A bit newer than the car. Looks like a 51-52 New Yorker.
Yup, a 1951 Chrysler New Yorker. Back then Eastern US place names were favored. Today I don't think there are any model names from anywhere east of the Mississipi. The '51 Chryslers were the first to use Hemi V8 engines but they didn't call them by that now legendary name..
Both the Aztec and the Rendevous suffered from a weird wheel-to-axle relationship. The wheels were too small but it was more than that. You can see on the Buick pictured how the rear part of the body seems to be levitating away from the rear wheels.
Time for something a little different - a scrapyard in Dusseldorf, 1987 - something here is unlike the others:
I would guess the odd hulk is the rear end of the 61 Pontiac in what seems to be the second row from the bottom on the right (it's the one with the triple taillights).

I agree.. also think it looks worse on the Rendezvous
The Aztek looked better in solid colors. Otherwise the Rendezvous was better, but the strong c-pillar upsets the design, IMHO as a longtime GM fan now in recovery.
I don't know if we've seen this pic before or not. But regardless, let's play our favorite game: spot the '60 Ford!
I really like the color on the blue wagon nearest the bottom right corner of the frame. It looks just like (or quite similar to) the color my father had his 1979 F150 painted in around 1992. The truck was originally silver, but the paint was flaking off badly from the roof and hood. In retrospect, it wasn't really all that old when it was resprayed. It seemed old to me at the time, given we'd had it most of my life at that point....

In ab's pic, I think the newest car might be a 1966 - at left kind of middle beside/to the right of a white Falcon 2 door wagon, I believe I see a Caprice coupe. There are several 1965 model year cars visible. '
60 Sunliner looks like a good color too - not white or powder blue.

FWIW the Valiant on the left side middle (behind the flattop Chevy) is also a 66.

Speaking of blue resprays, the ‘60 Ford convertible in that pic seems likely to have been resprayed. I’ve never seen one before in that deep shade of blue and a look at the paint chart reveals such a color wasn’t offered from the factory.
There are a couple of 66 Chevies parked across the street from the lot. The greenhouses of the 61 and 62 Chevy wagons in the lower right look the same.

60 Sunliner color reminds me of this apparent period promo shot of a "Town Victoria", but I know nothing about the photo - if it has been retouched etc, just reminded me of when searching for an image of this rare style:

That appears to be Belmont Blue, a factory color. The one in the parking lot pic seems much more vibrant.
This is the same color 1975 Renault 16 dad had as a company car while we were in France. His was a lesser TL with black interior and automatic. I remember how clunky the add on radio looked. https://youtu.be/TKtSZXSa_pU?si=xB7uBJWv3FC5uX2o

MB on the 405 is a W114 coupe - the coupe version of the car Michaell's parents had back in the day. Appears to be a 74-76 model with those bumpers. I agree on the Escort, image is blurrier than I remember it when I found it.

If I ever had the means, I'd love to find a 250C or 280C of that vintage for fun.

Not the absolute cheapest hobby car, but the platform in general is unloved and/or ignored. I suspect 15K could find a nice survivor with no real needs.
My first new car was an 88 VW Fox GL 4dr in medium silver. Total sticker with a/c and shipping was $8165 in 9/87. It felt solid, peppy, decently quiet, economical. It would easily get 33mpg+ on the highway. It was fun to drive. I never had a complaint about seat comfort. It was a good car, better than it seems to get credit for. https://youtu.be/IQpp94Zq5m8?si=HMGeXKpyM1ydOWdE

I test drove one of those when they first came out. Don't remember a lot of details, other than it seemed to be "tired" already. Or maybe cheap. Definitely didn't get me interested in buying one, and I love compact wagons!

Disagree. Only a crusher or a fire could make an Aztec look good.
In the scrapyard also a few Beetles, I think I see a Golf, a MB W114/115 below the Jeep and another on top, maybe a Renault and a Fiesta at left too.
