hear back from the dealership, but what do you guys think? I personally think they could lower the Cap Cost a bit more.

    Any help is much appreciated!

Your employer discount sort of sucks. Is your employer getting a kickback? ;)
    Anyone can get 4% off.
Also, the base MF is .00134, so yours is being marked up.

I would shop around. If you truly have a corporate fleet discount, there should be a $1000 incentive (in addition to any discount you negotiate), plus a discount of .00020 on the money factor. (taking it to .00114).

    Thanks for the response!

The 4% discount is offered through the dealership, not my company. However, I just found out that my company offers a corporate fleet discount with a $1500 incentive for the X5, so I'll have to let my dealer know. Didn't see anything specific about a discount on the MF, but I can look into that.

Looking for MF and RV for X5 50. 36 months and 15k per year.
Was considering the X5M but can't find winter tires for the 2017.

    Found my answer above.

Looking at a X5 40e in Northern CA.

Looks like std MF is .00134.
How low can the MF go using MSDs?
What are RV for 36 mo /10K mi and 36mo/12K mi?
BMW FS is offering "$3,000 Lease Credit is a credit against the MSRP on the lease of a X5 xDrive40e iPerformance." (quote from the BMW website on the promotion) Does that reduce the capitalized cost but does not impact the RV?

    Thanks,

Yes... the $3000 is a customer incentive that reduces the CAP cost.

I just got the following X5 XDrive 35i Lease offer:

    MSRP: $68700
    36 months / 12k
    Due at signing: $3750 / all-in
    Monthly: $710/month / taxes included

They are also taking the last couple of payments of my current 5 Series.

Don't know the selling price or cap cost reduction; it looks pretty solid to me, but wanted to get a sanity check.

    Is this a good deal?

    Appreciate your inputs.

I'm new to leasing, does the math look right on this/is this a good deal? Seems high?

    2017 X5 xDrive35i
    MSRP - $71,070
    Selling price - $67,480
Sales tax in lake county IL - $2,762.62
    Tag fee - $196
    Doc fee - $172.15
    Elec filing - $25
    Cap cost - $72,650.46
    Residual - $40,509.90
    MF - .00170

    With $2,500 down - monthly payment = $1,060/month
    With $5,000 down - monthly payment = $983/month

So, the price of the car is $2500 more than in your first post. Did you notice that?
And, the .00170 MF is marked up from .00134, adding $40/mo. to the payment.

Hi, can someone give me MF/RV/AF(acquisition fee) for X5 XDrive 35i for 36m/10k. Does BMW have 24 months program? I drive less than 8k mile each year. Location is north CA. Thanks.
  • returningreturning Member Posts: 26
btw, I see a lot of MSDs here, what does it mean? I figured out the MF to be 0.00134. RV are 58% and 64% for 36m/24m. Am I right? What is AF? Thanks.

    Those are the correct numbers.

AF is acquisition fee, charged by the bank for all leases. It's $925 for BMW

I got MSD, it means monthly security deposit. It can decrease MF for maximum of 7 times. What is the decrease each time right now? Thanks

.00007 deduct for each - with 7 MSD, the net MF would be .00085

Thank you so much for the above info. Turns out the smoking deal I saw is a new 2016, X5 50i. The dealer is saying residual is 53% for 36/12. Do you have any insight into current residual value %'s on a new car, but is a '16 rather than '17?

    53% is correct.

The 2016 model comes with a $2000 incentive.

53% is the correct 36/12 residual for all 2016 X5's

There is also a $2000 option allowance available.

How does all this information look, it's for a 2017 X5 xdrive 35i with 1,800 miles on it. It looks like the residual is correct but they're slightly marking up the MF. I'm not sure about the other details and if it's enough of a discount off MSRP for the mileage.

  • cmyk32cmyk32 Member Posts: 14
Also, are there no discounts for owner loyalty or being a current BMW customer. My wife just bought an X3 through BMW financial.

    I show .00134 and 57% for 36/12 on the X5.

The math on the worksheet is correct. The MF bump is adding $10/mo to the payment.

The discount is over 10% of MSRP - you can push for more, not sure how much you'll get.

I'm coming off a BMW lease. What kind of discount should I shoot for an ordered 2017 x5 35d? I've heard 7%, can I shoot for more with no additional incentives this month.  If the dealership gives me a 7% discount and the basic money factor, does that mean that they are not making any money on an ordered car?  I ask only because I want to be fair in the offer I  give them. Thanks!

In general, 7% off MSRP is a good target. Some folks have reported getting more; offer whatever you think is fair and let the dealer decide if they want to accept.

Dealers are not in the habit of agreeing to deals where they don't make money; don't worry about their profit.

    Hi:
    Ordering a 2017 X5 xDrive40e for purchase.

    MSRP including destination: 72950
Negotiated Price: 65600 ( 8% off of MSPR and then 1500 less; yes, I know complex formula :) )

Is this a good price or do I have room to bring it down?
Are there any incentives/rebates available? this will be my second BMW; but I don't see any loyalty cash..

    Thank you,
    Kn.

8% is a strong discount, on the surface.

However, there is a $3000 lease credit available, so if you back that out, the discount is more like 6%.

Shoot for 7% off sticker, before the $3000 incentive. Then you'll have a competitive price.

I think then this good deal; The deal is more like 10.2% off of MSRP ( including that 1500)
As I mentioned, this is purchase; No $3000 credit, but I will get a $4668 tax rebate. So my final price would be $61k.

Shoot for 7% off sticker, before the $3000 incentive. Then you'll have a competitive price.

    Thank you.
I think then this good deal; The deal is more like 10.2% off of MSRP ( including that 1500)
As I mentioned, this is purchase; No $3000 credit, but I will get a $4668 tax rebate. So my final price would be $61k.
Ah, didn't realize you were buying, not leasing (missed that in your original post).

10% off sticker is a good discount.

What is the MF for Seattle area. I was quoted quite a bit higher than the .00134. The "sell" rate is .00174 which is quite a mark up ($60 per month) on a 36 mo/10k x5 lease. They haven't run credit or anything yet though.

.00174 reflects the max markup allowed by BMWFS.

Be polite and tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF.

Any thoughts on leasing a 2016 with 2K miles on it? Is this possible? How does the MF other metrics work?

    Hi,

I have a supposed corporate discount with BMW and hoped to understand if it was truly a good deal. I would be purchasing the car in NYC and am looking for X5 35i with 36 months and 10K miles.

For the corporate offer, they have listed a $2000 rebate and a flat MF of .0020 for each model, but based on all of the numbers i see posted it seems way higher than what i should expect.

MSRP as built is $69545 with the packages I am looking for and the internet quoted price is $881/month for a lease. This assumes $3500 down and a $925 AF. The tax rate in NYC is 8.875%.

Thank you in advance for your help.
