    Fiat 850 Sport Coupe

Right you are Graham. it's a 1970 Euro-spec car which accounts for the lack of side markers.

The Lincoln is a 47 or 48. The push buttons on the doors make it a Continental.
    I'll go with a 47.

    G'day

Looks like something left behind after The Dukes of Hazard. I think it might be some GM product

The semi-submerged car is a 1972 Chevrolet Impala. Stickguy came closest.

Concerning the Continental, I can't see one of those without thinking of Bette Davis as 'Baby Jane' driving one, as she did in the 1962 movie. Great-looking car.

I think the pre-war Studebaker 'Skyway' models reminded me of those Continentals, as they both avoided the busy side trim so many cars of that time had, and focused on only rocker trim:

The Stude also had a one-piece curved windshield.

The truck is a Diamond T, immediately postwar I guess, with a body dating back to 1937-38. I think one might have been featured here before.

It's a 1948 Diamond T. I see references to "Diamond Reo" from this era but the books say the two didn't merge until 1958. So I'm a bit confused about that at the moment.

Bentley R-type, early 50s. Pic appears to be in the US, so I can't trace the plate.

Sorry Fin, it's not an R-Type but the earlier Bentley Mk.VI (1946-52), the first Postwar design from the Flying B; the R-R equivalent was the Silver Dawn.
The R-Type, introduced in '52 was also known as the Mk.VII.

Sure looks like it has IH bones. The most obscure pickup I can find is a '56 Powell, based off a Plymouth. This ain't it. B)

Either IH or maybe a late 40's/early 50's Dodge?

The poster of the photo says it's a 1956 Desoto pickup found in South America. I guess these vehicles were sold around the world as either Dodges, Fargos or Desotos.

    Grandma says I look pretty...

Too ugly to be a Bedford!

There are some styling cues which say Dodge, particularly the block in the centre of the grille (think Dodge Ram) and those odd handle things on the bonnet edge. Perhaps from mid 1950's but tray does not fit that era. I think there was one in Lassie with that odd branding around the bonnet edge.

    Cheers

The DeSoto brand was used on trucks sold in Europe as well as Latin America during the 1950s. Some were made in Spain.

the only non-US Nissan SUV I can think of is the Patrol. Or is their also something like Punjab? Probably just made that one up.

    G'day

Short Wheelbase Nissan GQ Patrol (or Y60 to you). Not as common here as the LWB but very nearly indestructible. They are less popular than Toyota Landcruisers, but you see them everywhere.

A friend is still running his late 1980s short wheelbase Patrol, which has towed a caravan around Australia a couple of times. Service life in excess of 500,000km is normal.

Driving one is distinctly agricultural; First gear is very low and you need to rev out a long way before change up to second. Tyre noise dominates every other sound from about 50km/h. Pretty much every one sold in Australia is diesel with a lazy 4.2l engine which is remarkably robust.

Originally fitted with split rims for easy tyre changes in the bush, most are now fitted with after-market wheels.

The latest Patrol is manufactured without a diesel option which pretty much destroyed any sales potential in Australia. A dealer recently offered me AUD30,000 discount to take a new one off his hands; it had been in stock for 12 months and the distributor is saddled with inventory that no one will buy, hence offering dealers huge rebates. Edit: just discovered that the discount has now climbed to AUD47,000 on new stock as Nissan cannot shift them!

    Cheers

I am never sure about William Towns' designs and the Aston Martin Lagonda's dashboard was a low point. The technology was about 30 years too early for effective execution.
