    1953 Chevy Wagon

    That's actually a Pontiac wagon. I'd say '53 or '54.

I have always loved '62 Corvettes. I never saw a real one until I was like 18 or something (way after they were out). StingRay lovers say they're crude to drive in comparison, but I love the combination of old-style front and StingRay rear and cleaned-up side trim...not to mention first year of the 327. Give me one in any color but red, white, black, or silver!

imcdb.com sez the wagon is a '53 Pontiac Chieftain Deluxe.

I'm a big fan of the duck-tail '62 'Vettes as well. I'd like one in any color but white ; I'd like a Sting-Ray even more. ;)

Lancia Beta Montecarlo. The US version was known as the Scorpion.

One of the BMC 1100 series cars. I'll guess the Austin version.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,671
You're hot today Stephen, it is an Austin 1100, ca. mid 1960s. The emblem on the upper right reads "Glider" which is what the Austin 1100 was called in the Dutch market.

1961 Chrysler New Yorker wagon. This is kind of tough as the '60 and '61 Chrysler wagons had the same rear tail lights. The difference is noticeable up front where Chrysler revamped the front end to include the slanted headlights common to '61.

This is way, way out of left field, but from the seemingly spokeless steering wheel I will SWAG that it's a Citroen sedan of some sort.
  • jwilliams2jwilliams2 Member Posts: 910
    I agree, maybe a 1973 Citroen DS23 IE Pallas 4 door sedan.

The only thing that is giving me pause is that I think I see a brake pedal. Didn't all of the DS Citroens have a brake button?

That's not a brake pedal you see, Bhill, like the majority of DS cars it has a clutch pedal.

I was struck by how conventional the interior looks from that angle, aside from the one-spoke s/w there's no obvious giveaway.

Nah, it screamed FRENCH to me the minute the photo was posted.

Man you've got great eyes and a good knowledge of car design. I couldn't make out the dash or front end, so I wasn't sure if it was a Chrysler or DeSoto. I knew DeSoto didn't make a 61 wagon, so I just took a guess that it was a 60.

Well, the one in the ditch is easy....has to be a Cobra Daytona Coupe, in the movie Redline 7000. The other I'm not sure about, maybe a MG 1100 sedan.
  • stephen987stephen987 Member Posts: 1,994
The red car is an MG 1100 or 1300, for sure.

Car in background could be a Toyota? iQ maybe? Looks like it could be a Chinese imitator, though.

    Ain't she a looker? I love it.

So many super cars now are designed by wind tunnel, and not by an artist's pen.

That is both fresh and faithful to the original. A hard thing to do.

1992-1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate. These cars had a neat feature: a rear roof skylight ala the 1964-69 Buick Sportwagon/1964-72 Olds Vista Cruiser.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
They tried to capitalize on the popularity of the movie Rain Man. Remember a classic Roadmaster was the one thing Tom Cruise's character would inherit?

The car in Rain Man was a 1949 Buick Roadmaster. That was the year the VentiPorts debuted.
