I’ll claim the 49/50 Ford Woody. Is the yellow convertible a 40 Ford?

That was my first impression too, but upon a second look I think it is a '46-'48 Super DeLuxe Ford.

    A Chevelle wagon I believe, late 60s.

I think I have seen the Squire you mention. I have a handful of 1:43, mostly period castings. This one is probably the most relevant to me:

That Dinky toy Benz looks great especially with it being a close match to your car's colour although the tyres area little chunky I suppose.
I think in the background I recognise pink and grey Vauxhall Cresta / Velox and a yellow Victor - both Matchbox - I have my childhood Matchbox cars in our loft although access is difficult presently.

The group of cars in that Japanese guy's diorama is great - is the Station wagon a 50 Pontiac ? as it looks like a Fleetline Chevrolet but with more chrome

    Yes, a 1951 Pontiac wagon.

    I'll grab the 1952 Cadillac.
The Ford convertible is a 1946 or early 1947. It is not a 1947.5 which had the parking lights moved to below the headlights.

The Ford in the original movie anyway is a 48, here is another view:

    image

Pickup is a 41 Chevy. When I was a kid, our neighbor had one very similar. He also had a green X1/9, an early Camry, and a Marty McFly style Toyota Xtra Cab 4x4 was often in the driveway - he must have been a car guy.

Some Dinkys have scale issues with tires - made as toys after all. I have a couple of that specific casting, being in effectively the same color as my car makes it hard to resist when I happen upon one.

Good spot on the Matchbox, I've moved things around a little since, here is how some of the loose car display looks now. You are probably familiar with a number of these. The Cresta in the building at upper left is very rare, scored it at a local estate sale a couple years ago:

I like that Matchbox garage - I had a tinplate multi storey garage whenI was a kid but that looks way better...

I the I have about six out of your top picture and bout nine out of the lower one - I note you also have a Snowcat box... I had a model of one of those but the treads perished - all my Matchbox models are in the loft - together with my remaining Dinkys, and I haven't seem most of them since I cleared Mum's house in Wales in about 2007 when she went into a care home.
My more contemporary collection of cars is a more recent development..

At the Seattle protest I see the cops have a Plymouth and the outer car is a Chevrolet - I assumed an Impala but it could be a Bel Air or would the lower model be Biscayne? I think based on the Chev this is 1965
  • bhill2bhill2 Member Posts: 2,612
It can't be 1965, the Ford is a '67, and the cop car is, I believe, a '69. Actually IIRC it is 1970.

Used car lots in the early 70s could be interesting, I bet, IIRC that was around the time 300SL gullwings hit their depreciation floor.

Dang, I knew that one too, was thinking about it just the other day. I recall Patrick Swayze's car was a 57 Chevy . Not my kind of movie, but my sister loved it, so I saw it more than once.

Yep Dirty Dancing. My wife loves it so I’ve seen it more times than I care to admit.

And yeah, 57 Chevy. Funny how it’s only 6 years old in the movie yet looked old then.

Hornet hatch. I had one in dark green but I think slightly newer with rear impact bumper. Behind an Adam 12 matador.

I don't remember the day of the eruption as I was pretty young, but I clearly remember the ash that was everywhere for years after. It was easy to spot alongside roads for some time, eventually kind of resembling snow. I was very interested in the event when I was a kid, and have been to the visitor centers several times, along with hiking around Spirit Lake some time ago.

I wonder what trim/engine variant this is:
