I personally would push for a much steeper discount...I would say minimum 10% off MSRP. For what it's worth, I'm in WA state and am in a Forester Touring for $320/month, 12k miles with no money down.

No, they aren't.

The state first taxes the sum of the payments; if you choose to roll them into the payment, then that recalculated payment amount is subject to a tax, each month.

Which means that app is wrong - I only see the tax calculated against the selling price, which is incorrect.

I was quoted for an Impreza Sport with moonroof and other add ons an MSRP of 27111, Invoice 25267, and $1275 below invoice (Costco pricing). I didn't get a lease quote yet, wasn't sure if they manipulating the RV and holding out on the dealer lease cash.

Dealer cannot alter the residual; it is set by the bank.

But, I would ask what bank they are using for that quote. If the residual is higher, chances are the MF is, too.

Thank you. I got a response from the sales guy via email, stating he didn't know for sure what the MF was and it depended on how much I put down, regardless of my Tier 1 credit. As for the residual, he still wouldn't give me an exact number. I'm likely going to use a broker instead of dealing with these guys who can't be transparent. Thanks for your help.

No need to engage a broker. Just find a dealership willing to be up front with you.

Residual cannot be altered by the dealer; it is set by the bank.

Besides, you'll have to pay the broker,won't you? Doesn't that run counter to getting the best deal?

I really liked the Imprezza sedan I drove a couple months back. A bit on the pricey side when getting all the safety stuff plus the better audio system. But figured for folks like me that buy instead of lease, it would be worth it getting it all up front and hoping no moron hits me going forward. Think if it had been a few inches smaller, I’d have one in the garage now but things just didn’t work out after my accident and then my recent gall bladder surgery.
Will look again in a few months once things settle down here. Also, maybe by then the dealer will have more of a selection in the color combo I’m looking for as I won’t settle on a color combo I don’t really like just to score a good deal. I’d regret it within days and would sour the whole thing. Would rather wait and get what I want in the first place.
