Yup, BMW 1600 is the correct answer. It's sometimes referred to as a "1602".

Isuzu Axiom, 2002-ish? I actually like the looks and don't understand why is was considered so controversial...
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
That was quick! I believe there used to be a brand of detergent called Axiom. Isuzus of any sort are a rare sight nowadays.

I think that's because it was a truck made to look like a car, while the market wanted the exact opposite.

Can you give us a clue? Like, which end is the front? :D

Until I spotted the rear view mirror, I was wondering.

this thing is hideous. It looks like the front end of a Ferrari Enzo, mated to the back end of a Chevy SSR.

Looks designed by CAD rather than by an artists' pen.

Yes, it's the new Pagani Huayra, ugly but fast.

Did they hire the same guy who came up with Phaeton and Touareg or what?

Huayra ... sounds like you're regurgitating.

He drank too much, and then "HUAYRA" all over the sidewalk. LOL

Looks like a low end Ford wagon. I'd guess it's a 1958 Ford Custom 300 Ranch Wagon.

    58 Ford Del Rio.

That's right Tmart, the Del Rio was a spiffed up Ranch Wagon designed to compete w the Nomad/Safari in '57 and '58.

I missed the fact that it is a 2 door wagon, until you mentioned Nomad.

    The days before crumple zones.

I see a ~1950 Chevy at left, a 60 Pontiac wrapped around the pole, and a 62 Chevy in the background.

Well, I don't see any Beatle or Buick in the vicinity, but the barely-showing front grille of the white car on the extreme right looks like a '62 Oldsmobile.

Look how skinny the tires are on the '50 Chevy. I remember tires were a somewhat weak link back in the day..... Think 2-ply, 2-ply/4-ply rated, etc.

Yep (dang, y'all are fast). Bonus points if you can pick the trim level (all the exposed suspension bits should be the clue).

    Details on Straightline.

Tires are way better than they were (they're also way more expensive) but they still are the part of your car that will be replaced most often and are most likely to give trouble.

I thought it was a Subaru Legacy until I saw the triangle pieces in the corners of the front bumper.

Disc brakes X 4 = Focus RS (these are highly regarded in Europe).

Straightline calls it the 2012 Ford Focus Titanium.

"A new 2012 Ford Focus sedan recently came our way, so we had no choice but to yank the wheels off and have a good look at the suspension. This one happens to be a Focus Titanium, the top trim level that Ford has added to the North American lineup.

Titanium Foci come with a sport-tuned suspension and 17-inch Continental all-season tires. But this example has the optional Titanium handling package, a $595 option that nets you stickier 18-inch asymmetrical summer tires and damper tuning that's dialed up another notch to get the most out of them."

I'm sure you're right about the RS designation so that's my North American emphasis I added to Dan's quote.

It finally dawned on me - in the expanded picture the car next to the white '62 Olds is a '50 DeSoto! The tail lights seal the deal.

Great call Wgrafer! Me first thought was that it must be a VW Bug but those aren't Volks tailights but they match up perfectly with a 1950 DeSoto, as does the bumper.>

Biscuter something or other, from Spain

I'm not sure about the Spanish part but the 1964 Voisin Biscuter was the product of a French company, Avions Voisin, an auto and aircraft maker from the early 20th century on.

I know little about the Biscuter, a minimalist post WWII design that was quite different from the luxurious and technically advanced cars sold by Voisin during the 20s and 30s. I suspect that the Biscuter was the last Voisin offered to the public. They were sold from the early 50s to the mid 60s.

The 197cc two-cylinder was made by Hispano-Villiers so at least that much was Spanish.

I remember seeing one in a book when I was a kid, I think it even had a cloth body and a weird top. The ugliness intrigued me for some reason.

    Here's a blurb on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisc%C3%BAter

I'm not sure with 4 cylinders that you're going to "go anywhere" in that thing, and besides, does the Austrian army go anywhere?

Yep, it's a Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer, a 4X4 Troop Carrier used by the Austrian and Swiss Armies. I've seen the 6X6 version being operated in New Hampshire.
