1958 Chevy 4-door hardtop parked next to the Hudson.

Nice point on the skirt matching the roof. I didn't even think about that, but I recall seeing that when I was a young guy interested in cars.

I remember seeing some cars with chrome fender skirts, but not contrasting colors. I prefer body color.

I remember chrome skirts as well. In 1952 I was 8, and the next few years were my formative years in car interests.

In looking at fender skirts in images on the internet, I found this interesting compromise! LOL

Chrome, AND body color, AND roof color. Kind of nice.

Now that I look at the picture in a post, I see it has a continental wheel as well.

Yes - that Ford looks like its wearing odd socks...

And that telephone booth looks like what I imagine a phone box should look like over there - based on so many films and TV shows

We are steadily losing more of our iconic red phone boxes, purely due to everyone having mobiles, but in rural areas in particular they are frequently being re-purposed - some villages have a free lending library with donated books etc, others a plant swap for gardeners - and in some areas they have a de-fibrillator for emergency use too,,,

Okay, that's hilarious! It's like the 70s equivalent to slammed pickups today.

I sure hope the skirts were standard on that pickup. Without them, that’s one big, ugly hole in the side of the bed! IMO.

Do you still have the Police Boxes or did The Doctor use them all and they can no longer be seen.
Many years ago I tried to get TARDIS license plates but someone already had them.

No, the police had those boxes back before the war, in larger cities I think. but they were phased out in the mid sixties before Dr Who appeared on our TV's. In London they had sort of pillars with phone in them, and those were still about until the early seventies but radios and the mobile has done for them too.
    .
FYI Dr Who was first aired on the BBC here on the day after JFK was assassinated.

(I am old enough to admit that I actually saw that first episode)

Binz-bodied Adenauer wagon, famous car in MB enthusiast circles.

On that note, here's an unusual one:

The greenhouses on those don't look quite correctly proportioned. There's the black one has a little Aztek feel to the design--parts designed by different groups.

The lower car has a proportion problem with body vs greenhouse - the body section is extended in the bottom/rocker section. The area below the headlights shows it, too.

You've got the right idea, it's a 1967 BMW 3200CS w styling by Bertone, the pioneer of the E9 line.

The green '60 Mercury out front has the same massive wrap-around front glass as my family's '59 Monterey, an over weight slob of a car which had the redeeming feature of great all-round visibility.

I had a '67 2000 CS. The front end looked so different, I assumed it was from an earlier year.

This was the 2000CS, often considered the original E9 but myinfo suggests that the 3200CS preceded it but honestly the info is conflicting.. Only a few hundred 3200CS versions were made.

@andys120 The front end of the 3200 sure looks like it would have preceded the 2000 CS. But, almost identical from the windshield back.

Wikipedia says production on the 3200CS was from ‘62-‘65. Not that it couldn’t be wrong.
