No 39 months is the sweet spot for the Discovery Sport, this month.

We just show them as HSE and HSE LUX, so I'd assume those numbers were for the Dynamic.
HSE LUX has same numbers, but subtract 2%/1%/1% for 24/33/39 months, from the residuals above.

You don't; you simply (and politely) tell them you won't sign a deal with a marked up MF. They know the base rate.

Then, start shopping other dealers.

MF is marked way, way up. LR dealers are famous for thinking their vehicles are more special than just about anything else on the road.

You did really well on that. How is Cincinnati Land Rover to deal with? Drove by there in the Tacoma, today. Thought about trying out their test track.

They were excellent. Very transparent with the MF and residual when I inquired based on a monthly payment they offered me. I told them I wanted the bank rate for mf and they agreed (first offer was for .00049 instead of .00019) and they explained the residual change based the the miles of the car. I had to drive 2 hours to get to cinci. They had me in and out in an hour as requested so I could make it back to work in Indy for a meeting. No surprises during signing.

Also, my deal was for September, not August as I stated above.

Big thanks to you and Michaell for making this process easier for all.

Question: Dealer wants ENTIRE Total Sales Tax ($3,750.29) upfront. I maintain the tax due for Ohio would be 39 x Monthly Lease Amount only, closer to $1,440.00.

Who's correct on the Tax for Ohio?

Please comment/advise on other figures above.

Chase dba Land Rover Financial. They lease nationwide, so they should be able to call Chase and get the proper tax amount. Rebates and acquisition fee will be taxable, as well as the payments.
Money factor is marked up from base of .00001

Land Rover had incentives on loaners back in August, so I doubt there are many left. But, nearly $700/mo. for a $50K MSRP service loaner seems like an awful lot. (amortizing the upfront money)

39/10 residual is 56%.

If the reduction is $1180.50, that's $0.15 per mile, and should make the residual 53.63%

Take the sum of payments, then add acquisition fee and any rebates. Multiply that by the tax rate, and you'll be pretty close.

Is it possible to lease with $0 down? From the comments on this thread it sounds like RR looks for a fair amount down and they have more fees than I’ve seen for any other brand. I’ve only leased Lexus and Jeep before.

$795 Land Rover Finance acquisition fee.
Dealer fees in VA seem to run $300-$600. I always ask the dealer what their fee is before negotiating price, so I can adjust my offer to account for it.

Don't know DMV fees in VA, but those shouldn't vary.

Just finished a lease with a VA dealer.
Details were as follows:

-2017 Discovery Sport HSE
-39mo/12k mi
-$48,175 MSRP
-Confirmed that the RV used was 55% and MF was 0.00001 (dealer originally gave me 0.0005 but when I pushed on it they said it was because they hadn't ran my credit yet - although they would have been happy letting me sign there!)

The one big caveat was that this was a CPO vehicle (former loaner) with 7,200 miles on it. The dealer deducts this from the residual value of the vehicle in an amount of $0.15/mi.
When I penciled this out, it effectively changed the RV to 52.8% - to which the dealer offered an extra $1,000 lease cash to make up for it (made sense). Net Cap Cost after discounts, fees, and all taxes rolled in was $45,515.

Original offer from dealer based on their initial parameters was $550/mo

Final Deal (after some additional back and forth)
-$488/mo with $0 down (with exception of 1st months rent - so technically $488 down)
