Can someone explain the benefits of MB one pay? I guess mainly I'm curious to know if I can eliminate the MF portion of the calculation since you are paying the entire lease up front? Thanks!
Never pay the entire lease upfront. If you total the car at any point, all the insurance recovery will accrue to the leasing company (which technically 'owns' the car) and you will not see a penny. You will be out of pocket for the entire lease amount that you have paid out.
Eg, Say you paid $36k depreciation upfront on lease for a $80k car (implying $44k residual). Assuming 36mo lease, your monthly depreciation payment would have been $1k.
Car gets totaled 12 months in, insurance company refunds $60k.
If you had been on a monthly lease program, you would have to pay the leasing company an additional $8k (car depreciated by $20k ($80k - $60k) but you would have only paid $1k x 12 = $12k so far). So lease would end and it would cost you $20k total - the actual depreciation on the car.
But if you paid the entire depreciation amount upfront, you would get back $0 and lose the entire $36k.
Given how low lease factors are to begin with, the discounted financing cost for OnePay is totally not worth the risk.

Single Pay leases don't work that way, fortunately. They are treated as though the payments are being paid monthly, in event of an involuntary termination.
Your advice holds true for large upfront CAP reductions, however.

My apologies. I assumed it was the same as reducing upfront cap so that no monthly payments are due. There is a pretty decent finance charge reduction for that.

Can you provide me with the MF and residual in CT on a 2018 GLS 450 for 42 months / 10K miles per year, and also 36 months / 10K miles per year? Also, are you aware if Mercedes is giving any holiday discount cash, etc towards leases currently?

.00125 MF and 55%/51% residual for 36/42 months, 15K/yr 15K is the highest allowance we have info for. Ask the dealer how they handle the extra 3K mi/yr.
I am looking for MF and RV info for the GLS 550 and 63AMG for Virginia. 36 month. 10K miles. Thank you. Also, do you know if Mercedes increases the residual value for prepaid maintenance? My last lease was with Audi and they upped the residual by 1% if you got Audicare with your lease. Thanks again.

We've heard anecdotal evidence of Mercedes dealers adding the maintenance cost to the MSRP, effectively residualizing it. Which gives a similar benefit.

can I also get the MF and residual for 2018 GLS 450 for 48 months for 10/12k miles in NJ. Also, i know that in a standard lease, all cap cost reduction is lost if the car is lost/stolen. Is that also true for a single payment lease when the entire lease payments are paid upfront and is there any additional benefit of single payment lease? I have a trade in appraised by dealer for 15k. If i use this money towards the lease, i save 1k in NJ sales tax but then its a risk if car is lost/stolen. I am not looking to reduce my monthly payment, just trying to see if there is a way to save this 1k in sales tax adjustment. My ins. company does offer gap ins. for $45/year but i don't know if its applicable in my case (MB will have its own gap ins). Any other way to get paid for my trade in worth if car is lost/stolen? If not, i will ask dealer to cut me $15k check separately. Thanks

Single payment leases aren't treated as CAP cost reductions. They are treated as separate lease payments (at a lower money factor, thus lower payment), that are all pre-paid. So, in theory, if the lease is involuntarily terminated through accident or theft, say after 3 payments, the rest of the payments are returned to the lessee, before payoff calculations are conducted.
But, if you trade your $15K car and use it towards the single-pay lease, you will have, in effect, made a large CAP cost reduction, and run the same risk.
The advantage of a single-pay lease is the savings from it being calculated with a discounted money factor.
Another thing to be clear on.. All CAP reduction isn't automatically lost, if the lease is terminated early. It's at risk, but it's possible that depending on value and your insurance payoff that you might retain some of it. But, if the insurance payoff is insufficient to cover the lease payoff, and GAP is involved, then it won't be used to reimburse you for CAP reductions. And, that is the same, whether it's MBFS' gap coverage, or coverage you purchase from your insurance company. That's why it's so cheap. It only covers the bank's loss.

so the selling price is 79K, taxes are $3160, $995 acquisition fee, $215 tags/title.
Using $83,370 as the adjusted cap, I get $1082/mo
$93 x 36 = $3348 to account for in the dealer quote. Ask them what adjusted cap they used to get their $1175/mo payment quote
