No. There is no picture. I get a recangular box in portrait fashion with a red "x" in it. I turned off firewall. I reloaded the page. No picture. Is it possible the picture loaded once for you and is in your temp files when you reload the page, but the picture is not coming through from the net now?
Still fairly ugly. Would you be willing to go back into your source and show a '61? I want to illustrate why I only called the '60 fairly ugly. Thanks.

Actually it's kind a hard tell from the photo whether that car is based on the 80/Fox or the Audi 100/5000, it's an Audi 100 Avant GLS (1978). Audi used to make a lot of hatchbacks but never exported them to the USA.
Here's a tough one...you guys are getting too good and you need more of a challenge, and perhaps a chastising
These are the same make and model.
HINT: Probably the ONLY car you'll ever hear about from this country in the UK.
HINT: Whilst this model was only made in numbers of 200, they made other models from 1959 and perhaps 2,000 cars total----so they aren't kits and they aren't one-offs!!
The Sonoramic Commander an outstanding example of engineering in the sequence of domed combustion chambers leading up the Hemi then and of course significant because of Chrysler's success having revived the Hemi name Now.
What a set of plumbing. I don't know I've seen one of these at a cruise in.
Recall those " what's a Matador " ads? When American Motors was reduced to the point of making fun of their own cars, it was both humors and sad. They built some cool looking cars. The Javelin and AMX were pretty awesome. Even the Pacer and Gremlin, as weird as they are, have character. Today there is little fun with cars, other than say the PT and VW New Beetles. Most cars are just too bland. I would welcome a Matador. Actually pretty good flowing lines.
Alright Shifty, the cars in question are Gilbern Invaders. The one on the right being their first model, the one on the left being a 1966 or up model called the Genie.
Went into production in 1959 in Llantwit, Wales. First modelsd used MGA engines, the Genies used used Ford V6s.
Now you are dealing with cars from my homeland - I'm originally from South Wales. Gilberns were made in Llantwit Fadre, near Pontypridd, and most of them were kit cars because there were tax advantages for people who bought a kit rather than a finished model, before the tax system changed in 1973 - hence Gilbern went bust in 1974 - along with a number of other kit makers. Invader was a model name, the older one on the right is indeed a Genie, and I know someone who has one of these now, although there can't be that many of them left. I think the Genie finished in 1969, and was replaced by the Invader, which continued until 74 in various forms. The older one was called the GT, either 1600 or 1800, the latter using 1798cc MGB engine. They were quite successful, esp. in Wales - I had a friend who had an Invader in the 70's and I rode in it a few times, but without the tax advantage they couldn't compete with the Capri etc....
Car production was never a strong point in Wales, the only other makers I can think of really are obscure- there was a cyclecar in the twenties called the Gwalia from Cardiff and in the early fifties Kieft made a few racing cars and one or two for the road in my home town of Bridgend, but they moved to Wolverhampton, England soon afterwards. Lot of car engiines are made there though- Ford have a huge engine plant outside Bridgend making pretty well everything for Europe including smaller Jag engines (ie X-type)
How you guys can tell one engine from another beats me - I would be hard pressed to identify the engine in my own Fiat, although there is a lot less of it!
All except the Pacer - first time I saw one of those in the 70's, the word character didn't really come to mind....Although at the time we were still being offered Austin Allegros (I even drove one of those, once - complete with squared steering wheel - its hard to drive a car with a bag over your head so no one will recognise you),so it wasn't the worst thing on the road, and at least here the Pacer was rare.
Thanks guys, good responses. I figured that most of us here had never seen a car made in Wales before! I thought both of the ones I pictured were Genies.
No idea on the answer, but a little Googling led to this tidbit:
Buick is the brand name stamped on over 25 million cars in the USA. This car is the named after David Dunbar Buick, a Scot who immigrated to the U.S. in 1856. Buick started out as a plumber at age 15, and is credited with developing a method for bonding enamel to cast iron; a process responsible for our blue bathtubs and pink sinks. But David's passion was the internal combustion engine. In 1899, in the city of Detroit, he formed the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, manufacturer of gasoline engines. David also patented a carburetor and designed an automobile, but business debts and failed investments prevented him from realizing profits from his inventions. He died, impoverished, in 1929. But General Motors saluted his inventiveness in 1937 when it adopted the Buick name and family crest for its new line of cars.
Many companies have built London Black Cabs over the last 100+ years including Morris, Wollesley and even Renault. Most post war cabs have been Austin FX3s or FX4s. AFAIK Austin didn't make cars in Scotland.
Are you thinking of Beardmore which made prewar Black Cabs?
Yes, one year after the PT came out, the designer jumped ship to GM, then four years later we see the HHR. Should be a good selling car. Sort of a more conservative looking PT. The gas mileage should be slightly better.
Then there are other cars like the Mini Cooper are cool too!
I think a photo of a Cobalt may stump everyone. Looks like every other FWD car in its class. At certain angle shots, people would scratch their heads and wonder as to what is that car?
