If you are paying the DMV fees upfront, how come your $3000 rebate only gets you $1605 of CAP reduction?
$595 for acquisition fee and $262 for tax on the rebate.. That still leaves $640 unaccounted for.

That, and the 1% residual issue.

Sure wouldn't hurt to find out the answers to that, and then push for another $30/mo. lower

It's always best to shop for a car when you need it. Ending your existing lease early will generally cost you more in the next lease.

Yes.. this is for top tier credit. CC allows dealers to markup by as much as .00042 over this rate, so watch out for that.

Dealt with a dealer today who appears to be making me a good offer, but was a little shady on how he's coming up with his numbers (frustratingly, he wouldn't simply negotiate discount, then discuss incentives, etc.). In the end, they are offering: $588 per month for 24/10k; 0 down; $587.99 out of pocket (assuming this is fees but I don't have details). Based on the $53,330 MSRP, assuming the MF and residual you provided, and factoring in $4000 incentives and the $750 appreciation incentive Jeep sent me recently, I'm thinking that they are basically taking 7 percent off MSRP to get to this figure. That seems reasonable, I think. Going to shop it around; any thoughts though?

CAP cost would have to be around $46,600 to get that payment.

Ah I see your math now -- I wasn't factoring in the auto-added sales tax that the Edmunds lease calculator tool applies. Interesting -- so assuming either $4000 or $4750 incentives, that's between a 3.7% and 5.1% discount off MSRP. Will use that as a jumping off point for the next dealership I suppose.

I don't know about Boston, but this is what I am seeing in NJ.

Would you be able to show what Honcker has as far as payment on a 2018 Grand Cherokee 4x4 Overland? My Honvker app doesn’t have Jeep in my area. Thank you in advance.

I gave Honcker a try tonight...is this legit? MSRP on these are roughly $42,000 and the monthly payments for 12k miles a year coming in at $312? Am I missing something? This is with roughly $3,000 down (you can adjust that number which will send the monthly up a tad obviously). Any help is appreciated.

From other reports I have read, yes, it works and is easy to do. If you work hard at it and are savvy, you can do better, so they aren't impossible deals, BUT, you have to decide for yourself if its worth the trouble of chasing a better deal.

@Ebarnes123 Stop putting $3000 down, and you'll get a payment that more accurately reflects the actual cost of leasing the vehicle.

Or, put $6000 down, and every lease will look great.

When you say “you can do better”, do you mean in an actual dealership? I never thought I’d see a GC limited for 310 a month with 12k miles.

Well, its not $310/mo, really. Its $400 when you roll in all that money up front. But, what I mean to say is SOME folks who want to do all the leg work can do better. Maybe not by much, though, and, IMHO, not worth it. I don't personally want to spend 15 hours working a deal to save $10/mo. That's $360 over the life of a 3-yr lease, which means I saved $22 for every hour I put into getting that deal. I've got better things to do.
