Mmm malaise pic, by the Escort at front row far right, must be at least later in 1985, as it has flush headlights.
Red 69 Mustang beside a black Chevette (with an older black Chevette in the second row), and in the back behind a big blue Chevy, a later model Riviera.
Moses Lake WA, you see the date. As I lived in ML as a kid, I know where this was taken - very familiar yet different at the same time. Interesting signage, should zoom well:
Interesting persuasive curb in the road to make you make a turn. I wonder how many times that thing was run over during the night, possibly doing damage to cars.

Our city planners want to do something similar here in certain intersections to force left-turning vehicles to take a more deliberate 90 degree turn instead of cutting the turn at a less sharp angle. Of course that means other traffic not making a turn will be forced to ride over it like a speed bump. These traffic planners locally are crazy.
That Land Rover at the tita base turning is a bit of a rarity here too
They made the original L-R on an 80 inch wheelbase from1948 and an extended one - to 86 inches -from 1956 - they also extended it in 1958 to 88 inches
They introduced a longer one as an option and that was from about 1957- it was initially a 107 inch wheelbase but they altered the model and restyled it as well - when it became a 109 wheelbase.
I think that one is an original 107 model and they are among the most valuable of all classic L-Rs
Looking back you have to wonder what Ford's plan was for Edsel. They already had a make that would appeal to those who wanted something a little fancier than a Ford. Did they imagine there was a gap between Ford and Mercury? It might have worked if they'd put more emphasis on style and performance.
That was a time at Ford when they had dreams of taking on GM in every aspect, and having 3 car lines wasn't enough in their mind. They wanted to take Mercury a bit more upscale and slot Edsel into the mid-price Pontiac/Olds area of the market. Unfortunately the execution was sadly lacking.
the British Ford Company developed a couple of brands here as they also did in Germany.
The Ford Classic introduced in 1961 was a Consul Classic, and they also had a Consul Capri when they made a coupe version but they also had the actual Consul as the third line with the Zephyr & Zodiac as a related brand too.
When the introduced the Cortina in 1962 that was a Consul Cortina but it was so successful it soon became a range on its own
They also tried the Consul Corsair but that was short-lived - it was a just a Corsair within months.
At the same time they had a whole range of Ford Thames vans and trucks ranging from the Anglia van to full size lorries.
The German Fords were mostly branded Taunus but they had a Taunus van range too - until they hit on the longest lasting name of all - the Taunus Transit van.
Fifty years on the generic name for a medium size panel van in Europe is Transit
Judging by the apparent mid-50s date of the photo I'd say the Healey is likely a 100 or a 100/6. I think the little wagon in mid-pic is a Hillman Husky. That's a lot of import iron in the boonies of WA state!
That little Ford Wagon is the upmarket version as we had a lower line called the Escort, and the upper line was called Ford Squire.
They had faux wood trim here but sometimes chrome trim like the side trim on the door
The trim level was more akin to the Prefect than the Anglia range and as with the Thames vans it got slightly more powerful engine and the Prefect grille
On the right border a 1958 Buick and on its left a 1956 Mercury. Western Auto, now that's a name from the past. We had one in Rhode Island. It must have been a national chain.

An interesting story with lots of twists and turns over the years.

Rockford FIrebird toward the back, and I think a big downsized Buick with primer front fenders.
far left, a 75ish Blue corolla. I had one of that vintage in brown.

and the lower left sports car nose looks like a Healey to me.
wagon is kinda cute. I always WAG on something like that being a Crosley. But that one seems more like a British something or other.
