I think the small car towing a boat is a Hillman Minx, which when towing a boat might have resulted in leisurely performance.

To the left of the 66 sign, just above the pumps, I think I see a bubbletop style 61 GM intermediate 2 door HT, perhaps a Pontiac.

Western Auto was big in the Northeast but not so much in the NYC area.

In that same far part of the picture, to the left of the bubbletop looks like a light-colored 1960 Ford wagon and to the right in front of the Phillips glass is a 1960 Chevy. dark color.

I thought that wagon might be a 60, at such distance details get a little weird, but it does have the beltline and kind of the rear wheelarch shape.

The Beetle is mid-60's with the fender top turn signals smaller windshield and bumper guards that distinguish from later cars.

I think the Beetle facelift in 58 gave it the fender top signals, at least as an optional item. Photo is from 1961.

Amusing that today, the most valuable car in the photo is likely the VW van at far right, with maybe the Christine-esque 59 Plymouth HT and the Buick wagon as runners up.
