Oh yes the Trans-Am Series was a blast to watch with Alfas and Minis duking it out with Camaros, Mustangs and the like. The Nova would've been heavy compared to a Camaro or any of the other Pony cars in the over 2L class.

Nova and Camaro weighed about the same. Friend had one of those model Novas, had it jacked up with HUGE rear tires. More 'show' than 'go', I think...

Close, it's the lighter, faster version, a 1963 Aston-Martin DB-4GT. The GT was designed primarily for the race track but like many racers of that era it could be used for street driving.

I'll take the red Toyota Celica, circa 1984. My mom had one of a similar vintage, only hers was light blue.

Pop up lights. Like them. Probs a GT.

Yellow 74 gremlin next to the dodge van. I had one just like it.

Damn, finally a picture in my wheelhouse! Fish in a barrel time.

Might that be an '84-'85 T-Bird on the far left? Maybe a Turbo Coupe?
    Edit - @stickguy is right, it's a Mustang.

Early 80s Caddy Brougham, 86-88 Taurus (2 actually, one in front of pic and the white one further back). There is an Escort far back left, an OJ white Bronco as well.

Edit: two Escorts on the picture, one behind the K-car.

Ah the late 80s. I see 2 1st gen Taurus, what I think is a white pop up lights Accord in the far background center, and what looks like a BMW E21 or E23 in the background right.

All I know about the blue Bug is that is the color of the one I drove up the Alcan in '74. The hood was speckled blue when I got home, and the windshield was shot.

Yup, a 1957 Oldsmobile 98/J-2. I'm not familiar w the "J-2", anyone know what the story is?

It was a performance option--in 1957 it was presented as 3X2 carburetors, with the one in the center doing most of the work and the other two operated by progressive linkages at full throttle. You could even order a station wagon with the J2.

Olds raced the J2 in NASCAR until multi-carbs were banned there in 1958.

    early 2000s Buick skylark?

a guy I know had a 4 door version of this. Not attractive styling, and the dashboard lines mimicked the outside swoops.

I think George Castanza drove on of those during his Yankees stint B)
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,477
92-95 Skylark, they received a needed but not-enough facelift for 96. Really odd with that beak, very much 90s GM design aesthetic. I can just imagine the corporate switchgear and display fonts inside.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,466
George had one at some point. I remember the episode where his car died in his parking spot at the stadium, and the brass thought he was always there working, and that was a Contour.

IIRC George had both a Skylark and a Regal, along with the Contour (Mystique).
  • tjc78tjc78 Member Posts: 17,040
I remember looking at those when they first came out. The one my stepdad drove was some version of "90s Teal". It was decent for the day, but he ended up getting a Neon instead.

Yup, that's the fugly 1990s version of the Buick Skylark, a car which made a greater than average contribution to GM's eventual bankruptcy.

Not one domestic car in the group. Of course, it may not be a domestic city, but the VW and the Civic have US headlights.

2 Golfs surrounding the Pug, and a VW van behind that.

Don't see a Civic. Might need a bigger monitor for that far back.

I assume this is Germany someplace?

You're right, Stick. The headlight surround on the white Golf behind the Pug looked like a contemporary Civic to me. But on closer inspection I see it is indeed a Golf.

I disagree, the white car behind the maroon Peugeot is noticebly smaller than the yellow Golf.
I'm sure it's a VW Polo, mkI or mk2. To this day Polos look like 3/4 scale Golfs.

I don't remember when IH when the vertical dual headlights. I'm going to guess early 60's. Don't think those wide whitewalls are from the same era?

Early 60s is right, it's a 1961 International Harvester B100 and I think you're right about those WWs, they're more appropriate for a pre-1958 vehicle and wouldn't often be seen on any truck of that era. I'd have skipped the chromed wheels and gone for red painted ones too.
