Maybe I just misread it. It looked like the Mazda was $29K and the Lexus was $35K.

edit: Oh, I see. I was looking at the "base price" on the Mazda.

IIRC it was '63 Chevvies that had the pointy rear fenders. B/ehind it is a Renault Dauphine.

This picture from 1966 shows the rear of Park Victoria Apartments in 1966, shortly after it opened. At the time it was the tallest building in Halifax at 22 floors. When new it was renowned for the number of doctors, nurses, and university staff living there due to its proximity to a large hospital across the street and Dalhousie University nearby. While it had 2 decks of underground parking, the open rear lot is seen here:



I lived in the building on the 21st floor from 1990-97. Had a great view of Halifax Harbour.

Interestingly, the building replaced a number of old buildings on the rear side of its lot including that of Purdy Motors, a Chrysler DeSoto dealer.

I think that's a Morris Minor closest to the camera and the long tail of a '63 Bonneville (or whatever they called 'em in CDN) next to the VW.

The older car in Halifax nearest the camera next to a Beetle looks like an Austin A40 Somerset. I think on the other side might be a 61 Pontiac with the distinctive "vista" rear window.

At the Kentucky mall I see a few 1992 or newer cars which may be the newest in the pic - Olds 88 at upper right near the Lazarus entrance, a Civic sedan at upper right next to a Monte Carlo, and a Camry at lower center. Other more unusual cars I spot are an Audi GT coupe, Cimarron, and a couple of VW Cabrios and a Rabbit from which they are based, also a BMW E30.

Parked in front of Lazerus, 4 K Car minivans, 2 tempo's parked nose to nose just beyond the guy with the Arnold Schwarzenegger body. Near the bottom middle, a flip up headlight Datsun 280(?) ZX.

A first gen Taurus lower right nose to the pickup.
Also a Cimarron between the 70's Nova and the 2 K Car vans.
There are actually 5 of those vans, not 4, in the picture.

close to the building at BMW (5 series?) and a Nissan Hardbody PU. about a 1990 (I had a 1990 in that design). A compact single cab. Can't get that today! Looks like a Volvo 740 in from of the Nissan.

A few BMC classics there: a Landcrab Austin 1800 lower right, a Marina separated from it by what appears to be a Toyota Corona, and in the adjacent row, an Austin 1100 next to a Swedish import 144 Volvo. What looks like a British Ford Cortina at the end of that row.

Also at Oakridge in Vancouver - in the nearest row I see an early-mid 50s Hillman Minx alongside a British Ford sedan and a ~62 Plodge. Morris Oxford next to the Beetle a row back, and a row behind that an apparent 62 Galaxie beside a Morris Minor convertible, and the red roadster which might be an Alfa or Fiat. The star of the show is at right, just behind/under the Oakridge sign, a W111 fintail.
