Of COURSE, a Hoffman Auto-Kabine...how could I ever mix that up with a Romi-Isetta? :P

Si, I dunno if it's related to the Brazilian Fiat Tipo, prolly is. They're going to make/sell the Linea in India now.

Looks to me like one of the early Willys Jeep CJs. A CJ-1 perhaps?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
You're a little off Lemko. Only a handful of CJ1s were made and perhaps 45 CJ-2s. The version shown, the CJ-2A, was the first mass-produced civilian Jeep
    (over 200, 000 made from 1945-49.)

Cadillac Allante, but I have no idea what year - they all looked alike to me...late 80's-early 90's.

Looks like JR from 'Dallas' driving...

    Right on both counts Grafer.

Since it's been out here for a while I'll give it a shot. At first I thought it
was a late 40's Willys Jeepster, but I think they were even fancier than
this model. So that leaves a late 40's Willys Pickup or Delivery Wagon???
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Good guess, it's a Willys but not from the 1940s. They were still making them
that plain right into the 1950s>

I agree with the Willys Wagon, but because of the single piece windshield I'll bring it into the 1950s.

Well I'm a bit doubtful this is a completely stock engine but okay, I'll take a flyer on a pre-war MG TA or TB

    66 Ford Galaxie 500.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
That's right, Stephen, the badges in the grille and on the fender read "7 Litre" indicating a 428 CID V8 under the hood.

    image

    Two-time F1 Champion Jim Clark owned a '67 Galaxie 7 Litre.

More of a cruising engine than performance engine in common Fairlane form.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,486
The 427 was the real performance engine, and IIRC those ones weren't badged "7 litre"
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
Yes but the 427 wasn't very practical for the street. So the more utilitarian cars/sedans got the somewhat lazy FE 428. I mean, it was "okay" HP but I think the Mopars beat it up pretty bad.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,486
Ford didn't do full size muscle like Mopar, indeed. Prices reflect it today. Although a Galaxie is nothing to be ashamed of, they can be stylish in their own way and the engines aren't bad or anything.

I fail to see the appeal---it's not tire-burning power, it's not sexy, it's not a Mopar, it's not a Camaro, Chevelle or Mustang, and it's not a prestige luxo-barge.

Oh, they aren't that bad...and 390 and above cars can smoke the tires pretty well...having been a 16 year old driver of a 66 Galaxie with that engine, I know :shades: . Not sexy, but clean 60s design, and affordable. I think Ford sold something like 300K Galaxie hardtops in 66 alone, so they had some kind of appeal.

This evenings obscure car: Datsun B210 hatchback, not in pristine condition but it looked all there.

There was a Galaxie of that generation in our family too. We all liked it until I took it to school one Thanksgiving and a cold snap cracked the block. (Don't ask me which engine was in it; don't even remember the year and can't find a photo). The next door neighbor bought it and fixed it. Ours was white, and my brother liked to cruise the drunks in the evening - the cops in our area drove the same car.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670

I'll guess 1995, looks like an Si model from the wheels.

TRIED to replace the CRX Si but most certainly did not.
