What would the monthly look like in the following case?

2017 Sedan LX with Sensing LEASE for 36month/12000 miles in FL. 6%tax
    MSRP 21415
    Negotiated 19400
Says $0 down, sign and drive

    Thanks

$226.36/mo with tax included, assuming the selling price is the cap cost.

    Is this a good deal?

Now, this dealer offers the following:

2017 Sedan LX with Sensing LEASE for 36month/12000 miles in FL. 6%tax
    MSRP 21415
    Negotiated 19205
Says $0 down, sign and drive. Says everything is capitalized in negotiated and comes up with all inclusive $220 per months.

Do these numbers make sense? I want to know how he came up with $220 as it seems low to me.

    .00080 MF and 59% residual
    $350 lease cash

With 6% tax, $19,205 would have to be the adjusted CAP cost, and the selling price would have to be lower than that to account for DMV, acquisition and dealer fees.

Assuming all of your other numbers are correct.

I was quoted for 2017 civic sedan w/sensing for 36/12 lease a RV of 59% and MF of .0008 through Honda finance which is in line what you mention. But I was also offered the option to choose Cal bank (never heard of them) that had an RV of 63% and MF of .0015. Is it odd to have another bank offering a much higher residual? This is in NY

Yes, but the MF is higher as well, to compensate.

We don't have any numbers from banks other than Honda, so can't tell you if the .00150 is the base rate or it's been marked up by the dealer.

We'd recommend you stick with Honda - they are more likely to want to retain you as a customer at the end of the lease, and may not be so picky about the condition of the car when you turn it in.

Third party banks don't expect repeat business, and may nickel and dime you to death on the charges.

    Hello,

Wondering if you could provide money factor and residual numbers for a 2017 Civic Hatchback Sport Touring for 15k/36 in Oregon. I would also like to know how much the security deposit is and how many I can buy, as well as the reduction in money factor for each security deposit.

    Thanks!

Hello, do these numbers make sense? This is the delaers offer. Is it possible to bring to $230 (including tax) with $0 down sign and drive?

CIVIC LX 36/12000 with Sensing in FL

    Vehicle Price $21,415.00
    AutoNation Savings - $1,551.00
    AutoNation Price $19,864.00

    Sales Tax (estimate) + $1,290.15
    Tag/Registration Fees (estimate) + $248.75
    Tire/Battery/MVWEA + $6.50
    Dealer Service Fee + $699.95
    Balance Due (estimate) $22,109.35

    No Trade-In
    LEASE OPTIONS
    Cash Down 36 months
    12,000 Miles
    $500 $286
    $1,000 $271
    $1,500 $256

Seems about $15 high compared to my calculations. Had to replicate dealer fee's and such but I tried my best. With 0 down I was already at $286 but again its hard to replicate a deal because of the different dealer fees. Your dealer fee is higher than mine so that is probably the reason in the $15 difference.

The problem is that the balance due number is wrong; typical AutoNation lease quote.

FL taxes the monthly payment, so the tax estimate is not relevant.

And, no mention of the acquisition fee.

Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is, and how they got to that number from the selling price; that should clear up any confusion.

    Hi Michael,

Thank you very much for providing the numbers! Is there a reason why the MF is higher / RV is lower than the Civic Sedan from someone else you quoted for .08/60%? Just wondering if it is because of the state I'm in.

Also, on the Honda Financial website they do mention that they do security deposits. Could you provide more detail on that?

Again, thanks for your insight into this.

The hatch has lower residuals, across the board, than the sedan.

    Just leased a 2017 Honda Civic EX-T

    MSRP $ 23,135

    .00108 Money factor

    61% based on 36 months @ 12k miles /yr.

Price Paid before TTL and Acquisition Fee: $19,663.75

Pretty happy with the deal, I shopped it around and couldn't find anyone that could beat it.

For arguments sake, do you happen to know the figures for a 2014 Civic Sedan EX, 36 months, 12k miles as of April 2014 in NY?

I know it's apples and oranges but we didn't feel we were getting a great deal on the 2017 model in comparison to my girlfriends last lease and now that I've run the numbers based on what you're providing, it makes a little more sense from their perspective now than it did previously.

They're trying to have her lease through Cal instead of Honda now to try to cut the cost but she leased through Haan last time and ended up having to pay the disposition fees then so trying to avoid it, but if it's only way to get costs down we're considering it.

Now that I've done this research I have a much better understanding of how this works, but it is dumbfounding when you're sitting there with little knowledge trying to determine how the two models differ that much when the sticker price is so similar and their negotiations start $100 higher than your current monthly payment ($186 to $283 with $1500 down in each instance).

100/300 sounds right for any lease. No information on minimum deductibles, however.

However, check with your insurance company, to be sure.

Hi, I am looking at leasing a 2017 Honda Civic Sedan Touring. Purchase would be before the end of the month. Information on Money Factor, Residual, and any dealer incentives (lease cash) would be great I am in the So. California region. Thanks

Forgot to mention that several dealers still have some 2016 Honda Civic Sedan Touring on the lot How do these deals differ from the 2017 and would you consider that for a lease. Thanks

Since you guys seen it all and are truly the experts, could you provide me with the feedback on the following deal. If it is good, I plan to do it this week. No other dealer can match really.

FL, 2017 LX Sedan with Sensing; 36 mnonths lease; 12000 miles
    6%tax, 21415MSRP, 59residual, 0.0008MF, $350 lease cash

The 500 down covers your 1st payment / tag transfer fee
The cap cost with 500 down at 238 per month is 20,279.47

Do these numbers sound good? Do you think it is a good deal or can do better?

I get the same payment. Is that +tax?

Yes, 6% tax is in it. Does this selling price seem ok? Thanks

We don't track selling prices - use the 'make / model / year' pull downs at the top of the page to link to the price tools.
