What about the other two in the picture? Is enough shown for someone to identify them? The hood ornament on the 2nd one and the three side window configuration on the back one looks familiar.
I'll take a stab at it. I'm pretty sure the car next to the '63 is another Plymouth (it makes sense for yards to segregate by make since it simplifies parts retreival). The hood ornament and windshield strongly suggest a 1954 Plymouth wagon like this Belvedere>
The black car might be a '46-/'47/'48 Pontiac (Segregation again--P for Plymouth and Pontiac )like this beauty>
That is a Nissan Skyline - I'm guessing the 1986 2000 GTS although the wheels are different - there are no bulges on the side of the body as on the GT-R, but the wheels look more like the latter.
It's the TIV - tornado intercept vehicle, as seen on the Discovery Channel Stormchasers series (and as someone who as always wanted to go tornado chasing, I find it to be a cool show)
The Fiat 128 was the first FWD car that any that I knew owned, he got his in '72 IIRC.
The photo is from Vermont and if you look really carefully you might be able to make out the side graphic which reads "Fiat 128 Rally" The Rally version was a cosmetics only special ed. I think it may have come with a pair of fogs mounted to the front bumper.
The near car is a pre-1974 RX-3 wagon (small bumpers). The middle car is a 74 or later big-bumper RX-3 coupe. The far car is the "special" RX-3 SP model, which, I believe just added graphics and crap to the coupe.
I believe the piston-engined. version of the RX-3 was the 818. The piston powered equivalent of the RX-2 was the 616, which later became the 626 and eventually the current, Mazda 6. :shades:
james
edit: the first Mazda rotary imported to the USA was the R100 Coupe, which had a piston engined. version which was simply called the 1200 in the US. The RX-4 and RX-7s had no non-rotary powered equivalents, at least in the US.
I hope someone gets this so I don't have to drive across town to the Corvette shop where it's parked to hunt for a badge. It makes a nice warm spot for that cat.
I saw that vehicle in Dumas, Tx this spring in person. It was very cool looking as I saw it on TV on the discovery channel chasing tornado's the summer before. :shades:
Well what's even more funny is we had 6 reported tornado's here in Michigan, a couple weeks ago. :surprise: I never have heard of a tornado in Michigan, in October. The funny thing is a week or so earlier we had one confirmed by Central Michigan University. :surprise:
But the Vette is....? It has to be a '53-'55. In 1956 they faired the Tailights into the curve of the fender like this>
There are a couple of Corvette years that are impossible to tell apart. I was told be the owner of a '59 that if you don't know which colors were used you can't tell a '59 from a '60. I believe that to be the case with the Jet Tail C1s ('53-'55).
But the Vette is....? It has to be a '53-'55. Actually, it has to be a '54 or '55 since all 1953 Corvettes (contrary to the title of the book) were white.

How did they hinge the front doors on the Pontiac to keep it from crushing the fender bulges when it opened?
Something else lying in wait:
More like early 50's, that style (Zagato coupe) of Fiat-based Moretti 750s were produced '51-'53.

I imagine they simply widened the mouth of the U on the hinge(s).
Care to specify what year/model the "Pontiac" is?

The Pontiac looked familiar with that third window shape. But I never would have found the Pontiac.

I've always liked those '46-'47 GMs (except the frumpy notchbacks), still love those fastbacks.

There were also piston engine versions. I almost got one in the late 70's. I think it was a 303?

Is that pic from some oddball 70's Japanese car show??
In the background I see folks hovering all over a tan-colored Plymouth Champ as if it were a vintage Maserati! :P
Let's try that top row again.
I thought these pics were great. They're from a video about old cars.

It's sitting outside a tuner shop so I bet it belongs to one of the mechanics who has plans for it.
Andys120 had the 57 T-Bird RIGHT and I counted just the bottom row on my earlier response. Andys120 had 4 out of 7 right. I apologize.
