The 59 & 60 are virtually identical but a Corvette guy should be able to spot the difference by looking closely at little changes in interior and exterior.
I think you're right about the '60 Chevy, an Impala would have three T/Ls each side and satin metal inside the chrome across the back. I think you nailed the Lincoln too. Those late '50s Lincolns didn't sell well so there aren't many around and I tend to forget 'em.
I saw a '56 Premiere in the Franklin Mint Catalog and thought it was a Packard 'til I read the caption.
Actually, it's a (edit2:) 1963 Mercury Monterey Custom S-55 (as you can just see on the fender) "The 1963 Mercury S-55 was offered in four body styles: the 2-door Convertible, the 2-door Marauder Hardtop, the 4-door Breezeway Hardtop, and the 2-door Breezeway Hardtop shown here. The standard engine was the Marauder Super 390 V-8 with 4-barrel carburetor, but the Marauder 390 V-8 with 2-barrel carburetor was a no-cost option. Transmission choices at no extra cost included Multi-Drive Merc-O-Matic or 4-speed manual. If you chose the 2-barrel 390 V-8, you could also choose 3-speed manual transmission. "
Well, I'm no Mercury expert, but I do see "S-55" on the fender - were there multiple models with "S-55"?
Now that I look at it again I can just make out the "S-55" script forward of the hash marks. I think the S-55 option may have been available on other Merc models, anybody know?
I am never quite sure about the correct nomenclature for Ferraris, but I would call this one a 250 SWB (possibly 250GT SWB). Anyway, about 1957/60... I saw one of these in Piccadilly a couple of years ago, on a Saturday afternoon, being driven by Stirling Moss, but I think they were filming him from the car in front...

The correct nomenclature AFAIK is 250GT SWB, SWB=Short Wheelbase Berlinetta. Stirling Moss, my original racing hero, had as much to do with the mistique of this car as anyone. In one race at Goodwood in 1961 he quickly lapped the field of mostly Jags, Astons and other Ferraris while driving Rob Walker's SWB and decided to finish the race while listening to classical music on the car's radio.
You are incredibly lucky to have actually seen Sir Stirling Moss at the wheel of one of the great racing cars of it's day.
Goodwood 1961, Moss is in Walker's #7, followed by Mike Parkes>
The dates quoted for the Sceptre are for the saloon, but we didn't get a Humber Sceptre estate until about 1973 - prior to that the only estates in this range had been the Hillman and until 1969 the Singer. (They also did a Sunbeam estate for a very short while in 1970)
This car lacks the chrome panels along the bottom of the car that the earlier picture had, but the previous picture still looks stretched. I thought maybe the accent panels had a visual effect on the length.
I love the rose color from that year. I don't know that I'd order a car in it, but I like seeing it.
