My parent's '98 Chevy went in today for a scheduled oil change. It has to go back tomorrow for an oil leak somewhere.
If you want me to give you examples of Toyota trucks going near 400,000 miles, I could...but it's not worth the time.
I had 2 GM product, a '95 Vette and a '96 Trans Am and both had the LT-1, ie 350ci. Both had oil leaks!!! Gm fixed the TA, but I traded the Vette on a '98 Tacoma. So explain that, trucksrme!! Yeah, yeah, yeah I know, you can't other than your same old BS!! You must don't have a life because I see your posts on every Tundra topic. If everyone don't believe me check for yourself. The man, woman, boy, girl, or whatever it is has a envy streak of the Tundra like I have never seen!!! Were you fired from a Toyota factory or something?? Because all the problems YOU SAY the Tundra has I have yet to see since I've had mine!!
Seriously, though what gives with you and the Tundra? It is a nice truck that everyone seems to enjoy. Sure it's not as big, but most people don't need all that truck, I know that I don't. If I did I would have bought a F-150. Is the Tundra better than any one of the big 3? For all the owners of Tundras, the answer is "YES!"
So relax, I am beginning to think you're some kind of psycho who has the desire to sneak out at night and damage every Tundra in sight!!! You're like some Tundra serial killer are you? You may need to be investigated! Everyone keep your Tundras under a watchful eye, there's a psycho on the loose and his screen name is trucksrme and various other aliases. Be careful all Tundra owners!
Never put Chevy and hyundai in the same sentence.
Cracks me up!
LOL
Chevy's be looking like lowriders put next to a nice 4x4 FORD!
The BEST never REST!
There is no need to change oil in there Ford's. The way the engine is put togather you don't get parts friction very much, so run out oil works fine. Save money on them oil changes and get yourself an F-150.
I'm not saying Ford doesnt build a good truck, but theres no way you have 150,000 on the original oil.
"I have a Ford f-150 and have 150,000 miles and
running strong and never have changed the oil even
once. "
OR
"I changed the oil up until 120K"
???????????????????????????????????
items such as replaced the starter and alternator twice. Smaller stuff started to mess up inside the cab that drove me crazy. $1400 spent on engine repair alone within 3 years, convinced me to sell the piece of crap.
1997 Purchased a new Chevy Silverado. didn't give me as much problem as the Ford did, however the
paint seemed too thin and big areas on my hood
and fenders started flaking off within two years.
Purchased a new Tundra November of 1999. Still drives like a dream and hasn't givin me a lick
of problems. My son drives a 1991 Toyota Tacoma
that has never been to the mechanic for the exception of general maintenance ie.. (brakes,
battery, belts) currently has 214,000 miles
on it. That alone convinced me to buy Toyota.
I know how you guys feel about your Ford and
Chevy trucks because I was just like you. You're probably the kind of guys that have
those stickers of Calvin peeing on the Chevy
emblem or vise versa.
Take my word for it, The Chevy and Ford trucks I purchased what have never lasted me over
100,000 miles without draining my pocket book
first.
I challenge you to a simple test that proves my
opinion. Visit your local used car dealers
and compare a 10 year old Chevy or Ford truck/car
and compare it to any 10 year old Toyota.
History speaks louder than anybody here...
Can't comment on Dodge trucks personally, but
have some friends that have similar problems with them.
I am sorry, but I would rather have a Toyota than 3 Chevrolets or Fords. At least they have proven longevity.
No dealer around here has or wants a '90 vehicle to sell. Unless you visit the fly by night operations 20 miles away but who wants to deal with them?
Not me.
Harry
That Tundra be assembled on US soil. Ya can't be saying that for ALL them GM trucks now.
now! " He posted this about a Japanese engine.
The Isuzu Duramax. He knows who makes the best
engines.
Better quit blowing that bottom leaf smoke. The
truth is getting out. That raging case of Tundra
envy you have is flaring up again.
He doesn't have to get just a japanese engine that he loves so much. He can get the whole vehicle - the Toyota Tundra. Made in the good ol' US of A.
Admit hicksrme - you really love japanese engineering.
all US of A (some Canada). FED be classifin USA.
Tundra - engines - trannies = JAPAM assembly =
non UAW. FED be classfin forien.
"Full Size" = them big3 ones. "Not Full Size" =
them limited ones.
What part of these simple truths aint ya gettin
now? Bama, just another yuppie without the knowin
of things. Good luck on this one now!
After the creation of the Department of Labor, do we still need unions?
Identifying by VIN numbers for GM
First number designates country of assembly plant for both GM trucks and autos:
1,4 USA built
2 Canadian built
3 Mexico
J Japan
I know I wouldn't want a truck whose VIN starts with "3" and I'm sure a lot feel that way...so why would GM build a plant there? cheap labor? avoid the UAW? Hmm.....
ISUZU = Japanese designed and engineered.
GM builds Duramax which is under license to a
Japanese manufacturer. It doesn't matter where it
is built - it is a Japanese engine.
Now you have been posting about not being able to
"work them forein ones".
Now you are posting "This be the best engine of
them all now! "
Answer this simple question: Is ISUZU duramax a
japanese designed and engineered engine?
You are twisting and squirming too much. Blowing
that bottom leaf smoke. Just admit it - Tundra
envy big time!
that isuzu, be usin that facility as one of many
too be buildin up that US of A made Duramax. They
be build em right here in that US of A. I be sure
GM be usin lots of factorys they be ownin, in lots
of places, when farmin out work for this and that. toyota, be that "closed" system, only be usin folks like that Indianina plant too end run round that import tarif, not even payin the UAW wage on em. Now for them facts ya be needin too try too get: Accordin too them Feds, Chevy be a US of A one, tundra be a forien one. Aint that simple? Here be another for ya: Chevy be "full size", tundra be pee-wee sized. One more now: Chevy be for "workin" folks, tundra be for them yuppies chasin that fad. These are simple truths, if ya still aint gettin em, best go back too readin on it in them magazines now. Yuppies, they sure be hard too be learin simple things. Good luck on this one now!
was on strike in '98, I think they sabotaged a lot of vehicles to make the company look bad when talks broke down.
But if Tundra was really the premier truck,
everyone would just buy Tundras right? Plumbers,
asphalt, construction sites, electricians, tree
service, landscaping, delivery, roofing. I think
you are forgetting that trucks were designed for
these needs, before they were made into personal
use vehicles, with smaller beds, more seating etc.
And I think that the owner of a Tundra is looking
for status. And to him, Tundra is the right symbol for that. And to a greater degree, the owner of a Lexus or Land Cruiser is simply looking for even more. So you could say everyone, is looking for the right amount to be comfortable with. I think all trucks make poor status symbols because beneath the skin, the message is work. For the Denali, Escalade, Land Cruiser etc, the status is more obvious...big family, bigger money, club membership etc. So while the Lexus might be the premier luxury automobile, it might be that the premier truck carries a snowplow, air compressor, or safety strobes.
So who is it you want to impress?
