This shares a few styling cues:

Maserati Khamsin, ca. mid 70s. Both the Espada and Khamsin were styled by Marcello Gandini of Bertone. IIRC Gandini designed the Miura as well.

Yep, a '74. Only car I know with the taillights surrounded by clear glass.

Maserati Khamsin, a 70s wedge that is now cool.

Looks like a fintail in motion on the street. Newest car appears to be 1963.

I'll grab the 1953 Buick Super.

    Checker cab driving?
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,546
    looks like a Checker.

Trying to decide if the first car at the top on the left side row is a Rambler station wagon. Though kinda looks like a Chevy II also.

The car at the top of the left row, nearest the fintail, also kind of resembles a mid 50s Ford Squire to me,
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,673
I think the cab is not a Checker but a MoPar, probably a 1960 Plymouth Belvedere/Savoy. I recall many of these doing taxi duty in DC during that era If you look carefully you can make out the beginnings of tailfins.

It doesn't look like either to me but rather like a '53-'54 Ford Country Squire. I can make out the woody sides. There is a blue Rambler American sedan on the right, just ahead of the green '63 Chevy (another '63 Chevy is ahead of the '62 Wildcat.)

We must'nt forget the white '59 Cadillac ahead of the white/green Buick on the right.

There's a couple of big finned MoPars ahead of the 50s Buick. Anybody wanna call those?

A 1960 Dodge Matador and further up the road, one chip on a 1956 Dodge Coronet.

I would've guessed they were Dodges but missed the years. Now who knows what's parked second in line behind the (Ford?) wagon on the right? '61 Mercury?

The Dodge up the road is a '57 or '58.

I wonder if that '64 was about the last year for that ornate side trim. And when did it start? 1955 or so?

one of my favorites. The Mercury Capri II. I think these were mid-late 70s? So I will guess it is a 76.

I knew two people who owned a Capri II.

The first was the older brother of a childhood friend; I think his was the V6.

The second was a college buddy of mine; he likely had the 4-cyl.

Good guess! Sales of the Capri II in the US were terminated at the end of the '77MY.

I don't think so, looks '55-ish. Studebaker went through lots of reworking to keep the bones fresh...

Not a Champion, it's a 1955 Studebaker Conestoga wagon. I've heard that the name refers to Studebaker's history as a builder of the Conestoga wagons that settlers used on the Oregon Trail and other Western roads but according to Wikipedia they were built in Lancaster County PA and used mainly in the eastern US as they were too large for western trails.

Looks pretty good. Impressive mileage, too. Weird that they say the manual and DSG in the 3-door and 5-door all have the same 6.7sec 0-60.

wish I could see the nose of that red sedan. Is that a Triumph Dolomite? Something like that? Wheels look like MG mags to me.

and that small black sedan on far right. First though it was a Volvo 144, but not quite right, unless it is the picture angle skewing. I think it is a Renault.

Rover P6 may only be tied for the most unusual thing there.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,525
Red car is a Rover P6. I think the small black sedan is a Simca 1000.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,546
dang. I knew that was not a dolomite, and I knew that I had seen it before. Just did not think of Rover. explains the wheels too!
