Hi, i’ve Read virtually every page so figured I don’t finally chime in.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on this deal.

    2018 Lariat 4x4 supercrew.

    36/12

    High MSRP: $62450
    Sale price: $54,266
    Residual (61%): $38094
    MF: .000958
    Cap Reduction: $1000
    Taxes rolled into payment.
    Fees=
    Registration: $673
    Doc Fee: $75
    Acquisition: $645

    Zip code 55104 (MN)

Their sheet shows $609/mo. What say you all?

Trying to use their lease term sheet and understanding their math makes my head hurt.

I agree with the 61% residual
We show the APR as 1.30% (.00054 MF), while the money factor given to you would translate to 2.30% APR

Is $1000 the total amount due at signing?
What about the fees? Paid upfront or not?

Using the sale price as the adjusted CAP, and the marked up APR, I get $538/mo.+tax
    The markup adds about $38/mo.+tax

By my calculations, your number you gave me + tax + the fees rolled in puts it right around the $610 number.

Looking for the residual on a 18 crewcab xlt four wheel drive @16,500 miles per year on 36 month. 2.7 ecoboost. I Was told its 56% but I seem to think its 57%. Can a dealer manipulate this in VINCENT system? If so on lease contract the purchase option should be the same as residual? Also mf was only 1.3 % plus $4550 in rebates. Here in new jersey zip code 08043. Thanks,

    56% residual is correct
The dealer cannot alter the residual.
The purchase option may not be the same as the residual. Many banks have purchase option fees, as well as disposition fees. Not sure about Ford Credit.

I don't have the NJ region to check, but 1.30% APR matches the lowest number we've seen in other regions. That's a good thing.

Wow this forum has great info. All the 2018 lease pricing, residual value, and dealer discounts offered up in this forum have me thinking about my current purchase decision. Thought I would post here to get some input from this smart and informed group. Here is the short version of what I want to know. Sorry in advance for the length of the email.

For this example, let's say I am purchasing a 2014 PRE-Owned F150 with 42K miles (assume the truck is in above average to excellent condition). I am negotiating with the dealer and I am using MSRP, estimated 2014 discounts and estimated residual values to come up with my offer price on the PRE-owned 2014.

    MSRP 2014 = $49K (fact)

Est Discounts = $12K. Carfax reports the truck was sold in Nov 2014 (late in the model year), which was the last year of that body style with the old steel frame, so I assume high discounts off MSRP. I see $15K+ off some of the 2018s so I think $12K is very reasonable/conservative as an est of the discounts give in 2014 to the original owner.

    Est. 2014 Purchase Price = $49K MSRP - $12K est. Discounts= $37K

Who knows, but assume in 2014 there were similar residual values as the "60-53%" I have see quoted on this forum for 2018. That means after a 36/12 or 48/12 "Ford" would have a used 2014 with 36 to 48K miles worth 60-53% of the original Purchase Price. Well I am looking at a 2014 with 42K miles, so we are in that ballpark. I apply a 55% residual value on the $37K est Purchase Price, which gets me to a $20K "value" in 2018 for the used 2014. Yes, I am applying lease residual value concept on a purchase, but RV is Ford's determination of vehicle value in the future. We are now in that future.

This analysis seems reasonable to me. Sure some of the figures could move around, like higher discounts or higher RV given the excellent condition of the vehicle. My question for this forum is more about -- is this a reasonable approach to determine my offer price for a Pre-owned F150? Is it missing anything or flawed? More thoughts....in this example, the dealer is asking $30K for the 2014 which feels insane give my analysis. Yes, I know there is room to negotiate, but 1/3? Further, their $30K price implies only 19% of depreciated value after 4 YEARS and 42K mile. That is an implied 81% "residual value" after 4 years. No way ... come Mr. Ford Dealer in Texas.

I am going to offer something around my number ($20K), but wanted to know what I am missing in my analysis? This example is NOT unique. It seems all the Pre-Owned F150s in Texas have asking prices that are at these insanely high prices (aka 80% implied "residual value" after 3-5 years). Maybe they expect all buyers to offer 33% off the starting used price. I should point out, I am not taking the dealer's purchase price into account here, but why should I? That's not my problem. I am trying to determine MY value for the vehicle. It's not my issue if they made a good or bad buy at the wholesale auction. Sure if I was purchasing a rare Ferrari then my analysis does not work as well, as prices can rise for rare vehicles. A 2014 F150 is not rare, especially in Texas. The foundation of my analysis is what FORD determined as the residual value of an F150 after 3-4 years and 36-48K miles. Logic seems to say 55% makes more sense than 80% after 3-4 years, right?

Hope to get some general feedback on the reasonableness of my analytical approach. I want to be ready for the discussion with the dealer. What is wrong with the analysis? I don't see anything wrong with it. Also how do you expect the dealer to counter my analytical approach?

    All the best,
    J

None of that matters. All that matters is the current market for the used vehicle.
    The dealer won't care.

    Which model F-150?
    Cab?
    Trim?
    2WD or 4WD?

The private offer price is probably incompatible with the lease program.

    Hi!

Looking for this month’s numbers for NY - 13219.  4x4, SuperCrew, 36 mo / 15K.  Was hoping you could provide the APR, residual, and any incentives (which I assume there are none) for both a Lariat and XLT. Thank you!

    36/10.5 or 12
    39/10.5 or 12

    36/12
    59% residual
    3.35% APR

    39/12
    57% residual
    3.60% APR

Those are the APRs for top tier credit.
We don't have the associated credit score required.

There is absolutely no chance that the asking price is valid with the lease program.
