The Chevy wagon is a 64, but I have no reason to believe that is isn't a Kingswood.

white mid 70s corolla at the curb (I had one in Brown in that body style) hiding behind a Starsky and Hutch Torino.

cop car looks strange. Nose is a Volare, but the sides really look like a Granada in that picture!

The Volare sedan really did look like that. May be why the coupes were so much more common.

I find it interesting the Cadillac coupe did not have whitewalls in the brochure art.

Agree, all the cars shown on the '52 Cadillac brochure here have whitewalls:

There is the factor of the US Government's banning the production of white wall tires during the Korean war.
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,181
At the time of the Korean war uk still had rationing on petrol and tyres - and also about 100% purchase tax on cars other than for "`Essential workers ".

This one clearly is not a car but this lorry is related to a rather glamorous car

  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 57,716
Car at top Humber Super Snipe?

Lorry front design reminds me of an ERF but I don't know trucks as much.
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,181
    @fintail

The car is a Humber Super Snipe registered in 1959 - a year later the car was facelifted and became our first double headlight production car.

The Truck is actually a Jensen - look at the grille pattern. J N S N

They were building aircraft components at the end of the war in West Bromwich, Birmingham and used that technology

They made light weight unitary body trucks alongside the Jensen Sports cars and sold quite lot of them from about 1950 to about 1956 by which time they were needing to devote more space to the car production side of their business,

Jensen were our first car producer to build in fibreglass on a big scale.

    The grille completely escaped me.

I see where they got the cab design:

  • bhill2bhill2 Member Posts: 2,516
Good grief. That thing hanging off the grille is a crank!!??? Holy broken arm, Batman.

And that’s a pretty base ‘65 Mustang, no backup lights, just like the ‘65 that was my first car.

Econoline delivery van with a 60 Ford behind it or a BulletBird. 59 Ford wagon @ right. Is that an XKE entering the intersection @ right?

  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 57,716
Ford at left definitely a bullet Bird.

Car in front of the Mustang does give me Simca or maybe Fiat vibes.

I thik the c ar in front of the 'Stang is a Fiat, most likely an 1100 or 1200. The car to the right could only be an E-Type Jag.

67 or 68 Camaro center front. 2 back from that is a Rambler. Amazing how few imports there are. one sports car, but can't quite tell what it is. Right side of the picture, behind a white mid-60s Ford PU.

Lotsa Imperials. One lane to the left and one car up is a 64, and one more lane over and one car up is a 60.
