I saw Peter Frampton at my local dealership, checking out the Z8. I think about 2002... Had to explain to my son who he was... lol

They don't provide a lot of photos, but here is an opportunity to restore LOTS of cars.
foxnews.com/leisure/2014/02/28/field-thousands-classic-car-dreams-up-for-sale/?intcmp=HPBucket
Yup, that's a BMW Z8, BMW's attempt to recreate the panache of the legendary 507.
They didn't succeed entirely but it'll cost you a pretty penny to acquire a Z8.

G'day
It is a mid to late 1950's Ford Anglia, but I don't recognize the rear lights which look like US cars of the era. Did exports to the USA get special trim treatment?
Cheers
Graham
Citroen C1 city car.
Now that PSA is Chinese owned, maybe it'll be a great option for China.
That's correct, the C1 was co-developed with the Peugeot 107 and the Toyota/Scion iQ. A newer version has just been announced.

The pictured car is obviously a LHD export model but not many ever came to the USA so I doubt we got any with special trim. I'm not sure the 100E was ever sold here officially but the 105E with it's distinctive rear window slant was not an unfamiliar sight. I met a guy at Sebring in 1967 who owned one.
Perhaps the pink car was exported to the Continent France, Italy , Belgium?).

I think the 100E was sold in the US for a short time - if not, more likely in Canada, which received a lot more British material. 105E must have been sold in NA for awhile, I've seen a few in my days, and they were getting old when I was born.

Just noticed the plate. So I agree with you about 51. Plus probably owned by Dan.

You guys are on the ball today. The green machine is a 1951 Studebaker 2R6-12

I thought the ebay listing was pretty cool.
When those Studebaker pickups (2R series) came out in mid-'48 as a '49 model, they were pretty advanced for the time. The running board is hidden inside the door; the bed is double-walled and lacks a rolled edge. They kept this basic styling on one-tons and greater, all the way up to the final trucks, '64 model year!
Pretty healthy bidding on eBay, too--$18,200 with over a day to go.
50s and 60s pickups are the new "hot thing" in collectibles, presuming they are really nice I mean. People are tired of mass market muscle right now.

I'll grab the 60 Colony Park wagon.
Ok, I'll grab the other one in the street. 62 Galaxie 500XL with the side badge indicating its Thunderbird engine, 405hp.
And in the driveway, a 55 Plymouth.
I remember those big chrome skirts on '62 Galaxies! I'd take them off, but what a nice car! I don't know if I've ever seen a '60 Colony Park, but then, we lived in a small town.
That kind of awkward time between 50s gingerbread and 60s modernism. That wagon has to be extremely rare today, was probably unusual even then.
For the life of me, I can't understand WHY anyone would ruin the looks of a car by putting on fender skirts? Especially chrome ones. Those did NOT come from the factory!
Same applies to continental kits!
To each his own I suppose.
Isellhondas, I agree totally. Going to cruises, you'd think only convertibles were ever sold and all in red with skirts and continental kits! LOL I think the only car that had skirts optional, where they added to the looks, were the original Monte Carlo--IMHO.
OOPS! See below
So, what WAS it originally?
49 Ford wagon?
Nope. The answer will surprise you. It's not american! (Looks like a Mopar doesn't it?)

Hint: Look carefully at the windshield
Maybe based on a VW Squareback? Pretty crazy
Yeah, that was my thought too. My folks had a '68 SB, which we took from CA to NY and back in the summer of '71.

That is a Sears Allstate - the mail order version of the Henry J.
I've seen that hood ornament before, but I can't think where. I'm guessing the car started life as a Plymouth two-door wagon, but I'm only guessing.

Looking again I see that the Allstate was fitted with a grille with two or three horizontal bars, so I was wrong - it isn't a car we saw over here really - I think I've only seen about two and that was in the states...
Okay you sharp-eyed devils---here's another "What WAS it?" car
'50 Studebaker front clip; looks like '49-51 Ford everyplace else.
BTW, that green '51 Studebaker pickup discussed here sold for over $25K on eBay. I'm rather astounded, as is my friend, a literal "Mr. Studebaker" who has probably owned 100 various Studes over the years.
Ah but you wouldn't have been astounded if you'd read our predictions over the past year---that well-restored 50s pickups were very hot in 2013--2014; mass market muscle is dropping, and 50s passenger cars are dropping, but postwar european sports cars are really picking up, as are 50s and 60s luxury wagons.
Back when I first started working for Sears, we still sold motor scooters in our Auto Center.
We had I think, three separate models. The best one was a rebadged Vespa and the bottom of the line was a moped that you could pedal if you had to.
I still remember the mopeds were nothing but trouble.
Sears even sold houses through the early catalogs that you had to assemble yourself.
Now, Sears is barely staying in business. Sad to watch the decline.
Like the old joke, "the store where America used to shop". It is a sad decline, but some of it isn;t surprising. My mother lives in a small town where Sears and Penneys were the big stores. Now the Sears is a ghost town, and the Penneys closed. Even before WalMart came to town, the Sears was especially poor when it came to clothing selection, always seemed behind the times. It was a good place to buy tools and some appliances. As real incomes continue to stagnate if not fall, I don't see a great future for it.
That's the second Stude pickup of that era to go to $25K in a week on eBay. They're so basic and (gasp!) an independent!
The more basic the better. That's their appeal. And the independent quality defeats the "oh, no, not ANOTHER El Camino!" at the local car show. However, it works both ways---the 50s independent cars are going to drop in value I believe.
Talk about El Caminos...I saw a NICE one last week. A '59 two tone blue and white.
