I guess it would help, if we used the 2018 numbers, instead of the 2017 numbers I gave you above.

I get $375/mo. also, given your adjusted CAP.

Looks like a good deal, though I'd want to keep my out of pocket under $1000, and take the higher payment that comes along with that. Just first payment and DMV fees at signing.

I appreciate your feedback! I don't want to press my luck but I'm struggling to understand the best way to determine "a good deal". Since the MF, RV & Incentives are available, and you couldn't comment w/o the adj CAP, should I be mostly concerned with getting the Cap & Adj Cap during negotiatons? I hope I'm not the only one to be confused with this. Thanks!

It helps to have a full breakdown of the numbers.
Sale price
Incentives
Tax
DMV fees
Dealer fees
Adjusted CAP cost
Amount due at signing (with a breakdown of where it's going)

While we can check the calculations, and give general advice, and give the lease programs.... we can't follow pricing for 200 make/models. Too many variables including location and incentives we may not be aware of.

What is the adjusted cap cost, with taxes and fees added in?

They know the numbers; simply tell them you want the base MF.

yamaha593 - I'm in NY too. When you complete you deal can you tell me the dealership. I have not been able to strike that low of a deal. I was at $363 (including tax) plus $600 out of pocket but the MSRP was only $44.3K. Thanks, Bob

Guesses are three for a quarter.

I suppose it depends on how much inventory is left at the end of the month.

@innovisn the dealership was Volvo in Huntington. Excellent dealership and the salesperson was great. They were just as disappointed as I was that I could did not sign the deal. I have until the 31st, though, so the salesperson said he'll try and see what he can do.

Anyone know why Edmunds shows no available incentives for this or any Volvo when there are such great incentives? Even Volvo dot com shows the incentives.

Edmunds quit showing factory to dealer incentives a few years ago. Only consumer incentives.
But, the TMV price should have factory-to-dealer incentives factored in.

Why they don't have them on a particular model, I couldn't say.

You can report issues on any page by scrolling to the bottom and clicking on HELP.

I've been looking at leasing as a cheaper way to purchase (seems like lease payments + residual < purchase price + tax). Car purchase would be made near Boston, MA.

Here's the deal I was quoted recently on a fully-loaded Dynamic AWD - is this considered a good deal, and if no, what should I be asking for next from the dealer?

MSRP: $40,500
Payment: $375/mo, incl. 6.25% taxes
Down: $0 (first payment plus title/registration due at signing)
Residual: $18,225

How do I evaluate this deal and what can I negotiate? Is the MF and residual amount set by the manufacturer, or is it something I can negotiate also? What incentives should I be asking for?

What is the term and mileage of the lease?
Ask for the sale price and the adjusted CAP cost on the lease deal.

It's rarely cheaper to lease, then buy.
At lease end, you'll be financing a used car, with no promotional rate, and you'll owe tax on the residual, as well.
