First I thought that was a two-piece windshield...but is that the piece someone posted about earlier to assist in reducing the visible effects of windshield shake? Sheesh, some engineering (LOL)!

Yeah - as you can see that is literally and licence-wise a grey import - we see one round here which is the conventional MPV and that is badged Bongo Friendee.
Last week I was behind a Ford Freda - which is the Japanese Home Market Ford badged Mazda Friendee Bongo, as Ford sell a few models through Mazda dealerships in Japan.
Yup it's an E-Type roadster, the three wipers is the giveaway and there's the hood bulge and the louvers.
The post in the middle of the windshield was not uncommon back then and usually served as a mount for the rear-view mirror, as can be clearly seen in this photo and had nothing to do with cowl shake. There's no mirror on the one in the movie still because these are often removed when filming to facilitate camera angles.
Mirror mounts of that kind are also seen on MG-Bs and Porsche 356s, to name a couple.
I only remember an E-Type being a primary vehicle in one other movie, 'Cujo'. That actor didn't seem to fit it, either. I finally saw the original movie that this is a remake of about a year ago, although it came out when I was in high school. Not a movie for kids. I think the car in the original movie was a Triumph Stag. It was sort of a mix between hardtop and convertible.

Good one, Twiggy is the only one that works for me. BTW, the picture that started this, is from a movie that is pretty much the opposite of 'Love Story', or at least a twisted version of it. Director of the original movie was Sam Peckinpaugh.

Well, I'll take the farthest away ones. '60 Chevrolet wagon, white '60 T-Bird, '61 Econoline Van, 2-tone '57 Buick, '58 Buick, '60-'61 Corvair, 2-tone '55 Plymouth behind Corvair, partly showing wagon (maybe a '59 Plymouth), white 1961 Ford, a mystery pickup truck, mystery black one behind pickup, '61 Buick Special, '55 Chevy, '59 Chevy, and another '61 Ford arriving.
I believe the 2-tone bottom left is a '59 Odsmobile, and the black one roofline (and dash) suggests '61-'62 Ford but not enough shows for positive ID. The shape of the wing vent window on the white GM 4-dr hardtop says it's not a '61 or '62.
I'm guessing the possibly newer Fairlane is the white one parked in the middle, but I really can't see enough to tell.
Photographer claims the picture was taken in 1962. Maybe it was late 1962 when the '63s started hitting the streets as I noticed those vent windows don't have the curvature of the 1961-62 models.
"1955 Saab 94 Sonett I: There was always an urge within Saab's engineering culture to push out into more sporting arenas. The first evidence of that was the type 94 Sonett sports car built between 1955 and 1957 at the staggering rate of about two a year. That's right, a total of six Sonett I's were made."
I always thought the Sonnet was built after a very faded picture of a European sports car washed up on a Swedish beach and the car was copied from that.
Such an odd duck---but some people love 'em. I really like the very old Saab two-strokes. I'll love to have another one of those, especially the 850 Monte Carlo.
Pretty is not a word that I'd apply to any Monte Carlo; the were over-styled and pretentious from the beginning IMO but the mid '70s models have to be the worst of the bunch (I guess you could say that about a lot of cars).

No worse than the Pontiac Grand Prix's of the time. IIRC, they were part of the Personal Luxury Coupes market made of late 30's men with chest hair and porn star mustaches. They competed against the Thunderbird/Cougar, Cordoba and Matador.
The '70-'72 models were not too bad and could be had with some decent performance options but they seemed a bit formal, reminded me a bit of the Square-Birds. They were certainly much better than what came after but it's beyond me why anyone would buy the MC when a Malibu went for roughly the same money, had the same luxury and performance options (AFAIK) and seated the same number of passengers.
'70-'72 Malibus might be the best looking Chevies ever made.

I'll go with a Jaguar E-type convertible. The bulge in the bonnet and third windscreen wiper are reasonable hints. I'm guessing about 1964.

I'm guessing that this is a shot from a movie or tv program and the mirror has been removed so as to provide a better shot of the 'beautiful people'!

Well E types definitely featured in Love Story (I think that is where that shot comes from) but Twiggy drove one in a cameo in The Blues Brothers.

An E-Type was also in the Garfield movie, which also really stunk.

they are Kate Bosworth and James Marsden.
Note that LHD and RHD E-types would have reversed wiper patterns (comparing the XKE in my link to the movie still).

-two-tone '59 Olds or Pontiac, white '61 Chevy 4 dr Hardtop, black '60 or '61 Ford (or Merc).
Newest cars in the photo are '61s; that must be when it was taken.
Edit: I spotted a '62 or '63 but it's not in the first row.
It's a Ford Fairlane, can you see it?

Still 4 left in the middle row!
Actually I think it's a latch to secure the top. In the background you see the folded top and that latch is there, in the middle.
