The Tsuru headlight conversion is reasonably popular. They are a bolt-on for the '93-94 Sentras built at Aguascalientes, but you have to redo some wiring and drill some extra holes for the earlier B13s built at Smyrna or Japan.
The Nissan dealer wanted closer to $14k, and I'm sure they would have come down some, but not to the price you paid. They actually had a markup above MSRP to begin the negotiations. Naturally, I walked.

Never heard of it. Good one, stumped me completely. But I DID recognize that DKW-ness about it I guess
It's interesting to just STARE at a car you know nothing about and try to figure out nationality and time period...
Andy Griffith = Ford.
isn't a '62 Meteor, it's a '63 Comet. I think Fin might be wrong about the 30's Ford Roadster. It appears to have a flat windshield which would place it anywhere between '32 to '36.
A '38 would've had the two-piece vee windshield but the Vee wasn't very pronounced, so who knows :confuse:

As you know it was common back in the day for TV shows to make exclusive product placement deals with car makers.

Honestly I never heard of it either, just happened to stumble on it. At least I didn't post a shot of the even rarer
VW Enzmann. :P

I know that's what the ICMDB has it listed as, but that's not a compact wagon, it's an intermediate. I was wrong on the year though...it's a '63 Meteor. The Comet was about as long as the Meteor, but narrower. At a quick glance they look similiar (and that's probably the main reason the Meteor failed in the marketplace), but the Comet's headlights are spaced out more, yet the overall "face" of the car is narrower. Here's a pic of a 1963 Comet convertible, too big to post here. Oddly, the '63 Comet shares more of a family resemblance up front to the '64 Ford Fairlane and big cars than it does the '63 Meteor or full-sized Merc.
Apparently the VW based model had no doors!
Here is a 2004 model:

Man, that thing is SMALL!
Well 1950's sports cars were very minimalist, stuff like windshields and doors were for sissies!
Note that the Enzmann shown in your picture has no wipers. :P

The blue car in the background is a Nissan
Primera, perhaps the white car is too.

2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
I caught my brother poking holes in the muffler to give it a "better" sound. My Dad would have killed him if he knew (maybe I'll tell him now, LOL!) Dad is 86!
Anyway, the little fins in the back of the wagon look reminiscent of the '61 my brother had. It had round lights under the fin.

Actually, 1971 was the first year that the RX-2 was sold in the USA. I owned a 1972 4dr and a 1973 2dr. (see my CarSpace).
I always thought that the RX-2 was the best of the Mazda Rotary sedans: slightly bigger than the RX-3 and smaller than the RX-4. More cleanly styled than either. I wished at the time that the RX-2 was available as a wagon, as were the 3 & 4.

Yeah, both of my RX-2s suffered seal failure: the big o-rings between the aluminum rotor housings and the iron end-plates would fail due to differential expansion (or so I was told).
I paid for a factory replacement engine for the 2-door. Years later, I received a check for 80% of the cost, as a result of a class-action lawsuit.
So Shifty, did yours do the post-shutdown explosion trick? I can remember that after shutting off the car... sometimes even after I had gotten out and was walking away, the unburned fuel in the exhaust thermal-reactor would ignite with a deafening BOOM!!! One of it's less endearing qualities.

RX-2/RX-3 -- oh, yeah, those early Mazda rotaries would go KA-BOOM and it sounded just like a rifle shot...I cant' imagine how many Vietnam vets hit the dirt every time that happened!
Well it's based on Fiat 600 mechanicals. It's the little known Autobianchi Stellina ca. 1962-64.
