Really if someone would give me (since I can't swing one on my own!) a nice XK150 coupe (FHC) I would be a real happy camper. So start pooling your spare change for me :P
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
that owned an '59 XK-150 FHC, nice car but it was spoiled by having an A/T.
He made up for it by making his next car a '67 E-Type 4.2 also a FHC and the best car I ever drove, it was a four speed.

I see, by the way I was honest with my last few responses. Just though I'd give you a heads up. :shades:

...a Studebaker Lark? Not sure of the year, however.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
It is a Lark, who wants to guess the year. Look at the rear fenders.

    I think it's a '56 (Ace-Bristol) :P . Dang, I was hoping someone would think it was a Cobra.

judging by the grill, looks like a BMW. even resembles the older 300 series (neighbor has an older 325, you know, the small boxy one)

You have the right make Brian but you're off on the vintage. It is not an E30 / 3 series.

Close, it's a 1500 from the early 60s, IIRC the 1500 was the first of the Neue Classe BMWs so as much as any one model it's the car that put BMW on the path to becoming a mass market carmaker instead of going the way of Borgward and Messerschmitt.

    Facel Vega Excellence, circa 1958.

    http://www.sportscarmarket.com/profiles/1999/September/Etceterini/

I suspected it was a Facel Vega, after counting the letters on the rear deck. Did a Google seach, and lo and behold...

    Slick, I was hoping you'd think it was a '57 Imperial :P
It used the same Chrysler Hemi.

That is an MG or an Austin Healy

My first reaction was an MGA, but the rear fenders seem a little too swoopy for that, which kind of makes me think earlier, and Austin Healy.. mid-late '50s?

    Maybe first impressions are best?

I think you are right, seminole.. A friend of mine has a '61 MGA, and I just thought it was a little too easy... I'm going with MGA.

Innocenti, kind of a Fiat-based Mini I think
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
AFAIK Fiat had nothing to do with it. It's Bertone bodywork over license-built Mini mechanicals and chassis AKA Innocenti Mini,

It's one of those rare cases where Italian design was inferior to the original.

    a '67?

2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.

  • seminole_kevseminole_kev Member Posts: 1,696
that was my immediate thought. Although I don't remember if a '68 would look pretty much the same or not. (Guessing it would from the Mustang line, but I don't remember.)
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Tailights and grille are just slightly different than a '67. I was one today that looked much like the pictured car but I couldn't tell if it was a '68 or '69.

It is much worse for the wear of sitting in the weather for a while but still looks usable.

Sorry about hosing the screen size, thought i had the size scaled down but I was wrong!
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
It's a J2X and I'm sure details like hood scoops and air inlets varied from car to car
to suit the needs of different powerplants. MrWhipple your car looks like a Healey but the grille is all wrong so I'll taske a stab and say it's some sort of Jensen.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Take another look Lemko, that's no 170. You're off on the year as well.
