All Hillman Imps, and the derivative models - Singer Chamois/Sunbeam Imp/Stilletto etc. were made at Linwood in Scotland. Prewar there was Angus-Sanderson and Argyll (saw a 1900 Argyll in London last week at the London Brighton veteran car run...) but I think there must have been some other postwar Scottish cars, mostly kits I should imagine. Albion also made cars pre WW1, but were still making buses and trucks - as part of Leyland group - until early 70s. Re the Probe, I saw one of these at a car show once - it only came up to about my knees, and to get out would have involved severe contortions.
Yep it's the 1 series hatch, specifically a 120d, the top model is a 130i which is supposed to be quite fast and very nice handling. Euro 1 series range from 1.6 fours to 3.0 sixes as well as diesel version.
We'll likely get Coupe & convertible versions. I can't argue that the A3 is the better looking car but I'd seriously consider a Oner at the same price level.
The 130i is kinda heavy, that sort of defeats the purpose of a small hatch. I would just get a Cooper S.
A lot of people might think that since the Bimmer outweighs the MCS by a little over 500 lbs. Others would note that only 50% of the 130i's weight is up front and go for the neutral hanfling as well as the BMW ambience.
There is actually a story to go with this... Audi sued one of the Italian manufacturers -- I think it was Alfa, not Ferrari, who isn't a competitor -- over their use of the word "quattro" in quattro valvole.
Audi won. I'm thinking this was in German court, not under European trade laws, because I was not aware that you can take another country's numerals and hold them hostage.
61 Chevy Biscayne 2 door hardtop...However...Do I spy the crossed flags up there on the front fender that signify a large v-8...maybe a 409? Maybe a 62..Get them confused..I had one of these in a station wagon..283 two barrel..2 speed powerglide tranny..Great car..
61 Chev but I think the 283 also had flags. I had one as a user car while a wrecked one was repaired that I just kept. I'm pretty sure it had the flags also. Maybe there was a difference in the flags, but I believe it had flags. And a Powerglide tranny that still ran when I had it towed to a salvage yard.
That's right it's a '62 Plain Jayne Biscayne... nuthin' fancy except the Bubble Top HT but it is a 409.
The confusion with the model year is I think because there's no satin silver across the rear as on the higher line Chevys for '62. That wasn't the case in '61.
Does any one know anything about the manufacturer a 1981 Datsun/Nissan 200sx S110-convertible? I have never seen another one on the road, and I cannot find anything on the net about her. HELP!
Fintail, thank you for the info. Where would I find information and history about ASC Datsun conversions? Also, I have been trying to upload a pix of her, but I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?
To upload pictures of your car, you have to first place them somewhere on a photo hosting website like photobucket. Once you do that then you can click on the IMG button below the merssage box, paste the link to your photo and voila! pics will appear.
I also agree with fintail, I don't believe there was ever a 1981 Nissan/Datsun convertible. Either ASC or other aftermarket conversion. How long have you had the car?
Although this looks like a Pobeida M20, the grille looks different. This is a Warszawa which was made in Poland from Pobeida dies until long after they stopped making it in Russia, (1956), but I believe the Warszawa was available in this shell until the mid sixties, and also with a squarer boot, which then continued until the early 70's.There was also a wagon.
You'd probably be best to search google and find a 200SX owners group. I know they are out there, and every car has some obsessive nut who could tell you every last detail about your car. I am sure that car had a production run of no more than a few hundred, and those cars didn't age well in many climates, so not many could be left.
Who did the Toyota Celica convertibles in 80-81? Maybe the same group did the Datsuns. It was a bit of a fad in the early 80s to convert cars...I've seen it on big GM coupes, MB 126 coupes, BMW 6ers, etc.

I much prefered the CS1 concept. This hatch comes off looking stubby and unfinished. The A3 is far more handsome.

I've seen the 1 Series, and in the US it could be very popular due to the fact that it is an affordable BMW.

The ad doesn't give the model name, it says simply "'60 Chevy Stepside". I guess it's a C-10 or it's 1960 equivalent.

Did the later 346 look the same (just a bigger engine or something), or did it also have a different body?

QV stands for Quattro Valvole. 20 years ago four valves/cylinder was a big deal.
