Looks a bit like the Chrysler Thunderbolt (prewar concept car) especially around the fenders but those had no stand up grille.

Looks like a TOY to me. :confuse:

It does look vaguely prewar to me--the stance is too narrow for most post-WW2 designs.
  • berriberri Member Posts: 10,165
I'd have guessed some kind of odd home market Asian limo! A lot of their upmarket vehicles seem to go for that inverted C pillar look.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,581
Some kind of early postwar Daimler show car or a heavy handed custom Rolls made for a boating enthusiast?

1959 Oldsmobile, one of the cheaper models (dog dish hubcaps on this one).

    Yep, it's a Dynamic 88.

It's a 1939 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Labourdette drophead custom built for a New York furrier.

Right Click > Show Picture works, but it doesn't load initially for me.
  • imidazol97imidazol97 Member Posts: 27,707
right click | show picture didn't work for me. I did check the source code, copied the img source there and it worked fine in a new page. After it had loaded the picture once in the new page, the picture showed on the original two postings.

Any idea why some pics don't work--I'm using XP pro and IE 6, in case it's a browser problem.

It's a weird named German car that was recently driven on Top Gear...I can't remember the name
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,234
I can't see it at all - I'm using Firefox on an AppleMac, even right click isn't available to me - there isn't a little box to click on....

I cannot either, using similar computer settings.

Yes, picture shows now. What did you do?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
I'm not html savvy enough to know why some pics post here fine and others don't show up or only show up for some of us. It probably has more to do with the hosting site and their graphics coding than the OS and browser you're using.

And sometimes if you're posting a pic, it'll often wind up in your computer's cache and it'll seem to load fine in here but only you will be able to see it. Or the host site will actively try to prevent linking (it can eat their bandwidth) so they'll either block the link or they'll tweak the pic URL and substitute some other photo for the one you think you are posting.

Used a different pic from another site.

Hauser - no idea of the model, but I think I recognise the badge - and that's only by zooming in on it (thanks Firefox).
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Nope, I never heard of a Hauser, that sucker is a Gumpert Apollo, a very light mid-engined Sports car using a turbo-charged Audi 4.2 V8. According to TG's Richard Hammond it's insanely fast and handles like a race car.

It should, it looks just like one.

    only by zooming in

Ctrl + and - zoom in and out on pretty much any newer browser. Or Ctlr-scroll wheel. And there's always View > Zoom.

I don't know what this is - was parked at a neighbor's the other day:

One of the reasons I'm not currently using Safari on my Apple is that the zoom has gone haywire - but Safari is virtually dead on this machine anyway, thanks to a rogue update before Xmas (thanks Apple), so Firefox is all I can use...(and no scroll wheel or right button on the mouse)

The car looks like a 71 Dodge Challenger to me, but I must admit I'm not very hot on muscle cars...

The car looks like a 71 Dodge Challenger to me.

Me too, the markings indicate that it's a Challenger T/A with the tri-carb ("Six-Pack")
set up. That color was (aptly) known as "Gang Green" IIRC.

A weed obscures the CID designator on the side, I think I can make out a 340.

Here's another one without the T/A. It's a 340 six pak as you said. There was a T/A model and an R/T model. Don't know the difference.

I have another pic of the 340 Six Pak logo but it's not loading into my album for some reason. Must be a limit on the number of Gang Green photos allowed. :)

Rover 75 probably late 50s, and a competition beetle
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
    You're a little off on the numbers. It's a 1956 Rover P4/105S

Ford Pinto Country Squire or whatever they call their station wagon woody version. By the looks of the lights, I'll say it's a late 70s version.

I'm going to go with '77.. Those wheels are identical to what came on my '77 Cobra II...

I don't remember what they called the woodie... The only wagon that I remember with a name was the panel wagon they called the Cruisin wagon..

Looks like a 1946 Chrysler - New Yorker????
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675

'77-78 Cadillac Seville, possibly the Elegance model.
  • wgraferwgrafer Member Posts: 592
I'm not sure if I ever could tell the different years, but why not 1975 or 1976??
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
I believe the earlier Sevilles have a grille with a more pronounced eggcrate pattern.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,675
Yep, IMCDB sez it is a '77. IIRC the first Nova-based Sevilles had a less chromy grille that did not protrude from the hood in front.>
