I'll pick off the easy '66 Mustang

I'm at a loss on what appears to be twin green and white wagons. I want to say Ford, but the grille isn't quite right based on the interwebs pics I'm finding.

dang. I knew that was not a dolomite, and I knew that I had seen it before. Just did not think of Rover. explains the wheels too!

The Rover P6 was sold in the US first as a Rover 2000TC (OHC 4) and then as a Rover 3500 (Buick/Rover V8). The wheels are Rostyle stamped steel wheels styled to look like alloy wheels. They appeared on many UK imports in the late 60s/early 70s.

Red car is a Rover P6. I think the small black sedan is a Simca 1000.

Yep the black sedan is indeed a Simca 1000. Easily the rarest vehicle in the picture.

Twins? The Chevy is facing us, the Ford facing away. Both '69 or so.

There's another Mustang, near left, '68 is my guess.

I think the white wagon is a '68/'69 Ford. The green one is a '69/'70 Chevrolet Kingswood.
As for the Mustangs, the one next to the 510 could be either a '65 or '66. No way to tell which w/o seeing the grille IIRC.

The 'Stang on the other side of the wagon appears notably larger. It looks like a '67 or '68 to me.

Actually, the '66 Mustang has a different all silver gas cap, the '65 has a black center. Looks like a '66, I think.

bingo. The all metal fuel cap is the tip-off. Of course, an owner could swap it, but I'm going with the assumption it was stock that early in its life. :)

Definetly a big ford wagon the the far end. And a Chevy II wagon next to the green Monte Carlo.

Weird. I couldn't find a pic of a chevy wagon with that grille before but now searched again and found it. And I really couldn't figure out if the 2 wagons are different. Look the same to me. The white seems to have a more curvaceous profile, but I convinced myself it was the lighting.

I like the MGB GT and the Datsun 510. would love either one today.

FWIW the MGB GT is probably a '66 or '67 (assuming that the early production cars from Fall 1965 were sold as '66s). It doesn't have the side markers required from MY '68 on.

Oddly no one has mentioned perhaps the most distinctive vehicle, the white over green VW Type 1 MicroBus top right.

Yup, that's a Fiat 850 Sport Spider, the more upright headlights indicate a '68 or later version.

Earlier versions ('65-'67) had a faired in style

I know a guy who owns one, he's around 5'10". I know another guy around 6'2" or 3" who has a Miata. Yes, they both look funny driving around w their heads way over the windshield header but they both love their cars because they understand that the tiny size is part of their charm.

yes, sewing machine in the back.

my sister was short and fit. Her husband (BF at the time) was about 6'3". He hated it. Not only from trying to fit, but he got stuck trying to fix it all the time.

Not so bad being tall in a Miata. You can see over the header. Short works too. Problem is when you are in the middle, and stare straight at it.

A friend had an 850 Spider in high school. He was about my size, 6' 4" or so, and loved driving it. Never saw him in it with the top up, though...

We got pulled over once for having 4 in it, two sitting on the rear deck. High school, remember...

Can't see the front of many, but around a 52 or 53 Ford, also that cheaper fastback coupe version of maybe a 49 or 50 Plymouth or Dodge, and somewhere around a 53 Olds maybe up front?

The Cadillac and the Olds are both 1954s (first year for the wraparound front glass) otherwise '53s are hard to tell from '54s. I can't tell if the white Ford is a '53 or '54

Yeah the two-pane windshield suggests a 1940s era Willys Jeep, either a CJ2/2A or a WW II surplus MB.

It's funny how most of the cars are '53/'54. The oldest is easy, the black fourdoor in front of the white Ford. It's a late 40s Chrysler corp (impossible to tell brand from this pic)

On the Cadillac in the picture the trim piece from the front wheel well to the rear door does the angle and goes up. The '54 has a spear that runs from the front wheel well to the rear door.

The Trim piece between the rear door and the rear window has the smooth curving into the rear fender on the '55. On the '54 that piece terminates in a 90 degree angle at the large chrome piece on the rear window.

The '54 has a large trim piece that runs under the rear window and along the whole side of the car under and over the door windows to the front. The '55 does not have a large trim piece under the door windows and and under the fixed window behind the rear door.

    I'll go with '55.

  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,525
It's a 55. The reverse "L" trim piece is the giveaway. 56 would gain a horizontal accent above the rear wheelarch.

Based on the side trim, the Ford is a 54.
