Today is the 50th anniversary of the "Columbus Day Storm" - a huge storm that blew into OR and WA with the strength of a category 3 hurricane. Here's one victim claimed by unreinforced masonry:
Not a Stag, they had frames around the windows and different taillights. Looks a lot like a TR-6, except I couldn't find a picture with a full rubber bumper.
I remember that '81 Monte Carlo billboard. I loved those checkerboard aluminum wheels. At the time, I thought the '81 facelift was a good one, as it had a hint of the '73-74 from the back and I liked it better than the B-O-P versions. I had a new '81 and '82 and my parents had a new '80 and '84. Their '84 was my favorite of all four.

A friend has a specialist AM repair business. I can testify to the sex appeal of the cars; both my wife and daughter think that they are very gorgeous.
As to the image above, the very beautiful future (I think 2014) Aston Martin Vanquish. Somewhere (maybe Autoguide) there is a clip of the car with lots of engine noise from the 6.0l V12.
I think it's pretty nice looking, a little more aggressive than most Astons. No, I wouldn't pay what they're asking for any wheeled vehicle. That kind of money buys a nice airplane.
Left side of image; Ford 2 door, probably a Taunus, Toyota Crown, (Series 3), followed by something American (maybe Rambler) and a Honda N360
Right side, A Toyopet Crown (Series 1) then a Toyota Crown Series 4 (early 70's), then a VW Kombi and a Ford Transit. Next to the Transit is something Datsun-ish, maybe a 180B.
There seems to be combination of LHD and RHD cars so I wonder it the still is in Tehran or something similarly Middle East, but wet enough to sustain decent sized trees
I'm not sure where it is from, but I recognize the monument in the background, and the plates. I suspect the American car is GM, maybe a Buick...but the front trim is kind of Mopar too. Very hard to tell.
The white car on the right with the red stripe looks like a Triumph 1300. Also I think the beige car with red trim beyond the Red Fiat is another Fiat, possibly a late 1100 - given the location and different trim it might even be one of those Indian built ones.
We never got the Ford Taunus in Australia, its niche being filled by the loally produced Falcon, which continues to this day (albeit on its last legs). However, an English born and Anglophile mate at university acquired one of the few Australian imports which was supremely ugly.
The clue is that they look almost like a Ford Cortina, but not quite.
Judy and I have just been working our way through every James Bond movie trying to recall which one was filmed in Bangkok. It is a worry that we can remember so many theme tunes! The only thing that I can really recall about the movie (apart from cars, obviously) is Brit Ekland as a very stupid secret agent.
Maybe a bit off-topic but can anyone confirm if the 1961 Cadillac Sedan Deville is the largest car ever made? I have heard this statement as fact and My friend's '61 is over 1 ft longer and about 3 in wider than my 1993 Chevy K1500 full size pickup. Just wondering if anyone knows of a larger passenger car?
That's a first-generation 1975-79 Cadillac Seville. I see a 1970 Pontiac Bonneville in the back, the shell of a 1973-77 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and the front end clip of a circa 1955 International truck.
59 & 60 Cadillacs were even longer...I can't find any standard Caddy sedan or convertible though, that exceeded 225 inches.
Actually, the 58-60 Lincoln nipped the Caddy by a couple of inches; a wheelbase of 131 in. and a length of 229 in. (58) or 227 in. (59, 60) vs 130 and 225 for the Caddy.

The mavens at Hemmings think the big gold MoPar is a '69 Imperial.

I wouldn't know, those Fuselage era MoPars all look alike to me. Are they wrong Lemko?

I didn't comment on the big mopar right away, since I assumed everyone would peg it as an Imperial.
Imports weren't immune, either:
Not a Stag, they had frames around the windows and different taillights. Looks a lot like a TR-6, except I couldn't find a picture with a full rubber bumper.
I made the same mistake until a Hemmings poster got it right and jogged my memory.

The Mercedes in the lower picture is a Ponton-era Mercedes.

Yeah, I look at that Mercedes and it reminds me of that old 54 300B I had. Definitely the Mercedes look in those years.

No, there's not much roll-over protection in a pillar-less hardtop.

Right click to view full image, and there's a line of other oddballs on the right, too.
The image is sort of familiar and the photography and colour palate has a British feel to it. Is it from James Bond movie?

Here's a link to the larger pic
I'll pick off the red Fiat 1500 at right.
Yup, the pic is from The Man with the Golden Gun ('74) which was filmed in Macao and Bangkok.
Given that it was filmed in the Far East I figured the Ford was whatever the Aussie version of the Granada/Taunus was. Did you get one in Oz?

The longest production car ever made was probably the 1973-76 Cadillac Series 75, at a whoppin' 252.2 inches!
So I'd say your friend is wrong about the '61.

My uncle had a '70 Bonneville like that one... only his was a sedan...
