Actually looks better in long hindsight than it did at the time. The inspiration was a Morris Marina, which the new boss of Hyundai took from his time at British Leyland. It did however use Mitsubishi engines and some mechanical ideas from the Ford Cortina; Macpherson struts and live rear axle on cart springs for the rear.
The sign on the right has "Over 1 Billion Served'. I remember when the number were still in the millions. Way past the years when those cars were daily drivers. :confuse:

Peugeot 504 in the foreground. I almost bought one of those (a diesel) in the late '70s, this looks like about that vintage. I'm not sure about the blue one in the background. I think it's a mid-'60s Dodge Dart.

Yup, it's a 1979 Peugeot 504 GS, Mexican market version. I thought it curious that they would use the quad round headlights there rather than the Euro-style compound lights.
Dunno about the Dart, they used that style '63-'66. Earlier ones did not have the sculpted fender tops. 65 or '66 methinks.
Wonderful car. YOu wonder where Peugeot lost their design soul after this masterpiece. They are still lovely cars, but nowhere near as individual as the 504.
Their natural environment was really on long potholled desert roads, ideally when fitted with the lazy diesel.
I had a 504 diesel---fantastic car---I still kick myself for selling it. It was a masterpiece---beautiful ride, tough as nails, comfy as a Caddy. Damn, I wish I still had it.
That Dart is a '65 as in '66 the shape of the front wheel opening changed. I also believe that half-vinyl top style (almost-copy of the '64 Studebaker Hawk) started in '65. I can't think of any other cars that had that style vinyl top before that.

Going back to the Jag MKI, the stately carriage behind it is a Daimler Conquest - so named because it cost £1066 (plus tax) when introduced in the mid fifties (1066 being the one date most Brits know from history, as that was the Norman Conquest, via the Battle of Hastings).
Took this from our hotel window in Harrogate Yorkshire back in the summer - more hatchbacks than you would find in a typical view in North America I would imagine... ">
Yes that is a Porsche 911 Carrera RS/2.7 that was actually built up from a '72 911E piece-by-piece. The real 911 Carrera RS was basically a 911S with a bigger motor (2.7l vs. 2.4l), lighter bodywork of thinner steel and aluminum and a stripped out interior as well as a front air dam and the rear ducktail spoiler (a whaletail was used in '74) and bigger tires. About 5 dozen street cars were made as well as a number of RSR race versions including the IROC cars and the Brumos Porsche car that Peter Gregg and Hurley Haywood drove to the overall win at the 1972 Daytona 24 Hours.
I'll just take the silver Skoda parked next to the first gen Rav4. Oh yeah, and the Honda Accord, which on this side of the pond is marked up to an Acura TSX, as our Accord is now bloated and dumbed down a notch.
When I travel in odd spots, I have taken pics of parking lots too. Nice to see there's another weirdo out there
Ford Fiesta Toyota Corona Toyota Celica Volkswagen Beetle possible Mazada 323 mid 60's Toyota Corona uncertain Volkswagen liftback then it gets too small for me to see
Yeah - my better half calls me a weirdo too, she says only I would go to Yorkshire and take a picture of a car park full of ordinary cars.
Right on the Rav4 and the Skoda - any idea on the model, guys? Also I din't know that Accord was an Accura over there... The maroon car on the other side of the RAV4 is my daily drive.
Nice Job Graham but the car between the Beetle and the old Corona looks like an Omni-rizon (Dodge Omni or Plymouth Horizon) to me, the only domestic in this 1981 Manhattan street scene!
You're even weirder than I :P ...I only take parking lot pics in foreign countries...but I do photograph my rental cars wherever I am.
The Skoda is a Fabia, I think.
In the back row I also see a Peugeot (308?), CRV, Mondeo, Passat estate, small French car that I can't remember (Clio?), Aveo, prev gen Skoda, Avensis estate, Corsa (?), what looks like a Leaf, a couple of Focus. Near row has an Avensis next to the Skoda, Citroen C3 at the end. And your Mito.
Funny thing about the RAV4 - the small one was more popular there, so to this day they get a shorter wheelbase model than the US does, even though it's also a 5 door.
That pretty much covers it fintail - although the Peugeot is a 207 and the other Skoda is an octavia Estate.
That was the first Nissan Leaf I had seen in use, as opposed to a car show, and we saw a few more over the next couple of days, helped no doubt by the proximity to the Nissan factory in Sunderland when we went further north.
The main reason I took this picture was because apart from the two Focuses and the two different Avensises, there were a wide range of different cars, including a few which I thought would be more difficult for you guys as not sold over there - of course, I should have known you would scoop the lot...

The body design was by Giugiario.
Not a great leap forward

I dated it '59 because I think that was the last year for those little oval front parking lights.

Was I correct with the Diamante earlier??
Isn't that funny. Because of the Japanese models, I had presumed that it was anywhere but the USA. Definitely would not get the Omni/Horizon

Many Leafs in my area, as conspicuous green-ness is trendy. Volts are actually not uncommon now, too.
And on the odd parking lot subject, this was in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Something is unlike the others.
