You're right, Fin, it's a VandenPlas Princess 1500 ca mid '70s. BMC utilized the VandenPlas name on a variety of luxed up Austins starting in the 60s.
The VandenPlas name is now used to designate the luxury trimmed Jag XJ and every time I see it I'm reminded of the awful Austin-based VdPs. They should use another name
Essentially it is a Nissan, a second gen Nissan Cherry... Like this one
It was made by Alfa-Romeo in a factory jointly owned by Nissan and Alfa-Romeo and sold as the Alfa-Romeo ARNA (for Alfa-Romeo-Nissan Allianza) in Italy as well as elsewhere as the Nissan Cherry Europe.
It had the same boxer fours used in the Alfa Sud and was the first Alfa equipped w an IRS. It was a commercial failure only being sold from '84-'86.
looks like a mid 80's alfa, cant say i've seen one on the road, could be a concept car or an overseas exclusive alfa (asia or south american only market)
I guess you guys haven't been to any SVRA (vintage sports car) races. The Green MG-B look alike is a Turner Mk.1, produced from '59 'til about '62, they featured Austin A35 or Coventry Climax power and were highly regarded as production sports car racers.
Well I used to really be up on all this nerd-like knowledge of Mustangs, but that (like most things) I've forgotten.
C-pillar is throwing me off. Looks like a 65/66 for some reason, but I don't remember those year Shelby's looking that "tough". So I'll go with maybe a 1967? I think that would have been right when the 428CJ was coming out.........but didn't they test out a few with 427's though?
is what I thought too. I believe the 500 would have the 428 in it. I wouldn't know if there was anything else special aobut it, other than it was an ill handling pig compared to the originalGT350, but it could do an impressive smoley burnout.
It is a '67, you can tell by the hood which became less pointy in '68 and by the fogs paired together in the center of the grille. The hood, brake scoops and dog ears on the C-posts were fiberglass (poor hood fit was a real problem on '67s).
According to Shelby's Wildlife a few lucky customers were able to order theirs with the 427 Side Oiler but most came with the 428CJ.
Stick guys is right that the '67, even if ordered with the lighter 302 (GT350) was a pig compared to it's very racy '65-'66 cousins.
Autobianchi Abarth A112 which was in production from 1969 to 1985, think of it as an Italian Mini-Cooper. It was a very early example of a transverse fwd layout based on Fiat 127 mechanicals but it was more stylish and the Abarth version (903cc/all of 70hp) was bitchin.
A pretty neat car IMO, not the least for being so tiny.
Sorry Kev, I had to take it down when I realized it was a copyrighted photo and anyway you got the model name right but the make (which didn't show in the photo) was Reliant (British) not Renault.

I knew the Corrado and the Maserati Bi-turbo immediately.. lol.
I would have sworn that early Hyundai was a Renault of some type, though...

Next time try covering up the plate. Looking at the plate really gives it away, now we know it's a Renault and it's not really a mystery anymore.

Okay, we know it's a Shelby GT-500 (sez so on the side) but can you tell us the year, the motor, and any other interesting facts about this car?

...because of this.
Pretty close, Bob, to be exact it's a '65 Merc Meteor Montcalm. How'd you know it was a Meteor, as opposed to a Colony Park?
Bumpy, sorry but I can't tell what, if anything, is under the hood of your OmniRizon.
