It's a 1950 Caddy 62, light years ahead of competitors in many ways including style.

The interior is of a Corvette StingRay, probably a '66 or '67 (note optional wood rim SW).

Corvette Stingray is correct. I saw it at the local auto show. It was white, fully restored with a 427.

I'm going to say some 60s Dodge for 4028.

    You aren't looking close enough, the O L D S M O B I L E on the front didn't stand out? ;)

Guess my eyesight is not so good....... :(

But in any case what Oldsmobile model is it?
  • imidazol97imidazol97 Member Posts: 27,686

That's why I thought it was a 62. That was my first guess then I went out looking.

Were all three years identical in the front grills?

You may be right about #4023, The picture I used was labeled as a 1950 Series 62 but there was very little change in the look of Cadillacs between 1950 and 1953.

The radical change came in '54 with the intro of the wraparound windshield which was used in '53 for Eldorados only.

    The Oldsmobile convertible is a 1964 "98".

I always liked the second generation RX-7, even though the press panned the styling as "derivative". The convertible was particularly attractive.

I guess that they were significantly heavier and less agile than the originals. I have owned three rotary Mazdas, but never an RX-7.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
I too liked the gen II RX-7s. They were similar to the Porsche 944 but in some ways looked better.

I believe the RX-7 came in convertible form before the 944.

The pictured car is a 1988 model that's been converted to LS1 V8 power. :confuse:

Does the 810 on the license plate mean something? :grin

I don't know the European cars... but that's a good hint?

Datsun 810, which evolved into the Maxima.

Not good at posting pictures and such so I will just give a link.

It is not a picture but raher a museum here in Nashville that specializes in old cars, mostly of European heritage. They have some pretty cool stuff ontheir website but would be nice if there were more pictures. I plan on visiting one day int he near future jsut to see waht they have. I used to work down the street from the place and the owner was always driving one of the cars around town.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Yep, it's Datsun's luxurious :P 810 a rwd car that preceeded the Maxima.

That museum looks cool, might be worth the trip just for the Tatras

The white GT is a Ferrari Superfast, I think it would be a "500". Very pricey and exclusive when new.
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
Superfast indeed. 5.0 liter V12 rated at 400bhp, 155 mph. Produced 1964-66, about 36 made.

Wow, now finally someone else starts posting obscure Asian vehicles! :P

I'm with juice, probably a Daihatsu, Geely, Chery or some other Korean/Malaysian/Chinese manufacturer.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
It's a Honda, if you squint you can read the model name on the Lic. plate: "Capa". :P

Never heard of that model. Weird.

I'll guess Mercury Capri for that red car, though I honestly have no idea.

66 chev 396 motor? Were the flags different in size? I can't read the numbers. 327's also were in some.

#4055 looks like a Ford Maverick with the "Grabber" package...

From the look of the front end, I'll guess it's a 1972 model.

Almost certainly Citroen DS-based, maybe some kind of Chapron conversion

I remember one of the car mags, I think it was M/T (which I held in low regard anyway), ran a comparison test of the Maverick Grabber vs the rotary-engined. RX-2 Coupe. I was most indignant that the M/T staff was so obtuse as to prefer the Maverick over the Mazda!!! :P

Some kind of chevy, I'll guess Impala, with what looks like a Corvette logo so I'll say it has a Corvette V8 in it.

Isn't this the same year as the red convertible. They have different bumper guards but those were options at the time. This is the stripper model. That flag symbol isn't the 396 symbol that I just saw on a 66 on Saturday. Is it the 327?

    2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,

    Actually it's a Biscayne, which was considered a hot-rod.

    -Brian
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,477
    66 Biscayne I believe...I wonder if its a 427 car
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
The '66 Biscayne would most likely be a 396 or a 409. I remember '67 as the first year for the 427, but I could be wrong. :confuse:

    Anyone recall these?>>

Just a reminder to check the size of images before you add them to your posts. Anything wider than about 500 pixels causes a problem with the margins and forces the message area of the forums out under the video bar on the right.

So please check the size of the image you're planning on posting. All is not lost if the image is too large as you can simply post a link to the image. That way, it will open in a new window, everyone can still see the image, and we won't have the margin problems.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,477
Why are the margins so narrow anyway? To suit people still using 1993 style displays?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
    It should fit nicely. :)

The little MG clone is a Singer, I forget the model names for those

    pf - your link is a 404
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Yup, it's a '53 Singer SM, not really an MG clone as Singer (and everyone else) made cars that looked much like that before World War Two.

    I think.

Mazda5 had been popular so far, despite a stumble at the launch due to people not knowing how to operate a sportshift trans (but that's another story...).

I wonder if that'll inspire other makes to bring lil' people movers over here again?

Ford C-Max it is. Microvans are all the rage in Europe, in Italy they call 'em multispazi
